CHAPTER 166: CHAPTER 164: TREASURE

Sienna Thornton’s face flushed for a moment, and she muttered "shameless" as she tried to jump off his lap.

Simon Forrester held her tight, not letting go.

She could only sit on his lap reluctantly.

He drew up designs on the software, saved the blueprints, and sent them via email, "The cabinet will be ready soon; just make do for a few days."

"Alright," Sienna Thornton gave him a peck.

He carried her back to the room.

She wrapped her arms around his neck, looking at him with admiration in her eyes.

As he walked, he suddenly lowered his head and kissed her.

She shyly snuggled into his embrace.

Back in bed, Simon Forrester lay on his side, hugging Sienna Thornton from behind.

All the lights were off, except for a soft nightlight in the corner.

Sienna Thornton wasn’t sleepy, fiddling with Simon Forrester’s fingers. "I’m planning to start job hunting in the next few days. Jenna and my mom will probably be here soon, so I need to rent a house for them and also want to enroll Jenna in a baking class to keep her occupied."

Simon Forrester replied, "Sounds good."

Sienna Thornton continued, "But I’m not sure if I’ll be able to find a job smoothly. If not, I’ll have to trouble you to check with the Forrester Group for any suitable positions for me."

"No problem," Simon Forrester tightened his grip, holding her closer, "I’m happy you think this way. Don’t feel distant just because of our relationship. If there’s any resource I can provide you, just ask for it."

Sienna Thornton was agreeable: "I understand. In the future, let’s discuss things together. If I need something, I’ll tell you. If you want to give me something, you can check with me first."

"Okay."

Neither of them felt sleepy, having woken up late during the day.

As Sienna Thornton was thinking of something to break the silence, she suddenly heard Simon Forrester ask faintly, "Did you forget that we planned to go to Europe?"

Sienna Thornton truly had forgotten and replied awkwardly, "There’s been so much going on lately, and my mom is coming soon. They’re unfamiliar with the place here, and if I go abroad and something happens, it wouldn’t be good if I’m not around."

Simon Forrester wasn’t upset, hugging her gently, "Then you owe me a trip to Europe, remember that."

"Okay." She turned to give him a peck and laughed, "Maybe we can go during the New Year?"

"Okay."

After a while, Simon Forrester said, "I have to visit the place tomorrow. I’ll prepare breakfast, so you can sleep in if you have nothing else to do."

Sienna Thornton murmured a sound of agreement, snuggling further into his embrace.

Suddenly, a petite and curvy figure flashed before her eyes.

After hesitating for a moment, she shook Simon Forrester’s arm and asked, "What’s your relationship with Nina Sinclair?"

Simon Forrester, eyes half-closed, thought about how to explain Nina Sinclair’s identity.

Seeing he didn’t respond immediately, Sienna Thornton had an inkling and probed, "Did you love her?"

He rubbed her hair, "Don’t overthink it. Nina Sinclair is the granddaughter of my grandfather’s friend."

Sienna Thornton scoffed, "So she’s a childhood sweetheart?"

Simon Forrester replied, "I don’t understand what a childhood sweetheart means."

Sienna Thornton explained, "It means someone you grew up playing with."

Hearing the jealousy in her voice, Simon Forrester chuckled and said, "We didn’t play together, so she’s not a childhood sweetheart."

"Then why is she working at SY?"

"I’m not sure. The designer recruitment was handled by Logan Lockwood."

Hearing his response, Sienna Thornton felt relieved, then suddenly remembered, "Oh right, there’s something I nearly forgot."

"What?"

"The reason I decided not to sell the hostel is because I got a text message that morning."

On hearing this, Simon Forrester’s eyes opened, and he sat up, seriously saying, "Let me see it."

Sienna Thornton reached for her phone on the bedside table, opened the message, and handed it to him.

"I don’t recognize the number. Do you know who it is?" she asked.

Simon Forrester took out his own phone, entered the number, and found it wasn’t saved in his contacts; he decided to call directly.

"The number you dialed is currently turned off, please try again later..."

"It’s probably a temporary card bought just to send this message," he said.

Sienna Thornton sensed something was off, frowning, "Maybe someone genuinely doesn’t want you spending money on me."

Simon Forrester didn’t say anything, put both phones away, pressed Sienna Thornton back into bed, "Sleep, I’ll check into this. Don’t worry."

Sienna Thornton still couldn’t sleep.

Thinking about the hostel reminded her of the case and of Paige Pemberton, who accused her of instructing a witness to provide false testimony.

"Are you still looking for Paige Pemberton?"

"Yes," Simon Forrester continued to hold her, "there are no records of her leaving the country, so she must be hiding in some small place in the country. We’ll find her eventually."

Sienna Thornton wanted to say more, but couldn’t...

*

The next day, when Sienna Thornton woke up, Simon Forrester was already gone.

Checking the time, it was almost noon.

He sure has a strong constitution; going to work so early despite sleeping late at night.

After lazily washing her face and brushing her teeth, she went out to find a bottle of fresh milk and two sandwiches on the dining table, with a note underneath.

Sienna Thornton picked it up and saw it read – If you’re hungry, go downstairs for lunch, eat your favorite meat.

She chuckled, crumpled the note into a ball, threw it into the trash can, and sat down to enjoy a breakfast-like lunch while checking the news on her phone.

Jenna Raines had texted her earlier, saying she had resigned and would finish handing over in about a week before bringing Melinda Linton over.

Sienna Thornton replied with a "Wait for my notice."

Continuing her breakfast, continuing to read the news...

After breakfast, she went to the bathroom to get the laundry basket, planning to wash the dirty clothes, but found that Simon Forrester had already hung up all the laundry, including her underwear.

Her heart warmed, and she sent him a message, "When did you wash the clothes?"

He replied instantly, "This morning."

Holding her phone, Sienna Thornton smiled silly.

Men like Simon Forrester, with his status, who are not only considerate and gentle but also willing to share household chores, are indeed rare.

Sienna Thornton felt as if she had found a treasure.
