CHAPTER 164: CHAPTER 164: I AM AMELIA SHAW, THOMAS SHANNON WILL MEET ME

After breakfast, Sophie Sullivan lay down to rest.

Miraculously, Thomas Shannon didn’t cause her much trouble and left the bedroom.

Thomas Shannon was about to leave with Charlie River when Amelia Shaw, who had been sitting on the sofa, stood up. "Thomas, are you going to the company?"

Thomas Shannon walked out without a glance in her direction. Amelia Shaw quickly caught up, gently tugging his sleeve. "Can you take me with you?"

His cold gaze traveled from her hand, slowly upward, finally settling on her slightly nervous face. "You?"

Biting her lip, Amelia Shaw nodded. "Can I go to the company and help you?"

"There’s no need."

"Then, can I go to the company and make coffee for you?"

Thomas Shannon raised his hand and gently pried her fingers from his sleeve. His lips curled into an almost cruel smile. "The company isn’t short of secretaries."

Amelia Shaw felt as if her heart were bleeding. Why? Why couldn’t he see her sorrow?

"Charlie, let’s go."

Calling for Charlie River, Thomas Shannon departed quickly.

Amelia Shaw chased him out of the castle. Standing on the steps, she watched him hurry down and get into the car.

The Lincoln fleet departed, a display of sheer arrogance.

Amelia Shaw watched in a daze, tears unconsciously streaming down her face.

Minimus Hart appeared behind her at some point, a mocking sneer on his face. "Still haven’t given up?"

Amelia Shaw wiped her tears, turned, and stared at Minimus Hart, her expression blank. "Minimus Hart, I’ll return those words to you, exactly as you said them. You’re the one who should give up. At least I was once a woman Thomas Shannon loved. And the maniac is the woman who has him now. But you? You’re just a pathetic case of unrequited love, a complete wreck."

The words "a complete wreck" cut Minimus Hart to the quick.

He sneered. "Do you know why the Young Master was in such a rush to get a doctor over here this morning?"

"It certainly wasn’t because of you."

Minimus Hart’s expression chilled. "It’s because the maniac got her period. She has menstrual cramps, that’s why the Young Master was so anxious."

The maniac got her period?

Amelia Shaw’s focus, however, wasn’t on Thomas Shannon calling a doctor for the maniac; it was on the fact that the maniac had her period.

That means she won’t be able to attend to Thomas Shannon for the next few days.

A thoughtful smile touched Amelia Shaw’s lips as she departed, lost in thought.

Minimus Hart clenched his fists, a dark glint in his eyes. Amelia Shaw, just you wait and see.

Unlike Sophie Sullivan, Amelia Shaw was free; she could leave the manor whenever she pleased.

Intent on dressing herself up nicely, Amelia Shaw left the manor and went to a shopping center.

She bought herself quite a few new clothes, along with some perfume with a youthful, feminine scent, and lipstick.

As it was still early, she bought some Western-style pastries and took them to the K Group Headquarters Tower.

In the bustling main hall, the receptionist greeted her with a sweet smile and a nod. "Hello, how may I help you?"

Amelia Shaw offered a slight smile. "I want to see your President."

"Do you have an appointment, ma’am?"

"Please inform him that I’m Amelia Shaw. Thomas Shannon will see me."

The receptionist smiled and nodded. "Please wait a moment, ma’am. I’ll inform his office."

The call went directly to the President’s Secretary Office. A secretary answered, and the receptionist explained the situation.

There were long-time employees in the Secretary’s Office who remembered Amelia Shaw’s name. So, after some consideration, they decided to make an exception for her this once.

"Ask Miss Shaw to wait a moment, please. I’ll go and inform the President."

"Okay."

The receptionist hung up the phone and said to Amelia Shaw, "Please wait a moment, ma’am. The secretary has gone to speak with the President."
