Chapter 547 - 561: Qilin Species
CHAPTER 547: CHAPTER 561: QILIN SPECIES
After taking out the sealed Qilin Species, Mu Can realized that this Qilin Species was nothing like what he had imagined.
When its eyes were closed, it was just a pink, delicately-carved little baby.
"Could you have made a mistake?" Both Mu Can and Wang Cai stared at the Toad, thinking it must have definitely grabbed the wrong person.
"Don’t look at me, this is definitely the Qilin Species," the Toad said with a face full of helplessness; this creature was, indeed, a Qilin Species.
After Mu Can lifted the seal of the Qilin Species, it woke up just like that.
"Have you come to save me?" The first sentence from the Qilin Species after waking up was just so.
Now Mu Can and Wang Cai were also completely baffled; what’s with this little kid, could he be an idiot?
"Um, I’m here to save you," Mu Can said solemnly.
The Qilin Species immediately clung onto Mu Can, who suddenly felt his Spiritual Power surging tumultuously and pouring into his body.
This Qilin Species actually had such an effect; it could accelerate the influx of Spiritual Power within Mu Can’s body.
"This Qilin Species is no ordinary one," Mu Can blinked. It seemed like with this Qilin Species in hand, Mu Can no longer had to hurry to find Demon Beasts to consume. This was simply a boon from the heavens.
Very good, very good, such a well-defined six-pack; even if the Qilin Species turned out to be an eatable Mutant Demon Beast, Mu Can would be reluctant to devour it.
"What in the world is going on?" Wang Cai looked at the Toad and asked. This Qilin Species didn’t seem simple; it was definitely not just an ordinary Demon Beast.
"I don’t know either; I’ve only seen it once, and everyone says it is the most potential-filled Demon Beast," the Toad said helplessly.
"What exactly is the situation?" The Qilin Species actually fell asleep on his body.
Mu Can looked at the drooling, soundly sleeping Qilin Species and fell into deep thought; what exactly was this creature, and why did it have such a strong effect?
"I know now, we’ve stirred up big trouble," the Toad said. He thought of a rumor; the Legend that this Qilin Species was an extraordinary being, the son of a powerful entity in a no-man’s land.
"That’s not right, I think this is not just a son, it’s probably some kind of treasure," Mu Can said.
"Can you guys stop chatting? We’ve got trouble," Wang Cai felt the fluctuation of Spiritual Power in the darkness.
Groups of unknown creatures surrounded Mu Can and the others, with pairs of green eyes staring fixedly at the three of them.
"What is this now?" Mu Can was so bothered inside; where exactly did Wang Cai transport them to?
Upon closer look, they were a bunch of skeletons wielding ragged weapons, and pairs of eyes filled with Ghost Fire were staring fixedly at them.
"Living people, living people," an indistinct wave transmitted over.
With a shout, Mu Can directly picked up the Qilin Species and started running at great speed.
Wang Cai reacted and grabbed the Toad as well, following Mu Can’s sprint.
Mu Can took out the White Bone Stick. With one hand holding the Qilin Species and the other wielding the White Bone Stick, he fiercely struck at the skeletons before him.
The skulls rolled on the ground, emitting gurgling sounds, and Mu Can kicked away one of the heads, directly running over it.
"Living people, living people," the beheaded skeletons still emitted their purposeful vibrations.
"Darn, run!" Mu Can yelled, and a few people immediately took off.
Mu Can, carrying the Qilin Species, and Wang Cai, with the Toad in his mouth, ran headlong in one direction, while a vast throng of undead skeletons trailed behind them – a formidable Undead Army.
"What kind of place did you bring us to?" the Toad croaked.
"If you keep yapping, I’ll throw you down," Wang Cai retorted angrily.
Already in a perilous situation and not pleased about it, he still had to flee with a Toad in tow, and to make matters worse, the Toad had the gall to criticize him.
"Just run, these guys can’t be killed," Mu Can shouted, having just smashed a skeleton’s skull with his White Bone Stick to no effect – the skeleton slowly reconstituted itself on the ground.
"Keep running," Mu Can shouted again, making a beeline toward the faint glimmer of light ahead. At this moment, he truly wished he had more legs to carry him forward faster.
"What the hell is this place," Wang Cai muttered, his own nerves on edge. At least tens of thousands of undead skeletons were hot on his heels.
It was enough to scare the life out of Wang Cai, who sprinted on all fours, furiously chasing after Mu Can.
"Wait for me," Wang Cai suddenly felt a pang of fear. Mu Can didn’t look back and continued racing forward.
Wang Cai would definitely be alright; even if he couldn’t run, he could count on his status as an Artifact Spirit to escape this disaster.
But if he were truly to get trapped by the Undead Army, death would be the only path left to him.
"Run towards the light ahead," Mu Can pointed toward the light and shouted loudly.
Hearing that there was a safe place ahead, Wang Cai was instantly emboldened, taking the Toad and racing behind Mu Can.
"Damn it, where did all these damn skeletons come from?" Mu Can cursed, then kept running forward.
He didn’t dare to be distracted in the slightest; just a moment of inattention could result in being caught by the Undead Army.
"Wang Cai, damn you," Mu Can swore, howling as he bolted toward the light.
Seeing the light getting brighter, Mu Can’s heart gradually settled.
The Undead following them numbered over a hundred thousand by now, and even at the vanguard appeared the so-called Undead Commander, riding on a warhorse, much faster than the ordinary skeletons.
"Just hold on a little longer," Mu Can looked back at Wang Cai only to find that Wang Cai had vanished on the spot.
He had entered directly into the New World.
"Wang Cai, damn your uncle," Mu Can cursed, continuing his frantic dash forward.
"Toad, how are you?" At first, Wang Cai too was scared witless by Mu Can; it was only after he came to his senses that he realized he should’ve hidden in the Reincarnation Pearl right away.
"Is this really okay?" the Toad asked, bulging its big eyes at Wang Cai. Although they were temporarily safe, if Mu Can didn’t escape, they would still face death.
"Take good care of this little one," Mu Can instructed as a little child suddenly dropped from the sky, landing right in front of Wang Cai – it was the very Qilin Species that had been in Mu Can’s arms.
"Good luck, run!" Knowing the seriousness of the situation, Wang Cai had hidden in the Reincarnation Pearl to prevent Mu Can from getting distracted. Now that the Qilin Species was also inside, he believed that Mu Can could focus wholly on escaping without interference.
