One Night Bride: Master Blackwood's Substitute Wife
Chapter 54: She Actually Hates Ivy Kensington
CHAPTER 54: CHAPTER 54: SHE ACTUALLY HATES IVY KENSINGTON
Soon, Wednesday arrived as promised.
Ivy Kensington, following Adrian Leighton’s instructions, arrived at Veridia Psychiatric Hospital.
Stanley Kensington’s work schedule was very consistent, arriving at the hospital promptly at ten every day. At 9:50, Ivy sat nervously in Adrian’s office.
Would she meet Yasmin Irvine, whom she had never seen before, today?
Adrian noticed her nervousness and poured her a cup of hot water. "Ivy, have some water."
"Thank you, Brother Adrian."
Ivy accepted it, absent-mindedly expressing her gratitude.
Ten o’clock arrived.
Sure enough, Stanley Kensington walked in.
Ivy quickly stood up, already dressed in the nurse’s uniform Adrian had prepared for her.
Today, she was to act as Adrian’s assistant and keep an eye on Stanley Kensington in the hospital.
At three in the afternoon, Stanley emerged from the director’s office.
Ivy immediately pushed a medical cart, posing as a nurse going to change medications, following closely behind him but maintaining a suitable distance.
Stanley seemed not to notice her and continued walking forward at a slow pace.
Until they reached a very dark storeroom, Stanley suddenly vanished!
Ivy was stunned. She had been following him. How could he just disappear?
The next second, an eerie voice sounded from behind her: "Sweet daughter, you’re still too naive."
Stanley was right behind her!
As Ivy turned around, a blow struck her neck, and she fainted instantly.
When she awoke again, Ivy found herself tied to a hospital bed.
Stanley sat opposite her.
"Dad..."
Involuntarily, Ivy called out to him.
Stanley’s lips curled as if into a smile. "Came to see your mother?"
He actually knew everything?
Ivy pursed her lips tightly, remaining silent.
"Indeed, your mother is not dead."
Pulling up a chair, Stanley sat opposite Ivy, openly admitting it.
Although Anne Linden had given her substantial evidence before, hearing Stanley personally confirm it left Ivy shocked.
Her mother was really still alive...
"Seeing her is easy," Stanley continued leisurely. "Do something for me."
What?
Ivy hadn’t expected Stanley would request something from her. After all, he had never looked at her properly since she was a child...
"Go to the Blackwood family and get the Heavenly Heart Lotus for me."
Stanley stated directly.
Heavenly Heart Lotus?
Studying medicinal herbs, Ivy naturally knew this rare medicine, used to save those at death’s door. Could this medicine be meant to save Yasmin Irvine?
"Your mother is dying. She needs this medicine."
Stanley’s voice suddenly turned somber, as if in pain.
She had guessed correctly.
For a moment, Ivy’s eyes welled up. She had never seen Yasmin Irvine, yet she was on the brink of death.
"You must obtain the Heavenly Heart Lotus within three days."
Composing himself, Stanley spoke again, then blindfolded Ivy and sent her away from there.
Unbeknownst to Ivy, as soon as she left, another door in the room opened, revealing Yasmin Irvine inside!
Yasmin lay on a hospital bed, her complexion pale yellow, her gaze fixed intently on the spot where Ivy had left, hatred clear in her eyes...
She hated, hated Ivy!
At this point, Stanley entered, gently caressing the woman’s hateful gaze, softly saying, "It’s alright, Yasmin. Once Ivy truly goes to the Blackwood family and retrieves the Heavenly Heart Lotus, she’ll be facing death herself... And by then, all this will come to an end!"
Yasmin was still able to hear, and tears slowly rolled down her cheeks...
