CHAPTER 83: CHAPTER 25: MEN ARE THE MOST UNABLE TO RESIST PROVOCATION_3
Motherf***er.
Not daring to hesitate for a second, Lin Miao immediately climbed out the window. There were quite a few Tiger Claw members downstairs who, upon seeing him, started firing without saying a word. Bullets flew towards the building as if they were free.
At that moment, the hacker’s voice resurfaced again.
"Hmph! Trying to escape?"
The opponent seemed to intend to do something to Lin Miao, but in the next second, all Lucy could hear was her shrill and agonizing scream.
Located on the second floor, Zhengfa Chengtailang took a slightly fearful step back, distancing himself from the Huang Ban hacker, who was clutching his head and screaming. His pupils were filled with black and red streams of data, and his limbs moved bizarrely and counterintuitively. In less than one second, his brain and numerous brain components had been thoroughly fried.
Along with all the prosthetic electronic components on his body burned out as well.
His wretched death was no less dire than the people Chengtailang usually filmed Black Mewtwo massacring on the third floor.
"Damn it, ran into an expert! Gather the brothers, take out those two, no taking them alive!"
Zhengfa Chengtailang, although the leader of the Tiger Claw group,
was just a pervert, not strong in combat, unable to summon the Platinum Star, and could only command his subordinates to surround those two thieves, himself praying on a sofa that the expert hacker wouldn’t come for him.
He cared more about his life than the losses.
If he could, Zhengfa Chengtailang would have loved to pretend this hadn’t happened. At worst, he might suffer some losses, but with the Huang Ban elite special agent dead in his club, he had to act, lest Huang Ban show him the meaning of cruelty.
In front of Huang Ban, the Tiger Claw group that wreaked havoc in Kabukicho couldn’t even be counted as dogs.
.....
Frightened by the other’s screams, Lin Miao asked,
"Lucy, did you take them out?"
"..." Lucy hadn’t yet shaken off the Demonic Puppet released by the opponent and was stunned by the question.
"Wasn’t it your ICE that defeated them?"
"Was it? Maybe."
Lin Miao didn’t say much more; the guy hadn’t even managed to pop up an intrusion warning screen before dying, feeling somewhat unreal, like I hadn’t even exerted my strength before you’ve fallen.
Lucy’s head was full of question marks, what does maybe mean?
When Lin Miao climbed back to the rooftop again, he found Lucy weakly lying against the pipes, her face covered in sweat. He quickly ran over to support her.
"What happened to you?"
"Their virus was strong; they uploaded data to the surveillance system and I didn’t notice. I’m still clearing their influence. Don’t worry about me; I’ll find a place to hide myself. You must go quickly, the Tiger Claw people will be up here soon."
Lucy regretted it already; she didn’t know what made her want to come to this place and call up Lin Miao to steal something without realizing there was a hacker here--she ended up being dragged into the mess.
She wasn’t like this before.
"Sounds nice, but with you hiding, who will do the work on tomorrow and Saturday? I don’t know any other hacker."
After helping Lucy up, Lin Miao asked, "Can you still run?"
Lucy shook her head; she always thought she could run fast, faster than the others, which was how she survived, but now her limbs weren’t listening, walking was laborious, not to mention running.
This is why hackers rarely act alone; they usually find a trustworthy team so that if something goes wrong, there’s someone to save them.
Who knows how many hackers have fried brains alone in basements, bathtubs, hacker chairs by ICE of corporations, bodies unnoticed till they stink.
As footsteps on the stairs hastened, Lin Miao stashed his gun in the back waist, grabbed Lucy, and jumped on the massive exhaust pipe, heading for another building.
The Tiger Claw men climbed up the roof, immediately spotting the fleeing duo not far away.
"There they are! Don’t let those two guys escape!"
These gang youths didn’t care about anything else, they pulled their guns and started shooting.
The sounds of gunfire rang out fiercely, with submachine gun and pistol bullets whizzing past Lin Miao’s ears, occasionally hitting with a muffled sound that kept his back aching.
Thankfully, he wore a bulletproof suit and vest and had titanium alloy bones, or else he’d have been turned into a sieve and met Jesus already.
But to Lucy’s ears, Lin Miao was definitely hit on the back, not knowing how bad the wound was, but all she could do was snuggle against him to reduce his exertion.
Through the thick suit and vest, Lucy could hear Lin Miao’s pounding heartbeat.
The Kabukicho rooftop was a crisscross network, filled with paths of colored steel tiles and makeshift shelters, packed with gaming machines or gambling machines, all holding Tiger Claw turf, so no matter which direction Lin Miao ran, several armed gang youths always sprang out.
But relying on prosthetic eyes’ dynamic vision and alert tags, he could always spot the threats in the chaotic crowd and fire first, with extraordinary accuracy.
No way, we won’t escape this way.
Lin Miao was well aware that they were on Tiger Claw turf, trying to get out of there with just the two of them was simply wishful thinking.
They needed help.
"I remember tomorrow is just Thursday."
"Kabukicho Phoenix Club, Tiger Claw, rescue, ten thousand."
"Deal."
After once again repelling the Tiger Claw members, Lin Miao kicked open the tightly shut door of the stairwell, and the stairwell was in chaos, filled with fleeing civilians.
