Paranoid Doctor Only Loves Me
Chapter 165 - 165 134 Deliberate Retaliation (1 update)_1
Chapter 165: 134 Deliberate Retaliation (1 update)_1 Chapter 165: 134 Deliberate Retaliation (1 update)_1 The next day.
Tang Su had no plans to go to Culture Street. Her staff doted on her and told her not to bother coming in lately unless it was something urgent; they would take care of the shop dutifully.
Zhang Li and Zhao Yue even joked with her, telling her to focus on her love life and to try to get both her wedding and baby-making with Doctor Lu sorted out by next year.
When the time came, they’d bring the little one to the shop and help her take care of the child.
Tang Su didn’t say anything. She just smiled with pursed lips, well-aware that when these two sisters first started working at her bookstore, she could hear them complaining about their own kids almost every day.
Had they forgotten the pain simply because the wounds had healed?
Or, why not have a second child then?
That’s what Tang Su was thinking, and that’s what she said back to the two sisters. Then, both Zhang Li and Zhao Yue said they wouldn’t dare, their household finances were limited, and it was already good enough to raise one child well.
When Tang Su woke up, it wasn’t even seven o’clock yet.
It was only seven o’clock after she had washed up and dressed.
Now, for Lu Han, she had adjusted her daily routine accordingly.
Tang Su changed into her outdoor shoes and picked up her phone, intending to ask Lu Han what he wanted for breakfast so she could go buy it.
Once she turned on her phone, she saw that the homeowners’ group chat was already lively early in the morning.
Somebody had even mentioned her, but since she had heeded Doctor Lu’s advice and turned her phone to silent mode while sleeping, she naturally didn’t hear anything.
After she was mentioned, a property management staff member quickly asked her to retract her message, saying someone was taking care of it on her behalf.
Tang Su was puzzled. Her fingers flew over the screen as she scrolled the chat history to the top and carefully read every message.
After all, she had graduated with a degree in Chinese Language and Literature. She was good at summarizing and making sense of things, and even if her abilities weren’t outstanding enough to stay on as a university lecturer, she still had some capability.
Moreover, someone had posted photos of the parking lot, and it was too late to take them back.
In the last photo, there was Lu Han.
Although only part of his face was captured, Tang Su recognized him. That was her Doctor Lu.
Instead of calling Lu Han, Tang Su went straight out the door and took the elevator down to the underground parking garage on the first basement level.
When the elevator arrived, Tang Su stepped out, and the warm-hearted Sister Cai said to Lu Han, “Doctor Lu, Tang Su is here.”
At that moment, Lu Han was asking the sanitation worker who had been cleaning the parking garage that morning—a woman who appeared to be in her fifties. Lu Han didn’t lose his temper with her but calmly asked a few questions, and the woman burst into tears, sobbing as if Lu Han had bullied her.
However, the onlookers could testify that Lu Han hadn’t bullied her; he was just following normal procedure.
Not long after Tang Su arrived, the weeping woman’s family also rushed in.
Upon learning that it was their mother who, during work hours, had caused a fellow resident’s car to be deliberately sprayed with paint and littered with disgusting animal innards as an act of vengeance, the family member first apologized to Lu Han and Tang Su.
“I’m sorry, let me ask my mother what exactly happened. I will explain everything to you. Don’t worry, I will give you a full account and cover the costs of washing and repairing your car,” the man said.
“No, my son, you don’t earn much in a month,” the woman hurriedly held her son’s hand and shook her head. She was unwilling to pay compensation, and they didn’t have the money for it.
If she had money, she’d be staying at home looking after the kids. Why would she even need to earn such hard-earned money?
“Stop, mom. Tell me slowly, don’t rush. What on earth happened this morning?” the man asked his mother.
Lu Han didn’t rush the mother and son, but looked at Tang Su. He didn’t mind the crowd around them and stretched out his hand to pull Tang Su over, not letting her see what had become of her car.
While he adjusted her collar to protect her from the cold wind sneaking in, he asked, “How come you’re awake so early? Didn’t you silence your phone?”
Lu Han thought she had secretly disobeyed.
