CHAPTER 53: BANK (2)

Andrew’s eyes fell on Adam. "Adam you have come at the perfect time," he said with a bright smile. "Meet him. This is the public face of the bank. The owner. His name is Logan."

Logan gave a small polite smile after hearing Adam’s name. He extended his hand forward to shake Adam’s. "Nice to meet you," he said his voice smooth and professional.

"You must be Sir Andrew’s friend." Andrew had not told Logan anything about Adam.

He had not told him who the real owner of this bank was. Logan assumed that Andrew a man who had hired him and paid him a very large sum of money was the true owner of this bank.

Just then Smith came forward. He also extended his hand to meet Logan. But Logan was very surprised to see this young boy. He did not know who he was. He just looked at him with a confused expression.

Logan looked at Andrew with a confused expression. Andrew looked back at Logan.

He gestured toward Smith. "This is Smith," he said his voice clear and confident. "He is the CEO of this bank. And he will be the one to manage this bank completely."

Logan was very surprised to hear this. He pointed a finger at Smith. "This kid?" he asked his voice a mixture of disbelief and contempt. "This kid will manage this bank?"

Andrew had found Logan during his search for a employees for the bank. Logan was an out-of-work actor. He was handsome charismatic and desperate. Andrew had prepared him to be the owner of the bank for the general public.

He had told him that a fixed amount of money 1.5 million dollars would be deposited into his bank account every month. For Logan who was in search of a job this was a dream come true. He had not asked any questions. He had just accepted the offer.

Now Logan was about to say something rude about Smith. He was about to question his so-called boss’s decision. But then he remembered his position.

He realized that he was just an employee. A hired actor.

Whatever his real owner wanted he had to do it all. He could not afford to lose this job. So he swallowed his words.

Then he looked at Smith again. He thought This boy must be from a very rich family too. Logan looked at the new bank building. He thought These people will have to close this bank very soon. They don’t know what they are doing.

Just then another man in a suit came there. He went in front of Andrew and Smith. "Sir almost all the work is completed," he said. "Now you can open the bank."

Andrew moved forward. He took Logan with him to the front of the crowd. Adam and Smith were also walking behind him. A few other people who were part of the initial management team were also walking behind them.

Adam saw that there were security guards standing outside their new bank. Their number was quite good. They were all dressed in new uniforms. Seeing this he guessed that Andrew was very good at human resource management.

In fact Andrew did a very good job in many things. He was smart resourceful and a great judge of character. But because he had never been given any real opportunity he had never been able to show all these skills before.

Then they saw that many people were gathered outside the bank. They were all dressed in new uniforms. They were the ones who were going to work in this bank now.

They were the employees of the Shining Star Bank. And they were all waiting for Andrew Smith and Logan. They started clapping as they approached.

Adam was walking next to them. He was a part of the procession but he was also separate from it. Although everyone was there no one recognized Adam. No one knew that he was the real owner of this bank.

He was just another face in the crowd. Just then Adam moved a little to the side after seeing all of them. He stepped back into the shadows.

Andrew was a little surprised when Adam refused to join them at the front. He gestured towards Adam again trying to call him forward.

But Adam just shook his head and refused. Andrew was very surprised to see this but he did not have time to think about it. The ceremony was starting.

Just then Logan was handed a pair of golden scissors. He was made to cut the ceremonial ribbon and the Shining Star Bank was officially inaugurated.

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony Adam Andrew Smith and Logan went inside the main office. They saw that the office was very big. It was also very lavish.

In the middle of the office there was a large imposing desk made of polished wood. Behind it was a very big leather chair. The chair of the owner of this bank.

In front of that desk there were three smaller but still very comfortable chairs. And at a short distance to the side there were two plush sofas and many other expensive-looking things in this office.

As soon as all these people went inside the office Logan immediately sat down on one of the sofas. He made himself comfortable.

But when he saw that Adam was sitting on the main chair behind the big desk the chair where the owner should be sitting and Andrew and Smith were sitting on the chairs opposite to him he was very surprised.

He thought Who is this boy, who is sitting on the main chair? What is going on here?

But ignoring Logan’s confusion Adam spoke. "Andrew did you talk to the marketing team?" he asked his voice now that of a true director.

"We are ready to spend as much amount as possible initially. But this bank should be talked about everywhere. I want everyone in Viper City to know the name Shining Star Bank by the end of the week."
