Chapter 246: Duel with Altair, Wind’s True Intent
CHAPTER 246: CHAPTER 246: DUEL WITH ALTAIR, WIND’S TRUE INTENT
"Hmph. I’m a Domain. I keep my word. I won’t use cheap tricks," Altair said coldly, and he stopped hiding.
He had thought about messing with Atlas and the other two, but Jack was still under Johnnie’s control. He couldn’t cut the soul contract, so he didn’t dare make a move.
"Good." Johnnie handed over 300 Spiritual Stones on the spot. He wasn’t afraid of tricks; worst case, he’d just kill him.
Altair took the Spiritual Stones, raised his hand, and three streams of pure power of laws surged out and sank into Atlas, Finn, and Bellina.
Buzz!
As the power of laws fell on them, the three were bathed in this blessing. Their bodies didn’t change, but they all got a prompt:
Special Law Blessing: You can revive on the spot after death.
"How is it?" Johnnie asked as he felt the power fade, worried Altair might have tampered with them.
They checked themselves. Nothing seemed off.
"All good. We can log off normally now," Atlas said.
"Good." Johnnie let out a breath. If they could leave the game normally, they were much safer.
"Human, do you want me to keep casting law blessings? The Divine powerhouse by your side won’t be affected, but others who enter the Land of Confusion can’t leave easily," Altair said, glancing at Benz.
He clearly wanted more Spiritual Stones.
"No need," Johnnie refused. He could put Benz into the Map of Heaven and Earth, and moving through the black fog wouldn’t be a problem.
Besides, even with the blessing, Benz wasn’t a player and couldn’t revive after death.
Altair looked a bit disappointed, but said nothing more.
He wanted to attack Johnnie right away, but without cutting the soul contract, he worried about Jack’s safety and had to let it go.
Johnnie knew what he was thinking too. With Atlas and the others already blessed by the laws here, this guy was no longer useful.
He took a step back and snapped, "Do it!"
Hum!
The Intent of the Sword buzzed. Seven Sword shot out with a howl, cutting for Altair.
At the same time, he pulled Atlas and the others into the Map of Heaven and Earth. Maiev and the Dark Golden Golem were summoned.
"A Divine powerhouse too!" Altair easily slipped past the whistling blade, crying out in surprise.
But he wasn’t afraid at all. He drew a flexible sword from his waist and charged straight at Johnnie.
Whoosh!
The wind howled. Several wind blades flew out, slicing through space and reaching him in a blink.
Johnnie didn’t even have time to react.
Pfft!
[You were Instant Killed by the Celestial End City Lord. Blessing ring activated.]
The prompt flashed, and Johnnie revived on the spot.
"So fast!" He backed away again and again, staring hard at Altair, face grim.
So this is the wind law?
He felt the attack, but there was no time to dodge.
"Master, leave him to us!" A Dark-Moon Longbow appeared in Maiev’s hands. She locked onto Altair and kept firing.
Nalorin Sylvia wasn’t to be outdone. Snowflakes filled the air as she opened her Domain.
"You think you can deal with me? Don’t overestimate yourselves. Wind Domain!" Altair wasn’t afraid at all. He shouted, and endless gales roared out, wrapping Johnnie and the others at once.
Whooo...
Endless gales howled, and the whole hall was crushed in an instant.
Astral wind!
Johnnie’s face changed. He instantly cast Sword Aura Protection and a shield buff, barely holding back the astral wind’s assault.
"Lord, I can’t hold it!" Benz panicked. In a blink, countless cuts from the astral wind tore across his body, blood pouring out.
He was only at stage 9, peak. He still hadn’t reached a Divine powerhouse, and he was far weaker than the Celestial End City Lord.
Johnnie didn’t waste words. With a thought, he put Benz into the Map of Heaven and Earth.
Then he controlled the Seven Sword and sent it at Altair.
Pfft...
A flash of cold light, and blood splattered.
"True damage!" Altair blurted, surprised that Johnnie’s strike could deal a million damage to him.
But that still wasn’t enough to threaten him.
"Uncle Altair, his flying sword can kill Divine powerhouses!" Jack warned from the side.
"Hm?" Altair frowned. He also sensed the killing intent hidden in those flying swords and didn’t dare take them head-on. The howling wind around him gathered into a shield.
It was a Wind Barrier.
Puff, puff...
The flying swords flashed with cold light, but they couldn’t pierce the barrier. Maiev’s and Nalorin Sylvia’s attacks were also scattered by the gale.
"Damn it, Jack, are you trying to get yourself killed?" Johnnie snarled, glaring at him, murder already in his eyes.
Jack forced a thin smile. "Master, the Celestial End City Lord did help us after all. Could you not go after him?"
"Hmph. Don’t think I don’t know what you’re planning." Johnnie was sure Altair and Jack were plotting to make a move on him.
He stopped wasting words, pulled Jack into the Map of Heaven and Earth, and poured all his focus into driving the Seven Sword to attack.
