J continued, “Since that’s the case, why did you bring me into this world? I would rather never have been born. Then I wouldn’t have stood in the way of your rise to power and wealth, Mr. Hale.”
After she finished speaking, she felt aggrieved again, and her nose prickled as she fought back tears.
She understood that her father called not out of concern for her, but because he feared that his career prospects might be ruined by her. Absolutely no one cared about her.
After her mother passed away, her father stopped caring for her. The stepmother he married paid attention only to her own family every day, or to the adopted daughter who had a brain tumor; she never saw her at all.
The reasons she bullied her ssmates wereplex: first, she needed a way to vent her frustrations; second, she felt genuine jealousy towards Wendy; and third, she hoped to gain her father’s attention through her
actions.
“You little bastard. I’m your father. How can you talk to me like this?” Marcus frowned, his words full of reproach. “I remarried to give you aplete family, for your sake.”
“Stop trying to glorify yourself. You are doing this for your own sake.” J wiped iaway /iher tears and said stubbornly, “What I want are my families.”
Marcus suddenly felt powerless. ‘How could my daughter have changed like this?‘ he wondered.
“J, how did you be like this?” Marcus sighed. “You don’t need to concern yourself with this matter anymore. I’ve already asked Fiona to handle it. You’d better behave yourself from now on.” fna8e2 Fresh chapters posted on F?nd-Novel/fna8e2
After saying that, he hung up the phone, but the anger in his heart still lingered.
Suddenly, he forcefully threw the documents in his hand onto the floor, scattering papers everywhere with a loud crashing sound.
In an instant, everyone’s attention was focused on him. Only then did Marcus realize hispse inposure. He gave a few embarrassed smiles and bent down to pick up the items.
‘When will J finally allow me some peace of mind? She always makes me clean up the mess she leaves behind, he thought,
On the other side, J was listening to the beeping sound on the phone and was slowly sliding down the wall.
“I don’t need you to help.” J tried hard to hold her head high, not letting her tears fall.
In the office, people waited, but the municipal party secretary did not show up. Some individuals, unable to contain themselves, began to whisper.
“Why has the municipal party secretary not arrived yet? Has something happened?” One whispered.
“What are you talking about? Who would be so reckless as to challenge the municipal partymittee? All of us will have to make a living under him in the future.” Another chimed in.

“Alright. His official position is no less significant than Mr. Saunders’s; both are prominent figures whom we cannot afford to offend,” a third voice added.
“It’s really strange today. Mr. Saunders did note either.” Someone else gossiped.
Marcus had just finished picking up the items and had just sat down when he heard these things. For some reason, he felt a bit unsettled.
‘It must be because of that troublesome girl,‘ he thought. When he got back, he was going to have to discipline her properly.
Connor Vale showed no trace of impatience in response to the discussions among his subordinates. He was aware of Victor’s whereabouts.
The iing municipal party secretary was also an interesting young man. He said he wanted to go for a walk through the alleyways with Stanley to look into people’s livelihood issues.
Connor did not dare to voice any opinions and only fully supported the decisions of the leaders.
