CHAPTER 114: CHAPTER 113: PROTECTIVE LIKE A MOTHER TIGER

The two walked out one after the other, with Sienna Thornton leading the way. Simon Forrester quickly caught up to her, taking her small hand in his large one.

His hand was warm, holding hers neither too tightly nor too loosely. His thumb occasionally moved to gently caress the back of her hand.

In this bustling May, the evening breeze brushed against their skin, slightly cool.

Sienna, in a rush to leave, had just thrown on some cropped jeans and a short-sleeved T-shirt, not providing much warmth. The slight chill she felt was immediately replaced by warmth when Simon took her hand.

Upon closer feeling, the hand he held seemed to have grown a heartbeat, thumping rapidly.

Sienna tried to pull her hand away, attempting to break free, but to no avail. She asked, "Do you even know what you’re doing right now?"

"Walking."

"..." She slapped the back of his hand with her other hand, "Take your pig’s trotter away!"

Simon laughed out loud but didn’t let go.

Sienna, unable to bear it any longer, said, "If you don’t let go, I’ll bite you!"

Simon looked down at her, a wicked curve on his lips, and asked, "Where will you bite?"

Sienna realized his implication and, angry, kicked his butt. Her strength wasn’t small, and he grunted in pain. Taking advantage of the moment, Sienna pulled her hand free and pretended to be angry as she walked ahead.

Simon caught up, consoling her, "Don’t worry too much. It might not be an equipment issue; it could be that the guest doesn’t know how to use it."

"That person is a guesthouse reviewer. How could they not know how to use it?"

"Why not? No domestic hotels have installed such intelligent showers, let alone guesthouses."

What he meant was, this was something new.

Hearing this, Sienna got even angrier, glaring at him, "Then why did you install it in the first place? Wouldn’t a traditional shower that you just turn on have been much better? Then today’s incident wouldn’t have happened, right?"

Simon didn’t argue with her, just smiled indifferently, saying, "You don’t even appreciate good stuff? Do you even know how much one of these costs?"

"How much? Scare me, please."

Simon smiled without saying a word.

The two bickered all the way until they reached "Kaelan Pavilion."

As soon as the door opened, before they even entered, a resident started shouting at Sienna, accusing that the bathroom fixtures were counterfeit and substandard products.

Simon stepped forward, shielding Sienna behind him, and loudly questioned the guest, "What are you yelling about? What exactly are you yelling about?"

Seeing Simon’s tall, intimidating presence, the guest didn’t dare shout any further, only muttering under their breath.

Sienna, worried other residents might hear, quickly stepped forward with a smile, just about to apologize when Simon interrupted, "Let’s go see what’s going on first."

The three of them went upstairs together. The guest rushed into the bathroom first, holding the showerhead in one hand and twisting it back and forth with the other, yelling, "Look! Am I right? It just won’t work!"

Sienna knew the guest was using it incorrectly, but she wanted to verify if there really was a problem with the equipment, so she didn’t remind him of the correct operation. She stepped into the bathroom herself.

Simon was about to remind her, but it was too late.

As her palm touched the temperature control panel, the showerhead in the guest’s hand immediately sprayed hot water, and since the nozzle was facing her, the hot water drenched her.

Sienna screamed, frantically fumbling over the temperature control panel, but couldn’t find the off button, so the water continued to spray all over her.

Simon immediately grabbed a bath towel nearby, rushed into the shower, and took the showerhead, throwing it to the floor, directing the water stream to the back of the shower room.

Sienna stood there, soaked, staring at Simon, still shaken.

Simon quickly unfolded the large bath towel, wrapped it around her head and face, one arm around her, while the other hand operated the temperature control panel.

The shower stopped spraying water.

The guest stared in disbelief at Simon, then eventually walked over, staring at the temperature control panel on the wall, and said with a smile, "Interesting!"

Simon, while helping dry Sienna’s hair, sarcastically said, "The most advanced temperature control shower equipment in the world, and you’ve never used it before?"

Perhaps afraid of being exposed, the guest widened their eyes and boasted loudly, "Of course, I’ve used it! I’m a reviewer for ’Travel Times!’"

Simon chuckled dismissively, "This equipment adjusts the water to the most comfortable temperature based on body temperature and then unlocks the flow. But first, you have to give a command on the control panel. Without a command, how is the showerhead supposed to start spraying? Pour a stream of boiling water on a pig’s hide?"

Understanding that Simon was implying they were like a pig, the guest became furious, yelling in agitation, "You didn’t tell me beforehand; how was I supposed to know? Isn’t this your responsibility? Huh? If you don’t resolve this today, don’t think of leaving!"

The guest shouted so loudly that their saliva sprayed on Simon’s arm. Simon was disgusted and about to warn him when he suddenly felt a ticklish sensation on his waist.

Sienna was subtly scratching his waist, signaling him with her eyes.

He knew she had something to say, bit his tongue, and suppressed his anger.

Sienna took off the bath towel, draping it over her shoulder, smiled warmly at the guest, bent over to apologize, and offered a favorable compensation package.

The guest stopped talking when they heard about the ten complimentary vouchers worth over thirty thousand in cash. After a moment, they pretended to be reluctant and said, "Fine, just make sure to send the ten coupons over later."

"Yes, absolutely." Sienna bowed once more to the guest, quickly pulling Simon away.

As they walked up the main path of the pavilion, Simon, who had held it in for a while, asked, "Why?"

Sienna, feeling relieved, said, "Consider it spending money to avoid disaster! We indeed didn’t fulfill our duty to remind him. Not knowing how to use the shower is minor, but if, like me earlier, he accidentally got a spray of water and panicked, slipped and got injured inside the shower, he could hold the guesthouse liable for infringement."

Simon nodded, glanced at her with implied meaning, "Indeed, being blackmailed would be troublesome, and sometimes money can’t solve everything."

Having once extorted Simon herself, Sienna dared not analyze further, fearing he would bring up the time she broke her leg.

The two walked along the pavilion’s path, lined with trees, artificial hills, streams, and various evergreen plants. At this time, the sky held a bright moon, the trees resounded with cicada cries, and uniformed staff occasionally passed by on the path.

Remembering how Simon had protected her like a mother hen earlier, Sienna’s heart felt warm. She expressed her feelings, "I’m glad you were there earlier."

Simon looked down at her, subtly, asking, "You still want to chase me away this afternoon?"

Mentioning the afternoon events, Sienna didn’t respond.

Something felt off.

She hesitated for a while and said, "Anyway, thank you."

Seeing her cold demeanor return, Simon was silent for a second, his temper gone, and asked with a frown, "Is there some misunderstanding between us?"
