CHAPTER 151: CHAPTER 150: DATE 1 (FIRST UPDATE)

The elevator slowly descended...

Simon Forrester lifted the box with both hands: "I originally planned to come with you."

Sienna Thornton was relieved: "Good thing you didn’t come. If you had, you would have certainly fought with Lawyer Chandler. You don’t know how twisted he is, but I left him speechless."

She then vented to Simon about what had happened in the morning, vividly recounting the tale until they got into the car. She even slapped her thigh and said she forgot which line was harsher.

The car drove away from Vantage Tower.

Simon Forrester put away his smile, his voice serious: "I don’t think you gained any advantage either."

Sienna Thornton grinned: "Other than you, not many people can outtalk me."

Simon started to scold her: "That guy got angry because he couldn’t win the argument. Did you forget he tried to throw a cup at you last time? Even a rabbit bites when it’s cornered! In the future, just avoid these kinds of people..."

Speaking of that incident, Sienna Thornton fell silent, but her face showed she was still quite troubled.

Simon glanced at her from the side, raised his hand to gently pinch her back neck, his voice softening: "Let’s take these things home first, have a bath, then go out for dinner and a movie."

"Okay!" Sienna Thornton brightened up again, nestling close to him like a cat, rubbing against his arm.

*

Meanwhile, Jane Jefferson was still staring blankly in one direction.

Lawyer Young said: "Sister, Lawyer Thornton’s boyfriend is so handsome."

Jane Jefferson snapped back and sneered: "Really? I don’t think so."

Lawyer Young exclaimed: "Wow, your standards must be really high!"

Jane smiled but said nothing and left.

She returned to her office, made a phone call to Britain; it seemed like it was refused. She dialed again, and it finally got picked up this time.

Her crimson lips curled into a cold smile: "I heard you had a word with the Bar Association?"

Whatever was said on the other end made her face change dramatically, as she shrieked: "If you help her again, I’ll show her those pictures!"

"Clack!" The call ended.

*

Sienna Thornton unexpectedly sneezed.

Simon Forrester turned down the air conditioning a bit, and touched her arm under her sleeveless shirt: "Without sleeves, of course you’ll sneeze. Don’t wear them again."

"Huh?" Sienna Thornton turned her head to glance at him, sidelong, "If you said you get jealous when I wear sleeveless, I’d listen more."

"Oh. I get jealous when you wear sleeveless."

Sienna Thornton: "..."

"Did you hear it?"

"I heard it, but in one ear and out the other." She said that, but there was a look of docility in her eyes.

They returned to Sienna Thornton’s old and worn apartment. Simon Forrester went to take a shower first, while Sienna did a quick inventory of the items in the box.

The items weren’t missing. She picked out a few commonly used stationery items and placed them on the table, then took out the photo frames from another box and set them on the bookshelf.

Simon had just finished his shower, rubbing his hair, and his sharp eyes noticed the new frames on the bookshelf. He went over to take a look at each.

There was a photo of Sienna Thornton during her Master’s studies, with Melinda Linton; a photo from her graduation at law school with Thomas Reed; and a photo with Maeve.

"I’m going to take a shower now." Sienna said, grabbing her robe and heading to the bathroom.

Simon said nothing, but as soon as the bathroom door shut, he immediately covered the frame with Sienna Thornton and Thomas Reed’s photo.

Seeing it really annoyed him!

He wanted to cover up her photo with Maeve as well, but then thought that removing two frames at once would definitely be noticed by Sienna, so he reluctantly let it be.

The last photo was of Sienna in her doctoral robes with an elderly white woman, at Harvard University’s graduation ceremony, Sienna holding a certificate with "Summa Cum Laude" on the cover.

He didn’t know Sienna was a top honor graduate from Harvard. In Western countries, students who earn this honor usually have a GPA of at least 3.8 out of 4.0.

Most of them choose to stay and work in the United States, returning to Brimfield is rare. Because having such grades at Harvard Law School, one could become a judicial assistant or prosecutor’s assistant, or at worst, find a decent-sized law firm and work for a few years, potentially securing a green card with company support.

Sienna had never mentioned this, and Simon vaguely felt that she had something she wanted to accomplish back in Brimfield.

"What are you daydreaming about?" Sienna came out of the shower, wearing her robe, her hair unwashed and tied with a bunny-ear headband, her face unadorned yet charmingly delicate.

She entered the room to change clothes, while Simon, with just a casual wipe of his hair, followed her.

They stood in front of the wardrobe choosing outfits. Seeing Sienna pick out a white T-shirt, Simon also picked a white T.

Sienna cast him a sidelong glance: "Why are you dressing like me?"

Simon, bare-chested, quickly pulled on the shirt: "Who’s dressing like whom?"

After speaking, he noticed the denim skirt she tossed on the bed, and picked out blue jeans for himself.

While he was putting on pants, Sienna donned her clothes piece by piece.

She was reaching back to find the zipper, but he moved her hand aside effortlessly, pulling up the zipper at her lower back.

"Don’t put on any makeup, let’s just go out like this." He encircled her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder, looking at them both in the mirror.

Sienna turned to give him a kiss: "Okay, I’ll just put on some lip balm, and we’re good to go."

Simon returned the kiss to her smooth forehead: "Go ahead."

So, when they went out, they were both wearing matching white T-shirts and denim bottoms.

Sienna wore no makeup, only some fresh grapefruit pink lip balm, her hair tied in a high ponytail, with all her bangs pushed back.

Her face shape was good, features exquisite, and her head-to-shoulder ratio excellent, making her high ponytail without bangs stunning, even with its difficulty.

They held hands while looking for the car, passing by the basketball court where the boys from the morning game looked on curiously.

After getting into the car, Sienna jokingly said while fastening her seatbelt: "Do you feel like you’re taking a college student out for a walk?"

Simon fastened his seatbelt, started the car, and laughed: "I feel like I’m flirting with a high school student, full of guilt."

They went to "BJ’s Delight," taking seats by the window.

Simon only ordered a chocolate steak; for Sienna, he ordered buttery prawns, foie gras, salad, and a winter melon soup.

After the dishes were served, in front of Sienna were three large plates, and a soup, while Simon had only a small plate.

As she ate, she felt something was off, but because Simon disliked talking while eating, she held back until he finished, then asked with a frown: "Why do you eat so little? Are you on a diet?"
