One Piece: Transmigrated as Crocodile
Chapter 230 - CHAPTER 230 - The Fierce Battle Begins – Elemental Powers Clash
As soon as Enel saw Rosen, his rage from both past and present exploded. He raised his hand and unleashed a divine judgment— a massive pillar of lightning blasted toward Rosen, who simply stood there with a calm smile.
Boom!
A thunderous explosion shook the air as Rosen was engulfed by the lightning. The towering trees behind him were flattened in an instant.
"Yahahaha! Got careless, didn't you, Blue Sea dweller?!" Enel was briefly stunned. He hadn't expected the attack to land. Had his opponent let his guard down and failed to react?
Either way, what mattered was that the attack connected—because to Enel, anyone struck by a lightning pillar was as good as dead.
"Unfortunately for you, you're not the only one with a Logia-type power. No need to hide anymore—surprised?" When the lightning dissipated, Rosen stood there completely unscathed.
As long as there's no elemental counter, Logia abilities are extremely difficult to deal with. Enel clearly didn't know how to use Armament Haki, despite his strong Devil Fruit power.
Rosen had kept his Logia nature hidden at Midway Island to catch Enel off guard. Still, he didn't consider himself invincible—his sand form had clear weaknesses.
If Enel's destructive force with a technique like Raigo could obliterate an island, it might well incinerate sand on impact.
While sand has high resistance to electricity, it's not like rubber. These were just Rosen's logical conclusions—but only actual combat would prove them right or wrong. Still, he doubted reality would stray far from his assumptions.
Raigo remained the only move Rosen truly needed to watch out for. It was potentially dangerous—though only potentially. After all, Logia users were still notoriously hard to injure.
"No way! Thunder Dragon!" Enel was startled as Rosen walked toward him unharmed. Could Rosen really be immune to all attacks?
"Soru: Thunder Shadow!" Rosen had advanced his speed technique in the direction of its most powerful form.
He transformed into a stream of sand and instantly appeared behind Enel, conjuring his Golden Sand Sword covered in Haki and thrusting it forward.
Sensing danger, Enel transformed into lightning and reappeared on the opposite side of the Ark.
Furious, he shouted a command—remarkably, the Ark's sophisticated voice system kicked in, and the ship began rumbling to life.
"That's a fine ship… though the design's a bit ugly," Rosen commented sincerely.
Setting aside the looks, this Ark—built with massive amounts of gold, manpower, and resources—was impressive. It could fly, generate large thunderclouds, and even respond to voice commands.
Considering that Enel and the Skypieans came from the moon and could travel through space, it was clear their scientific capabilities weren't low.
As Enel's voice rang out, the Ark began to operate. Liquids inside the ship started to evaporate, and thunderclouds rolled out across the sky. In an instant, darkness fell, thunder roared, and lightning crackled.
"Let's see if you can withstand all of this! Million Thunder!" Enel laughed coldly. The Ark enhanced his powers, producing vast amounts of lightning he could control at will.
Boom!
The storm above grew even more intense than what Rosen had seen at Midway Island—larger, fiercer. Clearly, Enel had developed his abilities to a high level.
He had even created a wide-scale thundercloud environment ideal for unleashing his power.
Crack! Lightning tore through the sky as oppressive black clouds loomed overhead. The world seemed suffocated—heavy, ominous, like disaster was inevitable.
"What's going on at the Holy Land? Why such a massive storm? Has Enel lost it? I have to check…" Gan Fall was deeply uneasy. This storm alarmed all of Angel Island. Even Cloud-Hidden Village dispatched warriors to investigate.
Crack—Crack! A bolt of lightning struck Rosen, passing harmlessly through his body. Instead, it blasted gaping holes in the Ark's deck.
Swish! Rosen raised his hand and fired 33 rounds of Black Hell Bullets, then thrust both hands upward. Two massive infernal sand whirlwinds erupted, shooting toward Enel like volcanic eruptions.
"Raijin—200 million volts!" Realizing Rosen was far stronger and faster than expected, Enel could no longer hold back. He transformed into a colossal, lightning-infused form—an actual thunder god in appearance.
As Rosen's attack approached, Enel struck with a palm, firing off 200 million volts that shredded the incoming whirlwind assault.
Rosen used the opening to rush in, but Enel, wary of the Blue Sea people's fearsome close combat, immediately transformed into lightning and vanished into the storm clouds.
Zing! A bolt struck near Hathaway, but she deflected it with her sword.
"Not bad," Rosen muttered as his close-quarters attempt failed. He grew more serious.
Pointless clashes of elemental attacks weren't the outcome he wanted. He aimed to win. With Haki on his side, if he got close enough, Enel wouldn't stand a chance.
Enel clearly understood that as well.
Boom boom boom!
Rosen used Moonwalk while manipulating more infernal sand tornadoes, launching them into the clouds in an attempt to block Enel's escape and interfere with Raigo's formation.
From the start of the battle, Rosen had sensed Enel splitting his lightning to stimulate and control the storm clouds.
Once Raigo was formed, even if it didn't kill him, its sheer destructive power would wipe out Skypiea. That was unacceptable.
The gold, the ruins, the Poneglyph—Rosen had already set his sights on them. While the Poneglyph might survive, if the island was destroyed and it fell into some unknown abyss, that would be a problem.
He couldn't let Raigo be unleashed. The tornadoes whirled into the thunderclouds, disrupting the forming technique and angering Enel—but Rosen had already closed in.
"Damn it! Radiant Shock!" If lightning attacks failed, Enel still had light and heat at his disposal. He had once used lightning to melt gold and emit dazzling light.
Now, he tried again—lightning surged along his golden staff, which instantly morphed into a glowing trident. A blinding flash burst forth.
Rosen closed his eyes. He wasn't the only one who could use Observation Haki. Even with his eyes shut, he could still fight. He wasn't fully attuned yet, but it was enough for now.
Enel had used his own Observation Haki to evade Rosen's strikes several times already. Combined with his speed, it made him very hard to approach.
But delivering real damage to Rosen? That was still beyond him.
Despite the ferocious clash between them, filled with sandstorms and lightning tearing across the heavens in apocalyptic fury, neither of them had sustained any real injuries.
