CHAPTER 164: CHAPTER 163: MOVING HOUSE
Sienna Thornton thought for a moment before realizing what Simon Forrester meant, and her face immediately turned red.
She bit her lip and asked, "If I oppose, won’t you buy it?"
"Yes."
"Then go ahead and buy it."
After saying this, her face turned even redder.
Simon Forrester’s expression also showed a hint of discomfort. He tightened his grip on her hand and said, "Let’s go in together."
"Okay."
*
That night, the moon hung in a sky full of scattered stars, and in the distance, the sea shimmered, merging seamlessly with the horizon.
In the forty-something floor luxury apartment, only one dim, warm yellow floor lamp was left by the floor-to-ceiling window.
Simon Forrester held Sienna Thornton close, as she leaned on his shoulder. They sat on the floor, backs against a leather lounge chair on the viewing deck, a bottle of red wine at their feet.
Simon took a sip of red wine, his hand habitually squeezing Sienna’s shoulder and neck. He asked quietly, "Have you decided?"
"Yes."
"That’s good," Simon lowered his head and kissed her hair, "from now on, you can’t bring up breaking up again."
Sienna stayed silent for a while, hugging him tightly, her eyes slightly red.
He lowered his head to kiss her, resting his forehead against hers, his voice gentle and lingering, "Candy, I want to be with you forever."
"Me too."
The night was beautiful and enchanting.
*
The next day.
When Sienna woke up, she had slept to the foot of the bed, covered with a soft thin blanket.
Her head hurt like it was about to explode.
Recalling last night, her heart was sweet, yet slightly confused, as she had to start adapting to her new identity today.
"Awake?" The man’s deep and rich voice drifted over.
She was startled, let out a sound, and slipped under the blanket, leaving only her big eyes blinking and watching the man coming out of the bathroom.
He was wrapped in a towel around his waist, his legs straight and long, muscles firm yet not exaggerated, as he dried his hair while checking his phone at the table.
Sienna was lost in thought, until Simon had already turned and walked over. She then saw the antique clock on the table and exclaimed, "It’s already past eleven."
Simon sat on the bed, continuing to dry his hair while looking at her.
She felt shy and covered herself with the blanket.
"Candy..."
"Hmm?"
"Look at me."
"Oh." She peeked out with her eyes to look at him.
She looked at him, and saw in his slightly curved eyes the lingering thoughts.
She shivered slightly, whispering, "I want to sleep in the guest room tonight."
"Sure. We can sleep in the guest room together."
"..."
She continued to hide her head under the blanket without speaking.
Moments later, she felt the spot next to her sink down.
Simon lay beside her.
Pulling the bundled-up Sienna into his arms, he held her, savoring the warmth of being together.
*
After Sienna finished washing up and changing clothes, Simon was in the meeting room having a video conference.
She walked into the study, sat on the sofa waiting for him.
He was dressed in a suit and tie, hair neatly combed, expression slightly stern.
Just like the first time she went to SY to see him, serious, cold, ascetic, distant.
Remembering how he held her gently last night, whispering softly, "Candy, I really like you," she was dazed, wondering how a person could be so different in front of others.
"Alright, let’s leave it there for now. I’m not going to the office today. If there are any questions, contact me by phone." Simon closed the video chat, took off the headset, closed his laptop, and got up to walk over.
Sienna approached him and asked, "Are you not working today?"
"No," he wrapped his arms around her as they left the study, "I want to spend the day with you."
——
Having had a simple lunch at the mall downstairs, Simon took Sienna back to the old apartment to pick up her luggage.
Just as they got out of the car, the moving company people arrived.
Seeing that he had specially hired help, Sienna joked, "There isn’t much stuff; we could just make a few trips ourselves."
Simon said, "I don’t believe you don’t have much stuff, I’ve lived at your place before."
Sure enough, all of Sienna’s things filled a small truck. More than ten boxes and five large suitcases took the movers about ten trips to load.
As they wrapped up, Simon and Sienna checked if anything was left behind.
Sienna was feeling a bit down, Simon guessed she wasn’t ready to part with the place, sighed, and went forward to hold her shoulders, "Let’s go."
Sienna looked back at the house with every step, and when she sat in the car, her eyes were slightly red.
This house was her truly owned safe haven.
For the past two years, she put a lot of thought into this place, from the little succulent plant on the balcony to the wallpaper she chose herself, everywhere was filled with her careful touches and memories from the first two or three months of her first love with Simon.
