Pirate Kingship
Chapter 472 - 365: Breaking Through Divine Sight, Descent of the Thunder Deity!
CHAPTER 472: CHAPTER 365: BREAKING THROUGH DIVINE SIGHT, DESCENT OF THE THUNDER DEITY!
「Time shifted slightly backward.」
Actually, when the accident occurred on the Golden Deer, and his sister was sent flying by a group of The King’s Right Hands, the Divine Son had already put aside any concern for the Divine Domain and his Kin.
In desperation, he roared, "Everyone stop! If anyone dares to cause trouble, I will immediately slaughter all the sacrifices in the fish pond."
To prove his determination, a rapidly rotating torrent of water appeared at the tip of his halberd, ready to smash into the pool at his feet.
Once this water orb fell, most of the sailors in the pool who hadn’t yet managed to climb out, having just about resumed their human forms, would certainly be minced on the spot.
Unexpectedly, among the Deep Sea Clan members hiding behind him, a young man who had just transformed during the "Ascension Ritual" suddenly shot out two beams of colored light from his crown with neither sound nor warning.
They transformed into Byron and Violet, who had infiltrated in advance and hidden as Starlight Bodies for quite a while.
Byron executed his signature move, Dream Execution, materializing a short sword in his hand and stabbing towards the Divine Son, whose back was turned.
At this time, who could have imagined that an ambush, of all things, could be executed not just once, but time and time again?
The Divine Son realized it was too late.
But he was stronger than his sister; he wasn’t stabbed in the buttocks, but in the waist.
It’s just a pity that the proficient "Backstab Expert" Byron was not his "confidant," not triggering the critical hit effect of the [Keyword: Heartfelt Trouble].
It was just a very typical kidney strike.
However, Dream Execution attacks the soul rather than the body, so this sword securely pierced his soul’s waist instead of merely cutting through water that flows ever more freely once the blade is withdrawn.
"OW!"
Just from the Divine Son’s scream, one could tell the hit was severe.
He was about to mercilessly kill the sailors in the fish pond without hesitation.
Violet, who was prepared, had already activated [Deep Sea Leap], teleporting all the sailors in the pool onto the Jackdaw.
Byron, in the meantime, didn’t forget to turn the bodies of a few Deep Sea Clan members nearby into human bombs.
BOOM, BOOM, BOOM...
A few explosions later, a large swath of the cultists hiding there was cleared out.
Only then did he pull Violet and instantly flee far away.
"Ah, avenge our fallen brothers!"
"Fire!"
In this era, all those who dared to venture out to sea were ruthless. The sailors who were saved at this time no longer cared whether they were from the Jackdaw or the Ironclaw Vessel.
Having walked away from death’s door, they all rushed to the cannons on the Jackdaw with bloodshot eyes.
Without need for command, they joined in the pincer attack with the Golden Deer and the Ironclaw Vessel against Black Tide Town, firing at will.
Whether it was the Fifth Order Divine Domain of a Pseudo-God or the Domain of Royal Power of a Kingly Title, their foundation was in followers and citizens.
If everyone died, no matter how large the territory, it would be nothing more than an ordinary graveyard.
With the believers suffering heavy losses under the barrage, the Divine Son, already barely managing alone, was now besieged by three Wonder Battleships, each with its own strengths, and his entire Divine Domain began to shake and teeter.
To add insult to injury, at this moment, the Goddess who had bitten off more than she could chew was beaten to death by Byron with a lance.
The pirate officers on the ship, having freed their hands, immediately led the Marines ashore.
They knew ordinary cannons couldn’t kill the Divine Son.
If the captain’s order was to leave no one alive, then they would leave no one alive!
They were very skilled at slaughtering families to the last.
The Ironclaw Vessel left behind the Death Knight Andrew, while the Golden Deer had only Gunnery Chief Wynndort, who now ranked the lowest in individual combat power among The King’s Right Hands and was not adept at close-quarters combat.
Under their command, the three Wonder Battleships continued the bombardment, causing continuous bloodletting of the already small Divine Domain, making its defenses weaker and weaker.
Driven into a corner, the Divine Son, with the precedent of his sister’s frustrated demise, boldly revealed his trump card and bellowed, "Deity Mask, Celestial Descent!"
His own Deity Mask also emerged from his soul and was placed upon his face.
It looked similar to the Goddess’s mask, also appearing as a piece of deer bone glowing with golden light, only the Runes carved along its edge were different: "Fertility, Frey."
It symbolized the brother of the Bayfolk’s mythological Goddess of Love and Beauty, Freyja, and the son of the Sea God Njord—the God of Fertility, Frey.
He ruled over sowing, harvesting, husbandry, and procreation.
Dazzling golden light poured out from the mask and furiously surged into the Divine Son’s body.
As his breathing rhythm subtly changed to match a certain specific frequency and resonated with the mask, his body’s appearance transformed correspondingly.
The left half of his body became a Mythical Creature, the Abyssal Child, symbolizing Beastliness.
The right half of his body was a valiant human male; because the only creator was human, this human form was also seen as a symbol of Divinity.
From his head, at the center of this division, a brilliant golden halo, like that of an Angel, emerged.
