Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike
Chapter 76 - 75: Take a Bite
CHAPTER 76: CHAPTER 75: TAKE A BITE
Simon Forrester didn’t feel that there was anything wrong with Sienna Thornton’s attitude; it was probably due to her profession, always having to have the upper hand in arguments, and Simon had long been used to it.
It’s just... her last remark made him feel a bit uncomfortable.
He watched her quietly for a moment and asked, "So, you mean that as long as you’re hungry, it doesn’t matter what dish is put in front of you, you’ll eat it?"
His tone was unusually serious, and his expression was visibly stern, which made Sienna feel it was no fun at all. She awkwardly replied, "I’m very picky about food; I’d rather starve than eat something I can’t stomach."
Only then did Simon’s expression soften.
Standing in front of a large floor-to-ceiling window with the curtains fully drawn, the warm sunshine of late autumn gently enveloped him, highlighting his handsome and clean-cut features.
Sienna felt her heart race, vaguely understanding what this fluctuation might mean, and instantly looked away.
Seeing the two dry pieces of toast and a glass of milk untouched in front of Simon, she asked, "I’m going to cook porridge. Do you want some?"
"Sure."
Sienna went into the kitchen, intending to make liver-protecting porridge to help Simon sober up, but after searching the kitchen and fridge, she couldn’t find the ingredients. So, she made mung bean porridge and freshly squeezed a full glass of orange juice.
When she brought it out, Simon was still looking at diagrams on his tablet. Seeing the orange juice, he gestured towards the barely-touched milk with his chin and said, "I already have milk."
Sienna sat down too, "The fruit acid can neutralize the alcohol. Drink a bit to dispel the alcohol in your system."
Simon continued looking at the tablet, his tone indifferent, "Then what about the milk? It can’t go to waste, can it?"
"What’s there to waste," Sienna said as she picked up the milk and gulped it down while glancing at him, "I can drink it."
Watching her exquisite, beautiful lips touching the cup he had just drunk from, Simon’s eyes darkened as they moved from her rosy lips to her dainty chin, and finally to her fair, smooth neck.
Perhaps because she was rather slender, her throat cartilage was more prominent than in other girls, especially noticeable when she tilted her head back to drink, with a unique kind of allure.
Simon suddenly wanted to try how it felt to bite her neck...
"What are you daydreaming about?" Sienna glanced at him.
Simon snapped out of it, lowered his head, and took a bite of the mung bean porridge. The refreshing sweetness spread from his taste buds to his brain, making him feel a bit sweet inside too, "Is this also for sobering up?"
"Mm-hmm."
"Weren’t you still mad early this morning?"
Sienna knew what he meant and paused, saying, "One thing has nothing to do with the other. I’m living with you now, so if you have a headache or a fever, I have to take care of you."
"Only taking care of headaches and fevers?" Simon occasionally glanced at her and then at the tablet in his hand, his gaze quite casual, as if what he said was no different from "the weather is nice today."
Sienna didn’t immediately understand what he meant, thought for a moment, and then caught on.
Even though she knew he was teasing her and should have retorted firmly, she recalled she’d be getting her cast off and moving back to her apartment in a week, so she temporarily suppressed her discomfort.
She leisurely took a sip of porridge and smiled back, "That naturally depends on the situation and my ability."
Simon raised an eyebrow at her, finally showing the first real smile of the morning, "I like your personality."
