Chapter 494 - 508: Ling Feng of the Heavenly List
CHAPTER 494: CHAPTER 508: LING FENG OF THE HEAVENLY LIST
On the next day, early in the morning, Mu Can got up bright and early, dragging the still sleepy Luo Tian out of bed.
The first official day for new students to enroll; being late would be utterly embarrassing.
After having a bit of breakfast in the cafeteria, both knew that after reaching Void Level in Cultivation, they could absorb the qi of heaven and earth to replenish energy.
However, Mu Can, perhaps out of habit retained from the Three Realms, still preferred to eat something.
Divine Wind Academy also took this into account, providing free breakfast for the students every day.
The cafeteria was quiet in the morning; out of over thirty thousand students at Divine Wind Academy, only a few thousand would choose to come here to eat.
After breakfast, the two arrived at the agreed-upon meeting place and found that many people were already there waiting.
It seemed that these newly enrolled students were also very proactive, not only new students but some older students were also gathering around to enjoy the spectacle.
According to Luo Tian, they were looking for promising newcomers to recruit.
They checked for potential candidates to persuade to join their ranks.
Within Divine Wind Academy, there were student-governed organizations, and everyone could participate in various associations with clear purposes.
When the agreed hour arrived, a man with a dignified appearance wearing a white robe appeared in front of all the new students.
"Hello everyone, my name is Ling Feng, and I am your senior who will guide you around the academy today. You can just call me ’senior.’"
Ling Feng, with a smile on his face, looked at the group of new students, and his gentle smile gave them a feeling of warmth in spring.
"So it’s really Senior Ling Feng, he’s made it onto the Heavenly List," the older students around murmured to each other as they watched Ling Feng.
It seemed that Ling Feng had quite the reputation at Divine Wind Academy.
"Senior Ling Feng, I heard you are a high-ranking expert on the Heavenly List?" asked a girl, her eyes sparkling with stars as she looked at Ling Feng.
"Yes, if you work hard, I hope to see your names on the Heavenly List one day," Ling Feng replied with a smile.
"Alright, everyone line up. Today, I will take you to get a good understanding of the academy and introduce you to the rules of Divine Wind Academy."
Clearly, this wasn’t Ling Feng’s first time doing this job; he adeptly guided the new students around the academy.
Divine Wind Academy was vast in size, comparable to a large city within the Three Realms.
Even traveling between parts of the academy occasionally required the use of Transmission Arrays.
This opened Mu Can’s eyes wide; Divine Wind Academy was truly impressive.
In the morning, Ling Feng took the new students on a tour of Divine Wind Academy’s cafeteria, Cultivation Room, Scripture Pavilion, Battle Platform, and the four major ranking sites.
He also took the new students to see the mission hall within Divine Wind Academy, where they would undertake tasks to earn Academic Points in the future.
There was a special place within Divine Wind Academy, the ninety-nine story Heart Refining Tower; challenging the tower was also a way to earn Academic Points.
Besides the four major ranking lists, the Heart Refining Tower was another place that could test one’s Cultivation.
During the tour, Ling Feng also explained many of Divine Wind Academy’s rules to everyone.
For instance, there were areas that students were not allowed to enter and things that new students needed to pay attention to.
He also offered some advice on whether or not to join an association.
To be honest, the rules of Divine Wind Academy weren’t numerous, certainly fewer than in other places.
The first rule was simply to respect the teachers and not to go wandering into prohibited areas.
The second rule was to work hard in Cultivation, proving one’s strength and earning Academic Points to gain better Cultivation conditions.
All of these rules pushed students to take the initiative and work hard; only through effort could they secure better conditions.
Moreover, Divine Wind Academy had no concept of exams, but monthly battle rankings, quarterly battle rankings every three months, and annual battle rankings every year.
These battle rankings also had rewards; those who excelled could win corresponding Academic Points as prizes.
Furthermore, there were the four great listing charts of Heaven, Earth, Profound, and Yellow, each corresponding to Spirit Transformation Realm, Primordial Realm, Freedom Realm, and Wuwei Realm respectively.
As long as one’s Cultivation was sufficient, one could challenge anyone they wished on the lists, and those on the list had no choice but to accept the challenges.
This also prevented students at Divine Wind Academy from neglecting their combat skills while focusing solely on Cultivation.
In summary, there was no room in Divine Wind Academy for those who just idled their time away.
Each person had their own routine: dedicated Cultivation, combat, diligent Cultivation.
Furthermore, combat level and ranking mattered not only for one’s own interests but also for the reputation of one’s mentor.
A mentor’s Cultivation resources were determined based on the actual performance of their disciples.
The stronger the disciples taught, the richer the Cultivation resources the mentors received.
The teachers of Divine Wind Academy were human too, and many were forced to hide away in Sin City.
They too were extremely desirous of strength, so there was no chance of teachers failing to devote themselves to their students’ education.
This was precisely why Divine Wind Academy could stand firm in the entire Supreme Interface.
This is the cradle of the strong; here, regardless of whether you are the scion of a great family or the son of the All Things Realm, you must abide by the rules of Divine Wind Academy.
This is the confidence that Divine Wind Academy embodies, having the entire Sin City as its support; even the All Things Realm could be disregarded.
"Divine Wind Academy really is the place for me," Mu Can whispered secretly to Wang Cai.
If you follow the rules of Divine Wind Academy, those who don’t work hard will quickly fall behind the pace. Even people with lesser talents will strive desperately in Cultivation, otherwise, losing face in the major competitions would be truly embarrassing.
Especially for someone like Mu Can, who was already representative of the academy head, probably many would want to defeat Mu Can as a stepping stone for themselves.
Defeating Mu Can had somehow become the quickest way to fame.
It’s as if defeating Mu Can meant you’ve bested the judgment of the academy head.
Lunch was still in the cafeteria, a large group of new students descending upon the dining hall in a grand procession, quite attention-grabbing.
Many stealthily observed this new batch of students.
During the meal, Ling Feng approached Mu Can.
"Junior Brother Mu Can, I am your senior brother."
So it turned out that Ling Feng was also a disciple of the academy head, which was no wonder why he paid particular attention to Mu Can during the introduction.
"Senior Brother Ling Feng," Mu Can greeted with a bow, feeling quite favorably towards this responsible senior brother.
At least his introduction saved Mu Can from taking many detours in his life at Divine Wind Academy.
"In the afternoon, be sure to give it your all. The disciples of our academy head’s line have never been defeated."
Ling Feng gave Mu Can an encouraging ’thumbs up’ gesture.
"Don’t worry, I will win," said Mu Can, nodding.