It symbolized the deity who now dominated his body—the Divinity of Frey, the God of Fertility.
Behind him, an image of a god wielding a long sword and riding a giant boar appeared, which was the mental imprint left by Frey in the collective subconscious of the Bayfolk.
An air of cold, indifferent authority, akin to that of natural laws, instantly spread from his person.
WHOOSH!
At this moment, Blue Hair, leveraging his werewolf’s astounding Recovery Power, caught his breath and once again charged to the forefront like an untamed crab.
He would never admit to being the "shame of the Fourth Order," a "hero’s doormat," or a good-for-nothing who could only boast because of "my brother, the Pirate King."
I was just careless just now and didn’t dodge. Give me another chance, and I’m sure... I’ll catch him off guard when he hesitates, thinking I’m my brother. Then, with a left-pincer thrust, I’ll ambush his right eye, guaranteeing his face will be a mess.
But the moment he revealed a face identical to that of his brother, as he charged toward the Divine Son Frey, he witnessed a scene as terrifying as a Heavenly God descending to earth.
And when Frey saw his true face, his eyes were like a millennium-old glacier, showing not the slightest ripple of emotion.
He simply raised his long-hafted halberd and delivered a powerful slash from the upper right to the lower left.
In an instant, each strand of blue hair on Halding’s head stood on end.
Danger! Danger! Danger!
However, in his eagerness to accomplish a feat, relying on his Fourth Order strength which was far ahead of the others, there was no one to block the blow for him.
CLANG—!
His twin pincers, inflated like huge water tanks, were crushed upon contact with the halberd.
Not only was he sent flying back like a cannonball, but one of his pincers was also shattered on the spot.
Only then did the others arrive on the battlefield, surrounding the greatly transformed Divine Son in the center.
"Be careful, this is the second realm of swordsmanship—Divine Sight!" exclaimed Blue Hair. "Moreover, it’s the highest state of achieving resonance with one’s Self God. Such a person is invincible among peers!"
Blue Hair had mediocre abilities, but having spent years beside his brother, his eyesight was sharp.
He recognized at a glance that this was a powerful move that could only be executed at the realm of Divine Sight.
"Divine Sight?"
The others couldn’t help but turn pale.
Most of them, with Byron’s help, had awakened to the Flow State; Divine Sight was the next peak they sought.
Some described Divine Sight as having the senses of a deity.
It was similar to the professional ability of a Storm Knight called the Breath of All Things:
"Your Spirituality will resonate with the frequency of all things. You can understand the emotions of any creature and grasp the weaknesses of inanimate objects. You can easily chop through rocks, steel, and even the formless, intangible wind with a simple stick."
Even more, mastering this state, in resonance with all things, also resonates with oneself—creating a Self God at the deepest levels of the soul!
In esoteric terms, it is: "See the heavens and earth, see all living beings, see oneself."
It’s as if Angels or deities descended into one’s body, and every move was divinely assisted.
At this level, it seems that one could, with a humble mortal body, slightly touch the Divine Domain.
This resonance with one’s own frequency is a key that only opens the true Self God.
Like a fingerprint, each person has subtle differences.
It might correspond to the Divine side of oneself, resembling a Mechanical Mindset: cold and ruthless, absolutely calm and focused, achieving the best results with minimal cost.
It might also correspond to the Beastliness within, allowing the instincts etched in the blood from millions of years of evolution and combat to take full control, gaining the strongest wild intuition at the top of the food chain, acting on the best subconscious impulses without deliberation.
Then there’s the hardest, the Self side, which represents absolute freedom of will: boundless and unfettered, able to be large or small, short or long, soft or hard, gentle or firm.
Some people, even if they’re fortunate enough to comprehend Divine Sight, are never able to get a step closer to their Self God in their lifetime, while others might find the key to their soul’s secrets right after their initial understanding of Divine Sight.
Beyond that, legend says there’s a more direct way to grasp Divine Sight—gazing directly at a deity.
Looking straight at a being that’s beyond comprehension, if one doesn’t die, there might be a chance to gain this ability.
There are no known success stories, but there are countless who have turned into madmen.
The Divine Son himself seemed to have not reached the realm of Divine Sight. Instead, he took a shortcut by allowing the cold, indifferent Divinity of Frey within the Deity Mask to take over his body.
He now became a killing machine devoid of any emotions.
At this moment, facing ten opponents, the disparity didn’t seem as vast.
But after this battle, whether he would still be himself... that was a different question.
Chaotic ’Beastliness’ is a corrupting poison, but isn’t the absolute order of ’Divinity’ also a toxin?
Just as the Divine Son was preparing to carve a bloody path through the group of Third Order Transcendents who were no match for his single strike, and break out of Black Tide Town, a clear voice suddenly echoed across the battlefield:
"Divine Sight is not meant to be used like that. Storm King Seal, Whistling Deity’s Descent!"
Without anyone realizing when, Byron had quietly arrived at the edge of the battlefield like a ghostly apparition.
His method of breathing had also subtly changed; externally, it connected to the storm above, while internally, it instantly resonated with a specific frequency within his body.
A blazing white, pure light exploded radiantly above his head.
Behind him, an ethereal figure with wings seemed to surface. It was not any other person or deity, but Byron himself!
