Chapter 247: Killing Altair, Skywind Sword
CHAPTER 247: CHAPTER 247: KILLING ALTAIR, SKYWIND SWORD
These wind blades were formless and hard to track.
As expected, Johnnie was instantly killed again.
But he revived on the spot right after, and the tribulation clouds that had started to fade gathered once more.
"Hmph, you can’t kill me. I want to see if you can withstand this god-ascension heavenly tribulation!" Johnnie pushed his power to the limit, speeding up the tribulation clouds’ formation. He ignored Altair’s attacks and rushed in.
"Damn it!" Altair cursed, his face turning grim.
Johnnie had called down the clouds, but a heavenly tribulation scales to the strongest within the tribulation cloud. Altair had no way to withstand it.
Whoosh...
The gale howled. Johnnie was cut down by wind blades again and again, yet it didn’t matter. The cloud above him only grew thicker.
"Human, you’re asking for death. This heavenly tribulation might only leave me badly hurt, but you’ll die for sure. Let’s each take a step back—I’ll let you leave, how about it?" Sensing real danger, Altair tried to compromise.
Johnnie wasn’t moved. "Too late to bargain. Even if I die, I’ll drag you down with me."
"Lunatic!" Altair spat, turning to flee.
"Maiev, Sylvia, stop him!" Johnnie shouted.
Under the tribulation’s pressure, Altair couldn’t keep up his full power. The Storm Dragon fell apart. The two women looked battered, but their injuries weren’t serious.
Maiev worried about Johnnie, but there was no way back now.
They rushed in at once, opened their Domains, and trapped Altair.
At that moment, Johnnie charged in too.
Right behind him came a terrifying bolt of tribulation lightning, covering everyone.
"Move!" he yelled to the two women, but it was already too late.
Boom!
A barrel-thick bolt of lightning slammed down.
With a thunderous crash, they all spat blood and were blasted away.
Johnnie was almost killed outright. Stabbing pain shot through his head.
A soul attack. This lightning was stronger than what he faced against the Elemental Slime leader.
Buzz!
A jade-green light fell—Maiev’s healing skill. It quickly restored Johnnie’s health and soothed his soul wounds.
Feeling better, he rushed at Altair again.
"Damn it!" Altair had been struck by the tribulation lightning too and was badly hurt. Johnnie stuck to him, and he couldn’t shake him off.
Rumble, rumble...
The heavy tribulation clouds rolled overhead, almost covering the whole Celestial End City. The Demon race experts in the city fled in panic, afraid of getting caught up in it.
Another bolt of tribulation lightning formed above, locking onto Johnnie, Maiev, Nalorin Sylvia, and Altair.
Of course, Johnnie was the one drawing it all.
He rushed at Altair without hesitation.
"Damn it. Let’s see how many heavenly tribulation strikes you can take!" Altair stopped trying to run. Gale-force winds roared around him, forming a shield to block the lightning.
Crack!
The clouds split, and an even thicker, denser bolt crashed down.
As expected, the wind shield was torn apart in an instant, and the lightning fell straight through.
Johnnie’s face tightened. He could tell he couldn’t block this bolt.
Boom!
The ground went black and a deep crater blasted open.
As expected, Johnnie was Instant Killed, then revived on the spot.
Cough!
This time, right after reviving, he coughed up blood. His soul took another heavy hit, and stabbing pain filled his head.
The tribulation clouds faded, and that crushing pressure vanished with them.
"Haha! Human, your tribulation lightning can’t kill me!" Altair laughed wildly. He’d been struck too—covered in blood, soul badly hurt, injuries severe.
But in his eyes, dealing with Johnnie was still easy.
"Your opponent is us!" A sharp shout rang out as Maiev and Nalorin Sylvia moved without hesitation.
The second bolt of tribulation lightning focused all its power on Johnnie and Altair, so the two women weren’t hit hard.
Buzz...
Space trembled. The Life Domain and Ice-Snow Domain opened at the same time, pinning Altair down.
He was badly hurt and no match for them now.
But killing him outright wasn’t easy for the two of them either.
"Leave him to me!" Johnnie said. He fought through the stabbing pain in his head and drove the Seven Sword at full power, striking at Altair.
"Humans, you’ve offended the Demon race. You’ll die for it!"
Altair cursed. He barely held off the two women, but he couldn’t stop Johnnie’s longsword.
Puff, puff...
-1188401
-1264310
Damage numbers flashed. Each hit from the flying swords dealt over 1.2 million true damage to Altair.
As a Divine powerhouse, he had tens of billions of Health points, so this alone wasn’t enough to threaten him.
But the real danger was the Seven Sword’s Instant Kill effect.
He could clearly feel the scent of death growing stronger.
Panicking, Altair tried to flee, but the two women cut him off.
Puff, puff...
The flying swords flashed and kept falling.
Johnnie had been attacking for over an hour, and the stabbing in his head kept getting worse.
The Seven Sword’s Instant Kill still hadn’t triggered. He didn’t dare relax for a second and kept pushing through.
The two women were feeling the pressure too as they kept Altair tied down.
...
