Moreover, it was evident that Vivian was siding with them. Any further words from the Evans family would only make them seem more guilty.
Henry was already troubled by thepany’s issues; thest thing he needed was to offend the Shea family.
The Evans family’s fate was in the hands of the Shea family, who held thend that was crucial to their survival.
As for Simon, Henry had plenty of ways to get him out of this mess.
The scene fell into an eerie silence.
“What an interesting youngdy,” a heartyugh broke the stillness.
It was Troy ckwell, the patriarch of the ckwell family, a cheerful old man who yfully nudged his grandson, Curtis. “You should learn from her and stop putting on airs.”
Curtis smiled appropriately and nodded, “Sure.”
Natalie, feeling a bit miffed, retorted sharply. “Mr. ckwell, she’s just a money–grubbing woman. What’s there for Curtis to learn from her?”
“Yes, that’s right,” Rowan, still smarting from Henry’s rebuke and eager to find some way to save her dignity, quickly chimed in, “You have no idea. She’s just a poor student who’s never seen anything fancy. Mr. Curtis ckwell doesn’t need to learn from her.”
Troy and Curtis’sments had already eased the awkwardness in the room.
However, Natalie and Rowan’s sudden outbursts reignited the tension.
Henry was fed up with this mother–daughter duo who always caused him trouble.
Troy, being a straightforward person, couldn’t stand the Evans family’s condescending attitude. “Natalie, stop pretending. To put it bluntly, who in this world doesn’t love money?
“I like the youngdy’s frankness. Unlike some people who pretend to look down on money but can’t even teach their grandchildren properly, leading them tomit crimes.”
Still not satisfied, he continued, “Henry, I remember when you were at your lowest, rummaging through discarded clothes for pocket money. Howe now you’re pretending to be high and mighty?
“I think the award for best actor should go to you.”

Troy’s down–to–earth remarks immediately set off a wave ofughter and derision in the
room.
Henry’s face turned ashen as he listened to the waves of mockingments, feeling extremely annoyed. He shouted, “Who dares tough again?”
His outburst did quiet the room somewhat, but oneugh lingered on.
“Who still dares tough?” Henry mmed his hand on the table and looked around.
He wanted to see who was brave enough tough at him.
“Me.” Vivian raised her hand, looking straight at the fuming Henry.
Troy was still as blunt as ever, not caring about others‘ feelings.
“You-” Henry was about to scold her when he saw that she was from the Shea family. Reluctantly, he swallowed his words.
Vivian stoppedughing and walked down from the second floor, approaching Olivia.
“I like people who say what they mean,” Vivian said with a smile, looking at Olivia. “I really appreciate this youngdy’s frankness. If you all don’t ept the gifts, I’ll think it’s because our gifts aren’t good enough for you.”
Upon hearing this, the crowd began to stir, and everyone started to take the gifts.
No one had expected Vivian to y her cards so unconventionally.
Vivian still wore her smile. “Guys, there’s no need for exnations. I understand. I hope the rest of the party won’t disappoint you all.”
“This straightforward youngdy is really interesting. I’d like to take her to meet my grandfather, Vivian thought to herself.
Olivia nodded slightly. “Ms. Shea, you tter me. I’m just simply fond of money.”
Vivianughed. She liked this youngdy more and more, and her curiosity about her deepened. “There’s nothing wrong with liking money. I’ve decided to befriend you.”
As soon as she said this, the whole room was abuzz with astonishment.
Vivian’s deration to befriend her was essentially an invitation from the Shea family to form a friendship with Olivia.
In other words, Olivia had just secured the backing of the Shea family.

That was no ordinary family–the Shea family was the Kingtonelle overlord, the preeminent among the aristocratic families.
Olivia was truly lucky.
Before Olivia could respond, a waiter hurriedly handed Vivian a phone with a flustered expression.
Vivian answered the call, her demeanor flickering with a moment of tension that quickly passed.
Olivia, observant as ever, noticed Vivian’s brief unease.
The only ones who could possibly make Vivian anxious were members of the Shea family.
Sure enough, after ending the call, Vivian walked to the center of the hall, nced over the crowd, and spoke in a calm voice, “I apologize, everyone. Tonight’s party will, unfortunately, not proceed as nned.
“My grandfather has suddenly fallen severely ill and requires immediate treatment.”
“For the time everyone has wasted tonight, I extend my apologies on behalf of the Shea family. The Shea family will take responsibility for any losses incurred,” Vivian said, her eyes scanning the expressions of those present.
Henry was the first to react, stepping forward. “Ms. Shea, there’s no need for such trouble. The Evans family is the premier medical family in Hirica.
“Though I may not be the most talented, I do possess genuine skills. Allow me to give it a try?”
To Henry, this illness of Winston’s was quite timely.
‘Who else present could im to have better medical skills than me?‘ Henry wondered. ‘If I could cure Winston, people would forget every embarrassing moment just now. Moreover, even if I fail, it doesn’t matter. I still have Revival Grass,’
Most of the guests, not being medical experts, thought Henry’s proposal was a good idea when they heard it.
If he could cure Winston, they wouldn’t have to leave the Shea family party.
No one knew when the Shea family would host another party. They couldn’t afford to miss this opportunity.
“Putting aside other things, Henry’s medical skills are indeed the best in Hirica. It would be quite appropriate to let him treat Winston,” one guest said.
“Yeah, although his character leaves something to be desired, his medical skills are undeniable. Didn’t they say he’s highly skilled?” another chimed in.

“Besides him, no one else here knows much about medicine. Ms. Evans, though also medically trained, specializes in gynecology and can’t save Winston,” someone else added.
The crowd buzzed with various opinions, all talking at once.
Listening to the praise around him, Henry felt quite confident. ‘Who else but me can handle this?‘ he thought.
“Grandpa Henry, rest assured. No one but you can save him.” Cheryl ttered Henry.
“How dare a quack who doesn’t even know the acupuncture points im to be able to save someone?” Olivia’s tone was mocking as she spoke with a lightugh. “Mr. Evans, save your reputation. Don’t throw that away, too.”
“Who do you think you are to speak ill of Uncle Henry?” Natalie couldn’t bear it any longer and stepped forward to defend Henry.
Olivia propped her chin on her hand. “Did I say anything about you? Ms. Evans, I still vividly remember you bowing on the street.”
Natalie pointed at Olivia, her face turning red with anger.
Just mentioning that incident made Natalie furious.
Henry suppressed his anger, took Natalie’s hand, and said calmly, “Olivia, you call me a quack, but what skills do you have then? You’re quite young, yet so boastful.”