Tang Su shook her head, “I did. It’s just that my biological clock is unconsciously syncing with yours. I was going to ask what you wanted for breakfast when I found out I had become the talk of the homeowner’s group. What on earth is going on?”
Tang Su was rather self-deprecating.
As she rode the elevator down, she introspected, considering her actions and behavior generally decent. She was generous and polite to others, cooperative and proactive in her work, and never behind on her property management fees.
Whether it was the property management staff or the elders in charge of trimming plants and cleaning up the community, she always made a point to greet them whenever she encountered them.
She also never littered, adding needless work for them.
Therefore, she really couldn’t understand whom she had offended.
The parking spot was bought by her father when he bought her the apartment; she didn’t randomly park in other people’s private spots. If someone temporarily parked in hers and could be contacted, she would wait; if they couldn’t be reached, she would park in a public area and deal with it later.
Since she had moved in, she hadn’t had a dispute with anyone.
So, who could bear such a grudge against her to take it out on her beloved car?
“It’s nothing serious, it looks like someone’s intentional retaliation, but why they are retaliating, I am still asking,” Lu Han said.
Tang Su checked the time and knew Lu Han had to be at work by eight. She urged him to leave for work, “It’s almost eight, you’re going to be late for work. I’ll ask myself.”
“It’s fine, I’ve asked a colleague to cover my rounds. I can go in later; they’ll call me if anything comes up,” Lu Han didn’t care much for the attendance pay anyway.
His girlfriend had just been through such an ordeal; how could he go to work with peace of mind, with his heart this heavy?
Patients are important, no doubt, but if they come to the hospital and he isn’t there, there are other doctors to help them.
His girlfriend is more important. In Lu Han’s eyes, Tang Su was still a tender and fragile girl.
Or rather, in his eyes, she was a girl who could depend on him, rely on him.
She didn’t need to be like a “tough girl,” shouldering everything on her own.
In front of her parents, she could act as a sensible daughter, hide the slap, not inform her parents about the breakup with Ye Sichen before the matter was completely resolved, so as not to worry them. He understood her.
She could do that.
But with him, she didn’t need to be so sensible or shoulder everything alone.
She could entirely depend on him with peace of mind because he would definitely solve all her problems. All she needed to do was stay secure in his embrace.
Soon, the man approached them, “Both of you, I’ve asked around. Simply put, this definitely wasn’t done by my mom, but the incident is indeed slightly related to her. We should call the police and report it together.”
“Of course, we’ll call the police. What exactly happened? Can you tell us?” Lu Han asked, shielding Tang Su behind him.
Since the incident happened in the community’s parking garage and it was the property management who called Tang Su, without an answer, Sister Cai had no choice but to find Lu Han.
After arriving, Lu Han suggested calling the police, but it was Sister Cai who persuaded him to wait and hear from the parties involved first.
Lu Han ultimately chose to respect their decision.
Now that the son of the person involved was not opposed to calling the police, Lu Han naturally wanted to proceed with it. However, before doing so, both he and Tang Su had the right to understand what had happened.
“Okay, my mom said that this morning, when the garbage truck came to the entrance of our community, she was taking out the trash when she suddenly got heart pain—thankfully, she had her medication with her. A kind passerby volunteered to help her.”
“She was very grateful to them. They helped her with the garbage and even cleaned the parking garage without accepting any money. She then rested to the side, and when she felt a bit better, she went to find the kind person in the parking garage and then…”
“Oh, my mom said, that was also a middle-aged woman, but much more agile than her. However, since the person was wearing a mask, she couldn’t remember what they looked like.”
“…”
The story was clear, and it was evident that the person with the grudge wasn’t from their community, which was like looking for a needle in a haystack.
However, even if it was like finding a needle in a haystack, Lu Han was determined to search.
It was the man who called the police in the end. In his view, his mother was one of the victims too. The man was quite reasonable; it was during his mother’s shift that Tang Su suffered a loss, so he apologized to Tang Su on behalf of his mother again.
Since the man was reasonable, Tang Su was reasonable as well. The issue had been resolved, and since it wasn’t primarily his mother’s fault, she wouldn’t keep blaming them.
Soon, the police who received the report arrived.