[Ding, Seven Sword Instant Kill effect triggered. You killed Altair. EXP +32,000,000]
[Four basic attributes +10,000. God-slaying Power triggered. Your stats permanently increase by 10%]
After another half hour, Johnnie finally triggered the Seven Sword’s Instant Kill.
His head spun. He couldn’t hold on any longer and dropped to a seated position. The seven flying swords clattered to the ground.
"Master, are you okay?" Maiev asked in worry, raising her hand to cast another heal.
A cool feeling swept through Johnnie’s head. The sharp pain eased a bit, but the dizziness was still there.
If not for his strong will, he would’ve passed out by now.
His soul was wounded, and after dying several times and fighting nonstop, his mental energy was badly drained.
Looks like he has to find Undead monsters to restore The Intensity of the Soul.
If he runs into a Divine powerhouse he can’t handle and has to call down a heavenly tribulation, he probably won’t be able to endure it.
Also, soul strength ties to mental strength. His Myriad Sword Technique runs on mental power—the stronger the mind, the more flying swords he can summon and the farther they can reach.
For Johnnie, the soul is extremely important.
"I’m fine," he said, forcing himself to adjust a little and shaking his head.
Buzz!
A strand of Soul Power flew out—it was Altair’s Divine Soul.
"Human, I’ll remember this. I’ll tear you to pieces!"
Altair spat a cruel threat, and his Divine Soul fled fast.
Johnnie didn’t care much about it. Altair’s Domain was shattered and won’t recover anytime soon.
Even if that guy does recover, Johnnie’s strength will rise again. He could kill him even without using a heavenly tribulation.
"Douglas didn’t show up?" Maiev looked at the fleeing Divine Soul with some regret.
If Douglas were here, he could use the Demon-Refining Pot to take the Divine Soul and refine it.
Johnnie realized it too.
Douglas is likely still watching Mountain Hunter. His goal is to kill Mountain Hunter and take his Divine Soul.
Seems Mountain Hunter would give him a big boost.
They have to find a way to deal with Douglas. He has three powerful ancient artifacts. If he keeps growing, he’ll be real trouble.
But Douglas has the Celestial Mirror and can jump through space at will. Even a space lock can’t hold him easily.
He won’t be easy to deal with.
Johnnie stopped dwelling on it and checked the loot from Altair’s death.
Divine essence, a City Establishment Order, a Wind Spiritual Stone, and his soft sword also dropped.
[Skywind Sword: Artifact; requires mastery of the wind element law to use. Wind element law comprehension +5, Wind’s True Intent comprehension +5, Physical damage +30000, Magic damage +10000, Wind element damage +100%, Four basic attributes +30000, Speed +10000]
[Wind’s True Intent: Special effect; when you use wind-type attacks, there is a 1% chance to trigger a Wind’s True Intent attack]
[Note: The Skywind Sword was once the weapon of the Lord of Wind and holds Wind’s True Intent]
It was actually a complete artifact too.
But it needs the wind element law to use, and Johnnie doesn’t even have the wind Elemental Gift yet.
"Wind’s True Intent—what is that?" he asked, curious.
It seemed Altair’s strength was so high partly thanks to this Wind’s True Intent.
Maiev explained, "Master, it’s a power even stronger than laws. Only when you understand a law to 100% can you possibly grasp the True Intent."
Comprehend a law to 100%?
Johnnie was stunned. He knew how hard it was to raise law comprehension.
No wonder Altair could use this sword to easily suppress Maiev and Nalorin Sylvia.
Toying with the sword in his hand, he asked, "The Red Carp, can you use this sword?"
Johnnie had always used a greatsword and flying swords, so this type didn’t suit him.
He’d already promised The Red Carp he’d find her a proper weapon.
Buzz!
The Red Carp appeared. Her eyes lit up at the Skywind Sword, but she shook her head helplessly. "No. I’ve obtained the Wood-Element law, so I can’t also master the wind element law."
On the Universe Continent, beings are like players—under normal rules, you can only grasp one Elemental Gift.
Unless you have a special class like Johnnie’s, the Mage of the Five Elements, or you refine an Elemental Heart.
But Elemental Hearts are too powerful, and he didn’t plan to let The Red Carp use one.
If he got an extra Elemental Heart, he might consider giving it to her.
"We’ll think of something later." With a thought, Johnnie stored these items along with Altair’s body into the Map of Heaven and Earth.
Domain-level corpses can be refined into mechanical bodies and controlled by consciousness. With enough Domain-level bodies, he could mass-produce mechanical Domain constructs.
Then Johnnie led the group into the Map of Heaven and Earth as well.
"Master, where’s Altair?" Jack asked as soon as he saw him.
Though Altair was an NPC, he was close to Jack’s father, and Jack’s current strength owed a lot to Altair’s support.
"Dead," Johnnie said calmly.
"What?" Jack blurted, stepping back. A flash of hatred crossed his eyes, but bound by the master-servant contract, he didn’t dare resist.
"What about his Divine Soul?" he asked again.
"Hmph. His Divine Soul is still alive." Johnnie stared at him, killing intent already rising in his heart.
