CHAPTER 18: CHAPTER 18: NOT GOING HOME TONIGHT

Auntie King went to open the door and, upon seeing the tall man standing outside, instantly greeted him respectfully, "Mr. Forrester, you’re here."

Sienna Thornton, sitting in the dining room, heard the voice and looked over, only to see Leanne Norton whispering something to Simon Forrester.

Simon Forrester had his hands in his pockets, looking impatient. Noticing Sienna was looking at him, he glanced briefly in her direction.

Worried that Simon might tell Leanne the reason for her injury, Sienna quickly grabbed her crutch to help herself stand up.

Auntie King went over to support her, whispering in her ear, "Is this little vixen here just to cause trouble?"

Sienna’s eyes darkened, but she still smiled at Auntie King, "I can do it myself, you go ahead and get busy."

She made her way over with the crutch, hearing Leanne asking Simon, "Director Forrester, why are you here at Lawyer Thornton’s place?"

Simon’s gaze drifted back to her again, a barely-there smile playing at the corner of his lips.

Only when Leanne repeated the question did he finally raise an eyebrow and withdraw his eyes from Sienna, replying flatly, "Naturally, I came to visit Lawyer Thornton."

"Oh, so you know Lawyer Thornton?" Leanne’s laughter differed from usual, and at this point, Sienna could hear the coyness in it.

Simon didn’t answer, directly ignoring Leanne’s question.

Yet Leanne still blocked the doorway, preventing him from coming in or leaving, speaking ingratiatingly, "Director Forrester, did you drive here? Can I catch a ride back with you? This place is quite remote, and it’s hard to get a cab so late."

"I’m not heading back tonight."

"..."

Simon’s straightforward reply hit like a thunderbolt, leaving Sienna’s mind blank.

She quickly hobbled over with her crutch, pushed Leanne out, and awkwardly smiled, "Director Forrester, you take Secretary Norton back. Visit me some other time when you have the chance."

With these words, she firmly shut the door. After a moment, she peeked through the peephole and saw Simon really leaving with Leanne.

"What kind of talk is that? So random!" Sienna patted her chest, thinking to head back to her room, when she suddenly recalled something.

If Simon blabbed and told Leanne how her leg got injured in his bathroom, wouldn’t that be...

She hurriedly pulled out her phone and sent a text to Simon: Director Forrester, you absolutely must not tell Secretary Norton that I broke my leg at your place!

Half an hour passed without a reply. Assuming Simon doesn’t check his messages, Sienna was about to call him when a message finally came back—

I have some dignity.

Those weightless four characters filled Sienna with such humiliation and frustration!

"Ugh! He has dignity? Who was it that just told Leanne he wasn’t going back tonight? This shameless jerk! From the first time we met and he showed up bare-bottomed, I should’ve known he can’t change his ways!" Sienna fumed, venting to Maeve on the other end.

"Why do you care what he says? Even if everyone at Vantage Law knew the truth about your injury, so what? Breaking your leg at Simon Forrester’s place, is that a crime?"

With Maeve’s personality, she naturally didn’t mind such things, but Sienna was different. At "Vantage Law," with hundreds of people, if each one said a word, lies could be turned into truth.

Sienna angrily hung up, intending to sleep early, but tossed and turned until midnight, probably still angry with Simon.

The more she thought about it, the more irritated she got, so she picked up her phone and sent Simon a message: Come over early tomorrow night, I have something to discuss with you.

She didn’t even bother to disguise her tone.

Thinking he might ignore her or reply much later, she didn’t expect him to respond immediately with: OK.

The next day.

Sienna spent the whole day in the study dealing with work. Only when dusk descended upon the city did she remember that Simon would be coming earlier tonight. She decided to freshen up in the bathroom, using her crutch to help her along.

Just as she was applying skincare products to her face, someone knocked on the door. She was about to call Auntie King to get it when she suddenly heard a commotion at the doorstep.
