CHAPTER 19: CHAPTER 19: AN UNEXPECTED EMBRACE

"Come back to the Blackwood family with me, as a servant!"

Dahlia Kensington was smug and triumphant.

She wanted Ivy Kensington to witness her and Sebastian Blackwood’s affection!

Ivy clenched her fists tightly, knowing Dahlia’s intention to humiliate her, but now this was her only way. Entering the Blackwood family might let her learn more information about Ronnie.

"Alright!"

Ivy nodded.

When she arrived at the Blackwood family, Sebastian had not returned yet. Everyone in the Blackwood family was currently concerned with the matters of Old Madam Blackwood.

Dahlia knew Ivy was anxious, so she deliberately instructed her, "Clean all the rooms on the second floor by yourself, and clean the entire kitchen as well."

There were over a hundred rooms on the second floor, and the kitchen was nearly a hundred square meters as well. Ivy, that little wretch, should just work herself to death.

Ivy was aware of Dahlia’s petty tricks, saying more was useless, so she picked up the cleaning tools and started cleaning.

Ivy spent the entire day cleaning the house.

The servants in the Blackwood family knew she was specifically brought by Dahlia to be humiliated, so no one helped her.

It wasn’t until ten-thirty in the evening that Ivy finally finished cleaning the rooms and the kitchen.

At this moment, Sebastian Blackwood returned.

"Sebastian."

Dahlia had been waiting for the man to return and quickly went to greet him. "Are you tired? Do you want me to cook something for you?"

Sebastian pinched the bridge of his nose. Ever since Old Madam Blackwood suddenly became paralyzed, the people over at the Blackwood Estate started getting restless, especially Uncle Blackwood, who couldn’t keep his hands clean.

But Sebastian wouldn’t share these matters with Dahlia. He just said, "No need, I’m going to take a bath."

"I’ve already run the bath for you~"

Dahlia slipped her arm around Sebastian’s, speaking affectionately.

Ivy stood not far from them, her numb heart aching slightly.

She had been touched by Sebastian’s tenderness, but all that gentleness was given to her when she was pretending to be Dahlia. When she was Ivy, he would only loathe her like he did last night.

As Sebastian turned to go upstairs, his gaze swept over Ivy, and his footsteps paused.

Why is this woman here?

Dahlia noticed and explained, "Sebastian, Ivy has been working at my house since she was young. I’m used to it, so I brought her along. You don’t mind, do you?"

She’s just a servant; Sebastian wouldn’t pay much attention to such details.

He made a sound of acknowledgment and went upstairs.

Dahlia secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Once upstairs, Dahlia texted Ivy: [Come up too, kneel at the bedroom door. If I’m in a good mood, I might help you ask Sebastian about your daughter’s whereabouts!]

Ivy closed her eyes tightly. For Ronnie’s sake, she chose to endure for now.

Beside the bedroom door.

Sebastian had gone to the bathroom.

Dahlia, wearing seductive pajamas, looked down at Ivy from above, her lips curving into a high smile: "Tonight, I’m going to be intimate with Sebastian. You kneel at the door and don’t make a sound. When I wake up in the morning, I’ll help you ask about Ronnie."

Ivy knew Dahlia’s character and that she wouldn’t keep her word. She directly recorded what she said and added, "Within three days, I must know whether Ronnie is safe and where she was taken by the Blackwoods. Otherwise, don’t blame me for revealing what happened on the wedding night."

Dahlia’s eyes trembled; this damn woman had learned to threaten her?!

She wanted to curse, but at that moment, Sebastian had already come out of the bathroom.

He gazed at Ivy standing by the door, his eyes slightly cold, "Get out; there’s no need for you to stay here."

No homeowner liked a servant lingering by their bedroom door at night.

His words were exactly what Ivy wanted to hear; she didn’t want to kneel there according to Dahlia’s wishes anyway.

Responding with an affirmation, Ivy left without turning back.

Dahlia was so angry she almost lost her balance, that damn woman!

Composing herself, Dahlia sashayed over to Sebastian, asking seductively, "Sebastian, shall we go to sleep?"

She had sprayed on a strong perfume. Sebastian found it displeasing and instinctively pushed her away.

"The scent you wore on our wedding night was nice. Don’t use this perfume again."

After saying this, Sebastian turned and walked out, "I’ll be sleeping in the study tonight."

How could this be!

Dahlia’s face twisted in anger. She had carefully selected various perfumes and deliberately chose this particular one known for attracting men, yet he found it unpleasant, and even mentioned the scent on the wedding night was nice.

But the one who married over on the wedding night was Ivy!

Thinking of this made Dahlia feel like vomiting blood. No, tomorrow she must ask that damn Ivy what perfume she used.

In the middle of the night.

Ivy had been assigned the smallest servant’s room, just a tiny attic. She was too worried about Ronnie to sleep, so she went to sit in the kitchen alone, trimming the fresh flowers for the morning.

Suddenly, someone hugged her from behind.

The man’s warm body enveloped her, and she heard him say, "Why did you come down to the kitchen? Not used to sleeping alone?"

This voice, Sebastian Blackwood?!
