One Piece: Silent-Silent Fruit
Chapter 87 88: S+ Level Threat Assessment
After receiving Steelbone Kong's order, Garp immediately rushed into the depths of Marineford.
Halfway there, he suddenly remembered—he needed to find Kuzan first. So he turned sharply and sprinted toward the direction of the A1 armory. However, before he could make it halfway, he saw Kuzan already running toward him.
"Oi, brat Kuzan! What are you doing here? Weren't you pinned down by the enemy?" Garp asked.
"Well," Kuzan replied lazily, "I saw the A3 armory get blown up. Figured the enemy wouldn't be able to focus on me anymore, so I found an opening and slipped away."
"Hmph! So Bins really knows how to use that Hole-Hole Fruit well, huh?" Garp said with a grunt.
"He set up a dense array of spatial coordinates along the path to the A1 armory," Kuzan explained. "Using those, he could snipe me with high-powered rifles at close range. I walked right into his trap and couldn't get out. I only managed to escape because they were busy transporting other pirates to safety—that gave me the chance to break free."
"I see. Then go now and put out those fires. You're the only one capable of dealing with them. I'll head to A1 myself," Garp ordered.
"Got it. But Vice Admiral, be careful. Those rifles are no joke. They hit hard, especially at close range," Kuzan warned.
"Pfft, brat! This old man doesn't need you worrying about him!" Garp replied dismissively.
With that, he handed off the soldiers to Kuzan and rushed solo toward the A1 armory.
But as he ran, Garp suddenly stopped in his tracks. His instincts screamed danger. Something wasn't right ahead.
He frowned and scanned his surroundings. Acting like he noticed nothing, he casually stepped forward.
Meanwhile, inside the Dimensional Assault Command Room in the Pica Temple, Bins was fuming.
He'd been distracted organizing the retreat of Teams Three, Four, and Five, which had allowed Kuzan to escape the trap. Now, seeing Garp step into the dimensional trap zone, his heart nearly stopped.
"It's Garp... Garp is here!"
In the Kingdom of Joromia, Bins had seen Garp's power firsthand. The mere memory made his blood run cold.
"Everyone, get ready! Prepare to engage! I repeat—GARP is here! This is a red alert! GARP has entered the kill zone!" Bins shouted.
"The captain classified Garp's threat level as S+. That means even a single mistake could get us all killed!"
The moment his words hit the room, everyone stood to attention. No more hesitation—just cold, sharp focus.
Rosinante had used his knowledge from his past life's anime to create a ranking system for the world's top powerhouses. Garp had been classified as S+, placing him among the most dangerous beings alive. Kuzan and Sakazuki were only rated as A- at this stage, as they hadn't reached their full future strength yet—though they had S-level potential.
S-level meant a world-class threat. And only a few had reached that level. According to Rosinante's system, Whitebeard alone ranked above Garp as SS.
Of course, Rosinante's rankings were incomplete—based only on the unfinished anime from his original world—but Bins had taken the evaluation seriously. He used Grey Nation's intelligence network to refine it further, building a valuable reference system to determine strike protocols based on different danger levels.
"Garp has entered the dimensional trap zone! Everyone, prepare for engagement!" Bins commanded again.
The sharpshooters gripped their specialized rifles, aligning their sights with the small mirrors positioned ahead.
Most of these soldiers had been veterans from the Kingdom of Joromia. They knew just how terrifying Garp was.
This was the man who had nearly single-handedly destroyed Grey Kingdom in the past.
Just then—CRACK!
Multiple bullets flew at Garp, skimming along the edge of his body.
But Garp didn't even flinch.
In the blink of an eye—before anyone could even register the movement—he had shifted his position. By the time his figure reappeared, the bullets had missed completely.
"What?! Impossible!" Bins was stunned. "We completely sealed off his retreat path! How did he dodge that?!"
"Reload! Fire again!" Bins barked.
Even if Kuzan had escaped, Bins had felt a surge of confidence from successfully trapping him earlier. But now, seeing Garp dodge their attacks like a phantom, that confidence shattered.
"Yes, sir!" the snipers responded.
Ryan and Winter exchanged a look. Both swallowed hard.
"No wonder he could stall Kuzan…" Garp himself looked surprised as he glanced around the trap-laden field.
Though he made it look effortless, only Garp knew the truth—he had gone full-alert. Had he been even slightly less focused, he would have taken a hit.
Tight spatial tunnels that opened next to the body, paired with enhanced sniper bullets—separately, a skilled vice admiral might evade them. But together, the combination was devilishly hard to dodge.
As Garp was thinking this, another wave of bullets materialized out of thin air.
He smirked.
Snatch!
He plucked one bullet straight out of the air with his fingers while flashing to the side, easily dodging the rest.
"This bullet's pretty unique," he muttered, examining the slender, razor-sharp projectile between his thumb and forefinger. "Custom design, huh?"
"No... No way!" Bins's voice trembled. "That was a point-blank sniper shot through a dimensional rift! How is he dodging them so easily?!"
"Commander, we should order Team One to retreat now," Ryan suggested. "You know full well how insane that monster Garp is. We'll never hold him!"
"Yeah," Winter added, "That guy's a freak. Captain wouldn't rate him S+ for nothing."
Rosinante had left strict orders: if they ever encountered an overwhelmingly strong opponent, they were to pull out immediately. Preserving the core team was top priority.
"Just one more round! Even if we can't hold him, we need time! At least enough for Team One to retreat!" Bins roared.
"Understood!" the snipers said.
Ryan and Winter exchanged another look. Worry filled their eyes.
Back on the field, Garp was still fiddling with the bullet in his hand. Then, with a grin, he flicked it forward.
BOOM!
The bullet shot out like a meteor, faster than the projectile speed of the Grey Kingdom's advanced rifles.
Just as he launched it, another sniper round emerged from the void above him.
This time, Garp didn't dodge.
Bang bang bang!
Several bullets slammed into him.
But his powerful Armament Haki soaked up the impact, leaving him unharmed.
Garp was fine.
But someone else wasn't.
As Bins opened another spatial rift and his team fired off another volley, a single bullet—fired from outside their trap—silently entered through the portal.
It was too fast. The sniper guarding the portal didn't even react in time.
Thunk!
The bullet pierced his skull—clean, silent, and lethal.
He dropped dead instantly.
