CHAPTER 79: CHAPTER 79: DESTINATION ALABASTA! THE SEVEN WARLORDS OF THE SEA!

Seeing the situation, Crocus didn’t wait for the group to ask further questions and continued his explanation proactively:

"You might not fully understand why navigating the Grand Line absolutely requires a Log Pose."

"That’s because every island scattered across the Grand Line carries a unique magnetic field."

"The Log Pose’s function is to record the magnetic attraction between islands."

"It allows you to pinpoint the exact route to the next island."

"No need for a compass—just sail in the direction the pointer indicates."

"At the start, you’ll need to choose one of the seven magnetic routes originating from Reverse Mountain before you can continue your journey."

"These magnetic fields, no matter which island you start from, will eventually converge and connect into a single route."

"And the island at the end of that route is called Raftel."

At this, Nami’s eyes sparkled with excitement, and she couldn’t help but ask curiously:

"Is it true that Raftel holds the legendary One Piece?"

Karina’s eyes lit up as well, her curiosity piqued.

After all, the term "One Piece" sounded like it was tied to an immense treasure.

"Uh..."

Crocus fell silent for a few seconds before giving an ambiguous response:

"Who knows? That’s certainly the most widespread rumor out there."

"But aside from the Pirate King and his crew, no one has ever truly reached that place."

"So, no one can confirm it for sure."

Hearing this, Karina and Nami’s faces showed a hint of disappointment.

Will, however, gave Crocus a meaningful glance after hearing his words.

Still, he didn’t deliberately expose Crocus’s past as a member of Roger’s crew.

After all, compared to the so-called great treasure, Will was far more interested in the adventures ahead and finding powerful opponents to test his strength against.

With that in mind, Will decided not to waste any more time and turned to Karina, asking:

"Karina, check the Eternal Pose. Where’s it pointing to?"

Though he already had a hunch, he wanted to confirm.

"Let me see..."

Karina immediately examined the Eternal Pose closely, noticing a name etched on its wooden frame:

"It says... it’s a place called Alabasta."

"Perfect."

Will flashed a satisfied smile and made a swift decision:

"No need to choose from those seven magnetic routes. We’re heading straight to Alabasta!"

"Huh?!"

Karina and Nami let out surprised gasps in unison.

"Hm?!"

Even Crocus, usually calm, couldn’t hide a flicker of surprise at this unexpected decision.

After all, most newcomers to the Grand Line typically chose one of the seven starting islands along the magnetic routes as their first destination.

This was the first time he’d seen someone decide to head directly to the island indicated by an Eternal Pose as their very first stop.

At that moment, Vivi, who had been lying motionless on the ground, twitched slightly upon hearing this.

Seeing that Will didn’t seem to be joking, Karina couldn’t help but ask curiously:

"Captain, why the sudden decision to go there?"

Will didn’t bother hiding his intentions, his tone carrying a trace of anticipation as he said bluntly:

"Because there’s a pretty strong guy in Alabasta."

"And I’m itching to test his mettle!"

"Oh, I see," Karina and Nami exchanged glances, both breaking into helpless smiles.

They didn’t know where their captain got his information, but they knew all too well that once he made a decision, no one could change his mind.

At this point, Crocus suddenly spoke up:

"Madman Will, the person you’re talking about... it wouldn’t happen to be one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Sir Crocodile, would it?"

Will raised an eyebrow. He hadn’t expected Crocus to bring it up, but he answered candidly:

"That’s right. It’s him."

"If Crocodile wasn’t there, I probably wouldn’t be in such a rush to head to the Alabasta Kingdom."

Upon hearing this, Vivi, still lying on the ground, twitched again, unable to hide her reaction.

Karina froze for a moment before exclaiming in shock:

"One of the Seven Warlords of the Sea?!"

"What’s that? Is it something special?" Nami asked, her curiosity evident.

"Absolutely," Karina said, her expression growing serious. "The Seven Warlords of the Sea are notorious pirates officially recognized by the World Government."

"It’s said that every member possesses catastrophic destructive power and strength rivaling entire nations."

"Only pirates with immense fame or overwhelming power capable of intimidating others are invited by the World Government to join the Warlords."

"What?!" Nami’s face paled, her expression one of shock. "So this Crocodile guy is one of those Seven Warlords?!"

"Correct," Crocus nodded slightly, then turned to Will. "That guy’s strength is no joke."

"But with your current reputation and power, you don’t have much to fear from him."

Will neither confirmed nor denied this, simply accepting it with silence.

Deep down, though, he hoped Crocodile’s strength would exceed his expectations.

Not wanting to linger any longer, Will looked down at Vivi and said coldly:

"Alright, how long are you going to keep pretending? Get up already."

Vivi, still lying on the ground, froze for a few seconds before realizing she couldn’t keep up the act. She quickly stood up.

"You were awake this whole time?!" Nami and Karina exclaimed, finally catching on.

Crocus, standing to the side, had already noticed but hadn’t bothered to call her out.

As Vivi stood, her expression was tense. She glanced nervously at the tall man before her.

Upon seeing his striking features, she immediately confirmed his identity.

After all, she had just read the latest newspaper before coming here.

"Madman Will..."

"I’m done for... How did I get caught by a guy this terrifying...?"

Even now, she still didn’t understand why she had suddenly passed out earlier.

And her partner was still lying there, unconscious.

But Will didn’t care what she was thinking. He got straight to the point:

"Spill it. Why do you have an Eternal Pose pointing to Alabasta?"
