"Young Master Doflamingo left and hasn’t returned. Could something have happened?"
Pica, one of the Donquixote Family’s top executives, voiced her concern. Despite her imposing height, Pica’s voice was strikingly high-pitched.
Hearing Pica’s worry, Diamante
chuckled. "What could possibly happen to the Young Master? I’m sure he’s just been delayed by other matters!"
Diamante then pulled out the Flare-Flare Fruit he’d prepared long ago. "The most important thing right now is today’s performance!"
"You need to be careful, don’t let anyone actually steal the Flare-Flare Fruit! After all, it’s just a gimmick!" Pica warned.
Diamante casually tossed the Devil Fruit in his hand. "Don’t worry! I know exactly what I’m doing!"
The Colosseum Battle Intensifies
Meanwhile, the battle in the arena was raging. In the original timeline, the final four combatants were Lucy, Burgess, Bartolomeo, and Rebecca. However, the unexpected arrival of Ace had changed everything.
Group D’s original victor was the incredibly lucky Rebecca. But with Ace’s participation, he unleashed his full power, ending the battle swiftly and leaving no chance for anyone else.
While Ace was fighting, Monkey D. Luffy also reunited with his long-lost brother, Sabo. Upon seeing each other, Luffy naturally burst into tears and embraced his brother. Sabo, though equally thrilled to see his younger brother, remained more composed, a testament to his newfound maturity.
However, when Sabo saw that Ace was alive, he, too, experienced a moment of overwhelming emotion, burying his face in his hands and crying uncontrollably. The surprise was profound. Ace had never expected to see Sabo again, let alone a Sabo from another world. This Sabo then revealed how to revive Ace in this world. Eager to bring his brother back, Sabo readily agreed to help.
For now, with Luffy and Ace in the arena, Sabo could only watch. But he was ready to intervene if anything went awry.
The Final Showdown
Finally, the top four emerged, and the final battle commenced. As Diamante made his appearance, the commentator began explaining the rules for the grand finale. The rules were simple: the winner would claim the Flare-Flare Fruit, which was tied to a fighting fish.
Simple as they were, some participants had no intention of following them, namely Luffy and Ace. As soon as the battle began, they immediately charged towards the fighting fish carrying the copper box, intent on seizing the Flare-Flare Fruit.
Jesus Burgess of the Blackbeard Pirates, who had come to obtain the Flare-Flare Fruit himself, naturally wouldn’t let them succeed. Diamante, who never intended to hand over the Flare-Flare Fruit, also stepped forward to block them.
Burgess lunged at Ace with an elbow, while Diamante held his cloak out, using his Flutter-Flutter Fruit ability to transform it into a hardened shield to stop Luffy.
Seeing this, Luffy and Ace simultaneously unleashed their fists, both covered in Ryou Armament Haki. They punched the two obstructing figures.
Ace’s punch shattered Burgess’s elbow pads instantly, demonstrating the ’Defense-Breaking’ effect of Ryou. The blow not only destroyed the pads but also fractured Burgess’s elbow bones. This single punch effectively knocked Burgess out of the competition.
"How...how can you be so strong?" Burgess stammered, clutching his arm in disbelief.
Diamante fared no better. Ryou’s ’Defense-Breaking’ effect shattered his shield, and then Luffy’s punch landed squarely. Compared to Burgess, Diamante’s defense was even weaker; the punch likely broke countless bones!
With Burgess and Diamante dealt with, only Luffy’s devoted fanboy, Bartolomeo, remained. He, of course, would never attack Luffy. In this way, Luffy and Ace easily secured the Flare-Flare Fruit.
Underground Developments
Meanwhile, Sugar had endured too many horrifying experiences and was reaching her mental breaking point. Ikki also planned to revive her.
"Now, it’s up to you two, Captain America and Kakashi!"
At the underground port, Kakashi and Captain America, who were supposed to be guarding Sugar, were engaged in battle with two Donquixote Family executives, Dellinger and Lao G.
They hadn’t been discovered due to their own actions, but because a group of Tontattas, led by the one-legged toy soldier, attempted to sneak attack the sleeping Sugar. Dellinger and Lao G, who were on guard duty that day, intercepted them.
Though the Tontattas were skilled, they were no match for the two executives. Just as Dellinger was about to eliminate several of the small humans, Captain America couldn’t stand idly by.
He pulled out his flashlight, transformed to his original size, and rushed forward, saving the Tontattas. Seeing this, Kakashi had no choice but to join Captain America in the fight.
Captain America, shield in hand, fought Dellinger. Since Dellinger was a direct threat to the Tontattas, Captain America found him relatively easy to handle. On the other side, Kakashi utilized various intricate Ninjutsu, completely suppressing Lao G.
While fighting, Kakashi kept a vigilant eye on Sugar’s movements using his Observation Haki. After all, the primary objective of this mission revolved around her. Now, after Obito’s death, Kakashi deeply understood the value of a partner. Captain America was his partner, so he didn’t hesitate to abandon the original mission to assist him.
Even though the primary task was momentarily set aside, it didn’t mean it couldn’t be completed.
"G...." Lao G’s Jabby Punch was incredibly fast, and he repeatedly shouted "G" as he attacked.
"Genjutsu: False Darkness Technique!"
Just as Lao G closed within a meter of Kakashi, Kakashi activated his Sharingan’s Genjutsu. The technique caused Lao G’s body to freeze as if pierced by several invisible iron nails.
Simultaneously, in an inconspicuous corner, a burst of lightning exploded, and Kakashi, wielding his Raikiri, rushed towards Lao G. The Raikiri pierced directly through Lao G’s chest, killing him instantly.
The moment Kakashi defeated Lao G, Sugar awakened from her sleep. Perhaps due to the series of terrifying events she had endured, Sugar was still disoriented.
But before she could fully recover, a monstrous grimace suddenly appeared before her eyes. Sugar, already mentally fragile from the various horror movies, was so terrified that she rolled her eyes and fainted.
Seeing Sugar collapse, Kakashi’s clone removed his mask and muttered, "Thankfully, I used the Body Flicker Technique to catch up."
The instant Sugar fainted, chaos erupted across Dressrosa. People and beasts who had been transformed into toys reverted to their original forms, and lost memories of loved ones began to return. Such commotions swept across the entire island.
Doflamingo’s Return
At the same time, Donquixote Doflamingo and Monet returned to Dressrosa.
When Doflamingo was initially captured, Smoker naturally informed Fleet Admiral Akainu. Upon learning of Doflamingo’s capture, the World Government decisively ordered Smoker to release him.
Smoker, understandably, didn’t want to release a Warlord of the Sea he had finally caught, but the World Government’s stance was unyielding, forcing him to comply.
Thus, Doflamingo was released before even reaching Marine Headquarters and immediately rushed back to Dressrosa.
On his way, he encountered Jack the Drought of the Beast Pirates. Doflamingo was thrilled to see Jack, as he was in dire need of assistance.
After all, he had been thoroughly defeated once before, and if he ran into the Straw Hats now, he’d surely face another crushing defeat. Knowing that Doflamingo was going to confront the Straw Hat Pirates, Jack readily agreed; he, too, had a mission from his own boss!
Upon Doflamingo’s arrival home, he discovered his beloved Dressrosa had been thrown into disarray. As a last resort, he activated his Birdcage.
"Today... no one leaves this island!"
"Straw Hat... Law... and that... Hammer!"
