Chapter 554 - 568: The Rioting Qilin Species
CHAPTER 554: CHAPTER 568: THE RIOTING QILIN SPECIES
After hearing Mu Can’s words, Wang Cai was just about to respond when he saw Mu Can disappear from the spot right before his eyes.
"Ribbit, what happened?" The toad felt something was amiss; how could Mu Can just vanish like that?
Li Shan was even more stunned, for she saw clearly that Mu Can hadn’t activated any Array; he truly disappeared from where he stood.
Mu Can returned to the New World inside the Reincarnation Pearl, only to find the place where he had placed the Qilin Species now in complete chaos.
The little rascal who had been comfortably sleeping on him was still wildly unleashing Spiritual Power.
"When did he wake up?" Mu Can examined the little rascal hovering mid-air and asked.
"Just now, this little thing is not easy to handle." Xiaofu replied, Mu Can had entrusted them with watching over the Qilin Species, but he had no idea why this bare-bottomed baby suddenly woke up and caused such extensive havoc.
Far in the unpopulated area of the Supreme Interface within a mysterious world, everyone watched the furious figure on the throne in silence, daring not to speak.
It was an Exotic Beast resembling a Qilin, but different from a regular Qilin as it had no auspicious presence. It looked more like an evil beast, its black body covered with rows of sharp spines, only the head distinguished some features of a Qilin.
The figures crawling before it were all kinds of bizarre Exotic Beasts, even including a huge disembodied head with a fearsome face. These figures all emanated an overwhelming aura, each paralleling the level of a Daoist from Wu Ming.
"I want an answer, who took the Qilin Species?" The Evil Qilin looked at the figures before him, suppressing his anger in his voice.
Hearing his question, the beasts bowed their heads even lower, nearly touching the ground.
They had already visited the place where the Qilin Species disappeared, yet found no clues at all, only knowing that the Qilin Species was teleported away by someone.
"What has made Lord Qilin so furious?" Just as they were at a loss, a figure dressed in a Daoist robe walked in.
The newcomer wore a Daoist robe but was definitely not from the Human Clan, sporting an octopus-like face, albeit holding a whisk in hand.
"Hmph, a bunch of useless creatures, Octopus, your timing is perfect, help me figure out which bold and reckless fellow dared to touch my belongings."
Seeing the newcomer, the Evil Qilin’s expression eased slightly; this person was of the same rank as him and also a good friend, most importantly, this octopus Daoist was proficient in divination.
"Oh? Someone dared to mess with your lifeblood? No wonder you’re furious." The octopus Daoist spoke.
He wondered why he felt such strong fluctuations of Spiritual Power from the Qilin; it turned out that the Qilin Species had been taken.
Considering the temperament of the Evil Qilin, not turning the uninhabited area upside down was already showing restraint.
"Quickly help me with a divination, I know the rules, three million souls should suffice, right?"
The Evil Qilin tossed a Jade Light Ball to the octopus Daoist, inside which dimly could be seen faces filled with terror.
Upon receiving the soul ball, the octopus Daoist nodded satisfied; he said today he had foreseen making a fortune, otherwise, he wouldn’t have come here.
"The Qilin Lord is indeed reliable," declared the Octopus Taoist with a slight smile, pulling out a living turtle from his bosom.
The turtle, only the size of a palm, stood on the Octopus Taoist’s hand and slowly extended its small head, which, quite oddly, resembled that of an old man rather than a turtle.
"What are you bothering me for again?" The elderly head glared coldly at the Octopus Taoist.
"Obviously, I need something, and this is your reward." The Octopus Taoist pulled out a smaller Jade Ball from his bosom, entwined with Soul Power though significantly less than what the Qilin had given him before.
"This will do." The old man swallowed the Jade Ball in one gulp and then pursed his lips as he looked at the Steal Heaven Taoist.
"Lend me a scale," the Octopus Taoist said to the Evil Qilin.
A scale detached itself from the Qilin and flew into the hand of the Octopus Taoist.
The turtle immediately swallowed the scale and then closed its eyes.
"Just wait," said the Octopus Taoist to the Evil Qilin.
He was exceedingly confident in his prized turtle, which had never failed to calculate anything.
Unfortunately, moments later, fresh blood spurted from the humanoid head on the turtle, and it passed out.
Panic struck the Octopus Taoist as such an incident had never occurred since he obtained the turtle.
After a frantic attempt to revive it, the turtle remained unresponsive.
"This is a huge loss, damn it," gritted the Octopus Taoist, reluctantly stuffing the Jade Ball given by the Qilin into the turtle’s mouth.
Only after swallowing the Jade Ball did the turtle weakly come to, still looking terrified at the Octopus Taoist.
"What exactly happened?" inquired the Evil Qilin, looking at the Octopus Taoist; it seemed like it hadn’t succeeded in its calculations; were the souls of three million creatures wasted?
"The Qilin species resides in a world abandoned by the gods. I just touched it and was immediately repelled by a sealing force, the place brimming with all-consuming darkness and something even the deities dread."
The elder’s head spoke in a terrified manner; all of them were influenced by the Divine Clan from the past and had a profound understanding of deities.
But encountering something even deities fear rendered him powerless.
"A world abandoned by the gods, what’s really going on?" The Evil Qilin was startled at the mention of ’deities’.
Were not all deities supposed to have perished? How could there still exist a world abandoned by the gods?
"It is rumored that before the Divine Clan planned that significant event, they had lived in the uninhabited regions for thousands of years. They explored the endless worlds hidden within these regions, uncovering entities too formidable even for them, leaving them no choice but to seal those worlds. However, over time, it is possible to enter those worlds when the sealing force is at its weakest."
After consuming the souls of three million creatures, the turtle slowly regained some strength; it was terrified just a moment ago, for as soon as it connected with the Qilin species, it encountered the divine seal and was violently repelled.
"What should we do?" The Evil Qilin momentarily felt helpless; if the Qilin species were in the Supreme Interface, even if hidden in a minor world, it was confident in retrieving it directly, but it was clueless in a world sealed by deities.
