Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike
Chapter 85 - 84: Atrium
CHAPTER 85: CHAPTER 84: ATRIUM
Sienna Thornton was surprised, her voice noticeably elated, "Ah? Is that really okay? You’ll be working, won’t I disturb you if I come along?"
Knowing she was teasing again, Simon Forrester couldn’t be bothered to expose her, and said calmly, "When I’m working, you’d better find something to keep yourself busy."
Sienna quickly responded, "I promise I won’t cause you any trouble!"
Seeing that Simon didn’t respond, she tentatively asked in a low voice, "Then when you’re not working, can you take me out to play?"
Simon softly replied, "Mm, sleep now, we’ll check out early tomorrow!"
"As you command, Mr. Forrester!"
Perhaps because Simon was there, Sienna felt especially at ease and quickly fell asleep.
The next morning, Simon completed the discharge procedures, and they went to Sienna’s place to pick up a few sets of summer clothes before returning to Simon’s apartment.
As soon as they entered the apartment, Sienna clamored to take a bath, and Simon went to prepare it for her.
Sienna had become quite adept at bathing and completed all the steps in one go, no longer needing Simon to wait outside. After she finished and came out, she sat in the lounge chair by the floor-to-ceiling window, enjoying the view while drying her hair, and Simon joined her.
Feeling the seat next to her sink slightly, Sienna turned her head to see Simon holding a cordless hair dryer. Smiling, she reached out to take it, "Thank you."
"I’ll dry it for you."
Simon started the hair dryer and began to dry Sienna’s long hair that hung down her back. At first, he dried it in a general direction, without touching her hair, but eventually, he began to twist small sections with his fingers as he dried.
His movements were gentle, and occasionally, the warmth of his fingertips transmitted through her scalp, touching Sienna’s sensory nerves.
Sienna felt a warmth in her heart.
"Your hair is so black and soft," Simon said.
Sienna pressed her lips together in a stealthy smile.
She remembered how her twenty-seven years had been a constant struggle, always on guard, akin to a frightened bird at the slightest rustle. Never had she felt so relaxed, sitting by such a panoramic window, basking in the sun, with someone gently drying her hair.
Sienna sighed, "I really love it here, and I love this moment."
The quiet sound of the high-end hair dryer didn’t drown out her words, all falling into Simon Forrester’s ears.
Simon looked deeply at her, and after a moment, the corners of his lips lifted slightly as he smiled, "If you like it, work hard to earn enough to buy the unit above mine."
Sienna laughed awkwardly, "Don’t joke like that."
This was one of the most expensive properties in Brimfield, owned by the second or third generations of the city’s old money families, people like Simon Forrester. The Forresters had been the city’s wealthiest family for generations, with a prosperous history tracing back to the Qing Dynasty.
New money, even if they spent vast fortunes, may not qualify for a unit in this property, much less Sienna, who was far from being new money.
She came to her senses and asked Simon, "What about you? Do you like it here? Or is it just because it represents your status that you chose to live here?"
"I like it because there are fewer people here. I hate crowded places."
"So after marriage, will you still live here?"
Simon turned off the hair dryer, placing it in a velvet bag, and looked at Sienna’s delicate profile. Outside the window, the warm northern autumn sun gently cast a halo on her face.
He said, "Our marital home, I will build with my own hands."
Sienna turned to look at him, her dimples deepening with her smile, her long bangs soft and shiny, which she tucked behind her ears before turning back to the window.
"There’s a saying: the heart of the one you love is the best home. And having a home built by the person who loves you means there’s no woman more enviable in the world than her."
