CHAPTER 73: CHAPTER 72: RESPONSIBLE?

Sienna Thornton suddenly raised her head...

The man’s hot breath sprayed on her face, carrying the scent of smoke and alcohol, yet it wasn’t unpleasant. The smoke came from the fine Cuban cigars he always smoked, and the alcohol wasn’t cheap either, so the blend of both didn’t seem offensive.

His brow arch was prominent, and his eyes were deep. Up close, his pupils were actually a dark brown, like amber, or the stars in the sky, sparkling brightly, and at this moment, he was looking at her with deep affection, his slightly curved eyes seemed to hold a universe full of stars.

Sienna Thornton’s heart skipped a beat, her index finger and thumb pinching hard, with a "click" sound, the button came undone.

Involuntarily, she looked down. Even in his relaxed drunken state, the outline of his abs was prominent, clearly a result of long-term consistent exercise.

They were truly beautiful, Sienna mused to herself: His physique is truly top-notch! Even his navel is so appealing!

She held back for a moment and finally couldn’t help but softly admire, "Your abs are so beautiful."

"Do you want to feel them?" Simon Forrester’s voice was very low, in this enclosed space, it seemed especially rich and magnetic.

Sienna Thornton swallowed, looked up at him, her long and charming phoenix eyes soft and moist, gently asking, "Can I really? Will you accuse me of harassment after you sober up?"

A typical case of wanting to do something naughty but lacking the courage.

Simon Forrester tilted his head back, closed his eyes, and smiled, "If you take responsibility, then it’s not harassment."

"..."

Sienna Thornton pouted and stood up briskly, "The water’s ready, I’ll come back to get you in half an hour."

Simon Forrester remained seated, lips curling into an enigmatic smile.

Sienna Thornton closed the door as she left, but didn’t go far, fearing something might happen to Simon Forrester during his bath, so she sat on the chaise lounge in front of the master bedroom’s floor-to-ceiling window to wait.

In her boredom, she began observing Simon Forrester’s master bedroom.

Having stayed here for almost a month, this was her first time entering his room.

Less than thirty square meters, the master bedroom didn’t have much furniture, all in natural wood tones. A Kingsize bed, a headboard molded with bedside tables, the chaise lounge she was sitting on, and a uniquely styled table holding a distinctive table lamp.

One side of the bed was a whole wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, paired with heavy-quality yet lightly colored khaki blackout curtains. Perhaps because the study and walk-in closet were separate, the master bedroom was simply furnished without much else.

Looking at the impeccably clean white sheets, Sienna Thornton felt the room didn’t seem like a home, but more like a model home, thankfully offset by well-designed lighting using warm tones to counter the chilly style.

She lay on the chaise lounge, contemplating things, her plastered leg hanging to the ground, thinking that when the time came, she would go and call Simon Forrester out.

But whether it was because the chaise lounge was too soft and comfortable, or because she was truly tired, she soon felt her eyelids grow heavy. She thought she would just close her eyes for a while...

In the past, when doing exercises late at night during school, a twenty-minute catnap would always refresh her...

In a haze, Sienna Thornton had a dream.

Years later, on a sunny afternoon, she lived with a man in a similar simple and cold model home. The man called out to her from the bathroom, "Candy, bring in the towel for me..."

She handed the child in her arms to the nanny and turned to get a clean towel to bring to the bathroom. The moisture blurring the glass of the shower cubicle distorted the man’s silhouette; yet she could see clearly, the man had a tall and sturdy figure just like Simon Forrester’s.

The man turned to take the towel from her hand, she tried to see his face clearly...

"Ah!" Sienna Thornton was startled awake from her dream.

The downside of falling asleep quickly in a short period is having random and bizarre dreams.

She turned over, trying to find a comfortable position to sleep in but suddenly bumped into a warm, smooth, and fine-textured embrace.

The dream just now was still vividly clear in her mind—having a child, a nanny, and the man showering, who should presumably be her husband.

And this wall of flesh before her...

"Ah!" Sienna Thornton screamed, struggling, and kicked off the duvet on her. She turned over trying to find the switch for the light, yet couldn’t find it anywhere.

The wall of flesh extended an arm to encircle her, murmuring drowsily, "Sleep..."

Sienna Thornton pushed him, struggling even harder.

She thought she had time-traveled into the future, having a husband, a marriage, and even a child...

Fear gripped her, spreading from her brain to every part of her body... yet her right leg wouldn’t cooperate, unable to break free from his embrace.

She kicked forcefully, pain shooting through her right leg. She reached around frantically, feeling the hard plaster...
