CHAPTER 602: CHAPTER 602: QUARRELING WITH MASTER BLACKWOOD

Sharon Langley’s voice choked.

She clenched her eyes shut before finally deciding to speak: "The child was indeed brought over by Evan Lowell, only... only the child is deformed, and the brain development is incomplete..."

Each word seemed to cut into Ivy Kensington’s heart; she was completely stunned.

A deformed child?

Incomplete brain development?

How could this happen?

Ivy couldn’t believe it. She clearly had undertaken every prenatal check-up during her pregnancy, and the reports showed no issues at all, so why was the baby born like this?

Even so, it’s still her child!

How could she not want it, and yet Sebastian Blackwood deceived her by bringing Claire Crowley’s child instead?

Ivy’s heart felt numb.

Perhaps... Sebastian was bitter because Claire Crowley gave him a healthy and adorable daughter, while she bore him a flawed child. Who’s to say?

"Master Blackwood, slow down!"

At this moment, Owen Rhodes’ anxious voice arrived.

Outside the illuminated hospital building at night, a tall figure walked in.

The man looked travel-worn, clearly rushing to get there, his black trench coat disheveled by the wind, black hair scattered across his forehead, adding an unrestrained vibe.

It was Sebastian Blackwood!

He saw the video Claire Crowley posted online and rushed back from abroad on the fastest jet!

"Ivy!"

As soon as he entered, he saw Ivy hunched on the ground, crying and trembling.

His heartbeat felt clenched by a giant hand; Sebastian’s breath heightened as he bent down the next second, cradling the woman horizontally in his arms.

Seeing him arrive, Sharon Langley realized her presence here was of no more use.

But before leaving, she told Sebastian, "Master Blackwood, you better explain to Ivy why you brought Claire Crowley’s child and pretended it’s hers."

Otherwise, given Ivy’s sensitivity now, who knows what she’ll imagine.

Sebastian paused his steps briefly and replied coldly after a moment, "I know, I don’t need you to teach me."

As arrogant and self-centered as ever.

Returning to the ward, Sebastian placed the woman on the bed, covering her with a blanket, his deep voice easing, "We’ll talk about this tomorrow. You should rest well first."

After speaking, he intended to turn off the ward lights, but Ivy suddenly gripped his arm tightly.

Her hands were shaking, but her words were stubborn: "I want to see my daughter."

Sebastian’s eyes darkened slightly.

Not right now.

At least not before the child completes the deformity surgery.

"Be good."

His Adam’s apple bobbed as he comfortingly patted her small hand, coaxing, "You’ll see her later, there’s no rush now."

Ha.

But Ivy only felt a chill sweep over her.

Why is he unwilling to let her see the child?

If not because he thinks she bore a freak!

For this reason, he’s even willing to take Claire Crowley’s child to deceive her; this man is simply terrifying!

"Sebastian Blackwood, I must see the baby tonight."

Her voice was stubborn, carrying a resolute defiance.

Sebastian’s brow twitched, his tone heavy when speaking again: "Ivy, don’t make trouble."

Fearing she’d be provoked by Claire Crowley, he specifically ended his work abroad early, taking nearly a ten-hour flight here, now exhausted and with little energy left to argue with her on this matter.

Make trouble?

Ivy found the term laughable.

"I want to see my daughter, is this considered making trouble!"

What right does he have to prevent her from seeing her!
