Chapter 556 - 570: Elixir?
CHAPTER 556: CHAPTER 570: ELIXIR?
The power of mischievous children is something Mu Can is very familiar with since he was quite the terror himself when he was little.
Back in the day, the grown-up mischief-makers, upon seeing the Qilin Species, felt as if they were seeing their younger selves.
With just two slaps, the Qilin Species’ uplifted little face was instantly streaked with two lines of tears, the tears streaming down non-stop.
"Wah Wah Wah, I want to go home, I want to go home, big brother is hitting me, big brother is hitting me."
The Qilin Species immediately burst into loud sobs, and anyone who didn’t know better might think Mu Can had really hurt him.
In reality, Mu Can had merely lightly patted the Qilin Species’ bottom a couple of times without using much strength; besides, considering the power displayed by the Qilin Species, even if Mu Can had exerted more force, it probably wouldn’t have hurt him.
Mu Can, clearly amused, watched the Qilin Species crying up to the sky, his face full of smiles, yet he said nothing at all.
"You just cry, cry as hard as you can, cry with all your might, cry smugly, see if I care to soothe you, I wouldn’t be called Mu Can if I did."
The best way to deal with mischievous children is to be even more fierce than they are, to bully them to the extreme.
"Wah Wah Wah, murder, murder, someone help me, sister, where are you, come save me please."
Hearing Mu Can’s words, the Qilin Species cried even harder, his little face turning bright red from straining his neck.
Despite this, Mu Can still didn’t go to comfort him; instead, he summoned a chair, sat down, and while eating Spirit Fruits, he watched the Qilin Species continue to cry.
Although the Qilin Species was crying vigorously, he was still carefully, secretly observing Mu Can.
"Ah, I almost forgot something," Mu Can suddenly exclaimed, slapping his forehead.
The Qilin Species thought Mu Can was going to come and comfort him, which made him cry even harder.
But to his surprise, Mu Can took out a Memory Stone and pointed it right at the Qilin Species, even shaking it in front of his face to give a close-up of his bare little bottom.
The little rascal was suddenly stunned, his hands covering his private areas, even forgetting to cry.
"Why aren’t you crying anymore?" Mu Can asked, holding the Memory Stone, having bought many of these just for fun, though this was the first time he was using one, just wanting to record the crying scenes of the Qilin Species.
"You win," the Qilin Species bowed his head in a conceding manner.
A young mischievous child met an older mischievous one and was thoroughly defeated.
This was also why Mu Can brought him to this secluded spot, although it can’t be said that no one else was here. Purple Cloud was still in seclusion here, and if it wasn’t for the fact that Mu Can could sense that Purple Cloud was alright, he would have worried himself to death.
"Come here, massage my legs," Mu Can changed to a more comfortable position, stretching out one leg.
Hearing this, the Qilin Species resignedly walked over to Mu Can and gently began tapping his leg.
Although he is a child, his mind is quite mature, and he naturally noticed the extraordinariness of this place; he couldn’t sense anything external, as if he was placed under a seal.
In such a situation, running away was not an option, it would never be an option in this lifetime, and pretending to be bold and unruly was also no match for Mu Can, so the only option left was to resign oneself to fate. Obediently, he began massaging Mu Can’s legs, playing the role of a good baby.
"Tell me, who are you really?" Mu Can, seeing the compliant Qilin Species, comfortably narrowed his eyes, yet his gaze never left the youngster Mo Yang.
In Mu Can’s heart, Mo Yang, who appeared to be just a kid, was in reality, a being even more terrifying than ordinary Cultivators.
"After I tell you, will you promise not to eat me?" The Qilin Species felt a renewed clarity in thought after completely losing connection with the Evil Qilin upon entering the Reincarnation Pearl.
"Eating you depends on what your true form is." Mu Can pulled out his White Bone Stick and gently caressed it in his hands. The markings on it were pitifully few compared to those on Old Man Beiming’s White Bone Stick.
Hearing Mu Can’s words, the Qilin Species’ face turned pale, wondering why it felt like jumping out of the tiger’s den and into the wolf’s lair.
"If you don’t swear not to eat me, I will never reveal my origin, even if you kill me," declared the Qilin Species, seemingly resolved, but the fear in his eyes betrayed him.
"What exactly are you that you’re so afraid of me eating you?" Mu Can asked, staring at the Qilin Species.
Seeing the Qilin Species’ demeanor, it seemed that the fear of being eaten had overwhelmed his heart.
"I’m afraid that once you know my identity, you won’t be able to resist eating me. Swear you won’t eat me, and I’ll tell you, brother, please don’t eat me, okay?"
When a chubby toddler with tear-filled big eyes begs you not to eat him, what would your psychological state be?
You would certainly feel pity, and so did Mu Can.
"Fine, I swear, I won’t eat you. But if you turn out to be something sinister, then I will have to lock you up for life."
Mu Can spoke, and although he promised not to eat the Qilin Species, he remained cautious. If this little guy really was something sinister, then he would keep him locked in the Reincarnation Pearl forever.
Upon hearing Mu Can swear, the Qilin Species finally relaxed, a smile appearing on his face as he spoke to Mu Can.
"Brother, I am actually an Elixir."
What? This lively little toddler was actually an Elixir? Instantly, Mu Can recalled the teachings of the crazed demon.
When Alchemy reached an extremely profound level, it could utilize all things from heavens to earth, mountains to rivers, even stars and oceans to refine elixirs. However, those elixirs transcended the category of ordinary elixirs; they possessed their own life and could transform into different beings.
Who would have thought that such an example would appear right in front of Mu Can, a chubby carved jade-like toddler turned out to be an Elixir.
Moreover, this Elixir possessed power close to Heaven Rank, even stronger than Mu Can by two levels.
"Are you telling the truth?" Mu Can suddenly sat up, startling the little toddler.
The Qilin Species nodded. If it wasn’t for Mu Can’s oath, he would never have disclosed his true identity.
"Holy crap, what level of Alchemist would be able to refine a being like you?" Mu Can’s eyes widened instantly.
He could merely refine elixirs capable of invoking a Dan Tribulation, but a being like the Qilin Species was beyond even his wildest dreams.
"I’m not sure about grandfather’s level, but when I was with him, I heard people address him as Supreme," said the Qilin.
