Pampered by My Secret Husband
Chapter 48: Let’s See How She Continues to Be Arrogant
CHAPTER 48: CHAPTER 48: LET’S SEE HOW SHE CONTINUES TO BE ARROGANT
As long as her identity was that of a servant, she would remain under her authority.
With the Young Master absent, how to deal with disobedient servants was entirely up to her.
Minimus Hart’s voice held a hint of a smile as she said, "Take her away."
"Yes!" The maid seized Sophie Sullivan and began to drag her out.
Sophie looked intently at the two people restraining her. "I’ll remember you. You’d better kill me in one go. Otherwise, I’ll make you pay!"
Threatened so harshly, the maid snapped in anger, "Shut up!"
The maid aimed a slap at Sophie’s face.
Sophie turned her head, narrowly dodging it.
The mask clattered to the ground. PLOP.
The ugly, crisscrossed scars on the half of her face hidden by the mask were suddenly exposed to everyone.
The smile at the corner of Minimus Hart’s mouth deepened. "Since you don’t want to wear the mask, then don’t."
She bent down, picked up the ruby mask, and weighed it in her hand. Her eyes turned cold as she ordered, "Take her away."
Fine, I’ll go.
Sophie shot Minimus Hart a cold glare. Just wait until Thomas Shannon returned. We’ll see how arrogant you can be then!
The maids escorted Sophie from the castle back to the backyard garden.
"Get in!" The maids shoved her into her own bedroom.
Then, they closed the door.
Sophie rubbed her arm. Are they planning to just lock me up like this?
Less than ten minutes later, the bedroom door opened. A maid tossed a maid outfit at her, ordering, "Change into these clothes and get to work."
Sophie changed into the maid outfit unhurriedly, a cryptic smile playing on her lips as she watched the two maidens. Her stare unnerved them. "What are you looking at? Keep looking, and I’ll gouge your eyes out!"
"Such bold words." Sophie chuckled, a sneer audible in her voice.
She suddenly leaned in close to one of the maids, her beautiful eyes fixed on the maid. "Go on, gouge one out now. Let me see."
The maid’s face flushed red with anger. "You think I wouldn’t dare?"
When people lose their reason in anger, they are capable of anything.
Sophie, however, didn’t want a direct confrontation right now. After all, they weren’t Thomas Shannon, who still maintained a certain degree of interest in her.
She wasn’t foolish enough to court death by infuriating them now.
"What do you want me to do?" Sophie straightened up, her expression impassive.
It was as if she wasn’t the one who had just provoked the maid.
This sudden shift in her demeanor allowed the maid to regain some face. "Follow me."
「Dark room.」
Walking down the dark, damp corridor with its foul air, Sophie’s terrifying memories of the dark room resurfaced in her mind.
The maid stopped before the door of a dark room and glanced back, urging impatiently, "What are you dawdling for? Hurry up!"
Sophie approached. The maid instructed, "Take the snakes out from inside and put them in the courtyard to bask in the sun."
"Are you kidding me?"
Take out the snakes from inside? Why doesn’t she do it herself?!
The maid’s expression darkened. "Do I look like I’m joking?"
She’s just trying to make things difficult for me, isn’t she?
Sophie sneered. "What did Minimus Hart offer you to make you so diligently try to torment me?"
"What nonsense are you spouting?!"
"Did I hit a nerve? Are you lashing out in shame because I’m right?"
Sophie was still smiling. In the dim corridor, her half-scarred face looked particularly eerie.
With an almost ghostly aura, she stared intently at the maid.
The maid’s heart clenched, but she still denied it. "I don’t know what you’re talking about. Your mission is to move the snakes from inside to the courtyard to sunbathe. Understood?"
"I don’t understand." With that, Sophie turned and walked away.