"Human, you’re not my match. Cancel the soul contract with Jack now, and I’ll spare your life," Altair said coldly.
Even under attacks from Maiev and Nalorin Sylvia, both Divine powerhouses, he still moved with ease.
Johnnie was a bit surprised. Altair was definitely not an ordinary Half-God, but he wasn’t unbeatable.
"Maiev, Sylvia, break his shield."
As long as the shield was broken and the Seven Sword dealt damage, it could trigger the Instant Kill effect and finish Altair.
"Hmph, useless. You’re no match for me." Altair’s scornful voice came through as the astral wind grew even fiercer, tearing everything apart. The whole city governor’s residence was almost in ruins.
Johnnie could no longer hold back the astral wind. The Dark Golden Golem stepped in front of him without hesitation.
Clang, clang...
Blows rang out, and shallow cracks spread across the Dark Golden Golem’s hard, mechanical body. It wouldn’t last long.
Worse, Maiev’s and Nalorin Sylvia’s attacks couldn’t threaten Altair at all. Whether arrows or sword light, once they entered a certain range around him, the gale shattered them instantly.
"He isn’t afraid of energy attacks!" Nalorin Sylvia realized and quickly warned.
"Got it!" Maiev raised her hand, and several feathered arrows appeared. They weren’t made of energy, but real arrows.
She drew the Dark-Moon Longbow to full, and several arrows screamed out.
Nalorin Sylvia used the Ice and Snow Sword Technique and charged at Altair too.
This time, their attacks slipped through the wind field and closed in.
"Overconfident!" Altair snapped. The endless wind around him howled and gathered into blades.
"Thousand-Fathom Gale Slash!"
With a low shout, ripples spread through the air. Thousands of wind blades rushed in, nearly silent and impossible to guard against.
By the time Maiev and Nalorin Sylvia reacted, it was too late. Several blades hit them at once, and their health plummeted.
"Master, watch out!"
Maiev shouted a quick warning. She could feel Johnnie wouldn’t be able to block those wind blades.
Pfft, pfft...
[Ding, you were killed by the Celestial End City Lord. Special law blessing: you revive on the spot.]
As expected, Johnnie couldn’t block those wind blades and was instantly killed.
The Dark Golden Golem was also badly damaged, almost destroyed.
"No, your attacks are boosted by Wind’s True Intent!" Nalorin Sylvia cried, staring at the flexible sword in Altair’s hand.
Wind’s True Intent is a power a level above the wind element law. Even Highgods may not grasp it.
Altair is only a Half-God, so he can’t have mastered Wind’s True Intent. The only possibility is his weapon.
"Correct. You’re all dying today!" He grinned and attacked again.
"Storm Dragon!"
The gale howled, forming a giant tornado with the faint shape of a dragon. It roared toward Nalorin Sylvia and Maiev.
The two shared a look, fear in their eyes. They knew they couldn’t stop that Storm Dragon.
"Retreat!" Maiev warned, pushing her life Domain to the limit to block as much as she could.
Where the wind passed, it wrecked everything.
Maiev’s life Domain shattered in an instant.
"Master, we’re not his match. Get out of here!" Nalorin Sylvia rushed to Johnnie, trying to pull him away.
"Too late to run. Hurricane Cage!" Altair shouted again. Endless wind turned into cage after cage, sealing the whole space and trapping them.
The howling tornado followed right after, closing in to swallow them.
Johnnie could feel that if the Storm Dragon swallowed him, he would die for sure.
He might be fine thanks to the special law blessing that revives him on the spot, but Nalorin Sylvia and Maiev were natives of this world. Even if dying in their Domain wasn’t true death, they wouldn’t recover anytime soon.
He had to get the two women out of here.
Johnnie tried to open the Map of Heaven and Earth, but to his shock the Hurricane Cage sealed the entire area, and even the Map wouldn’t open.
"Die!" Altair’s arrogant voice came as the hurricane swept in, already covering the three of them.
It’s over!
Nalorin Sylvia and Maiev fell into despair. They couldn’t possibly withstand attacks carrying Wind’s True Intent.
"Let’s see how strong you really are!" Johnnie gritted his teeth and charged at Altair.
With the Hurricane Cage up, teleport skills couldn’t be used either.
"Master, be careful!" Maiev tried to stop him, but the gale surged in and swallowed the two of them.
Rumble...
Suddenly, thunder rolled. The clear sky turned black with clouds, and a terrible pressure spread.
"Hm? Where did this god-ascension heavenly tribulation come from?" Altair looked up as the sky changed, his face tightening. The tribulation cloud had locked onto this area.
"It’s you!" He noticed Johnnie rushing in and his expression shifted.
"You can trigger a god-ascension heavenly tribulation? Impressive. In that case, I can’t let you live." Altair’s eyes went cold. He raised his hand and sent several wind blades screaming at Johnnie.
