One Night Bride: Master Blackwood's Substitute Wife
Chapter 14: Master Blackwood, Please Help Me
CHAPTER 14: CHAPTER 14: MASTER BLACKWOOD, PLEASE HELP ME
Tonight, Sebastian Blackwood has an international meeting with a German software company, hence a few translators were temporarily hired for the occasion.
Upon seeing Ivy Kensington, the man’s stern face showed no change, as if he was looking at a stranger.
Ivy was a bit nervous at first, but when she saw the man’s indifferent expression, her nervousness was instantly replaced by heartache.
It seemed that after last night’s incident, he truly despised her.
Even though this was the outcome she wanted, Ivy still felt sad for a while.
However, she didn’t forget her work for tonight.
The meeting lasted three hours, and Ivy diligently did her job as a translator.
At the end, the other party’s chief even specifically mentioned Ivy’s name: "Translator Kensington is excellent."
Ivy smiled and thanked him for the compliment in German.
Sebastian squinted slightly, thinking this woman indeed had some capability.
"Tonight’s translation payment will be processed by tomorrow; the Blackwood Group won’t delay it."
Upon exiting the meeting room, Ivy saw a message from the person in charge and replied with a received.
Just as she’d sent the message, a middle-aged man around fifty suddenly rushed over and hugged her tightly.
"Honey, I’ve finally found you!"
Ivy was completely taken aback.
Who is this?
She didn’t know him at all!
"I’m Bruno Langley, remember? Four years ago at The Grandeur Hotel, you climbed into my bed yourself. I heard you even had a daughter for me, so now our family is finally reunited."
Bruno said with a smile, grabbing Ivy’s wrist and trying to drag her to the hotel downstairs.
When Ivy heard the words The Grandeur Hotel, her face turned pale.
It was at that place where the Kensington Family sold her!
"I don’t know you. Go away!"
Ivy panicked for a second but quickly calmed down, trying to break free from Bruno’s grip.
The commotion quickly attracted the attention of many people.
Ivy was trembling all over; everything from four years ago was a nightmare for her. Regardless of whether this man was the one from back then or not, Ivy couldn’t go with him.
"Could someone please call the police? I don’t know him..."
"Nonsense, you’re my wife, how could you not recognize me?"
Seeing Ivy asking for help, Bruno cursed: "The child’s already three years old, and you still say you don’t know me? What kind of nonsense is this?"
Then he spoke to the crowd watching: "What are you looking at? Just having a row with my own wife, what’s there to see?"
The crowd, seeing Bruno’s earnest declaration, initially had doubts, but soon they felt it wasn’t their place to interfere.
"There’s nothing interesting about other people’s family affairs, let’s just leave."
Seeing fewer and fewer people around, Ivy was nearly in despair.
Just then, she suddenly saw a familiar figure flash through the lobby ahead—it was Anne Linden!
Immediately, Ivy understood.
This man was clearly arranged by Anne Linden!
"You’re not the man from four years ago," Ivy announced certainly. "I’m not going anywhere with you."
Bruno, seeing his identity exposed, showed no fear and became even bolder: "In any case, you are my wife; you’re coming home with me tonight to sleep!"
He’d been a bachelor most of his life, and a few days ago someone approached him, offered him some money, and said he could get a wife just by acting out a scene. A deal with money and a free bride involved, of course, he couldn’t pass it up.
Bruno stubbornly insisted that Ivy was his wife, relentlessly pulling her toward the elevator.
Just then, the elevator doors opened.
Sebastian Blackwood, having finished the remaining tasks, came down from the hotel’s high-level meeting room.
Upon seeing him, Ivy felt as if she had grabbed the last straw to save her life: "Mr. Blackwood, please help me..."
