Playtime's Over, CEO: She's Really Done With You
Chapter 246: Moving In With Him
CHAPTER 246: CHAPTER 246: MOVING IN WITH HIM
Serena watched as the airplane took off into the sky.
Although she had some doubts and some speculations in her heart, she still had to wait until Ethan Lynch investigated thoroughly before drawing any conclusions.
After all, Ethan Lynch was just about to attend the medical seminar, so asking about this aspect wouldn’t seem strange.
If he were to investigate specifically, it would be like when Jasper Ford sent someone over before.
After watching Ethan Lynch leave, Serena turned around and saw Silas Hawthorne standing beside her.
"Let’s go back," Silas Hawthorne said.
Serena nodded and said, "Okay."
At the rented house, Mrs. Walsh had already taken people over to tidy up, now packing things to transport to Hawthorne Manor.
Although they only lived there for a while, there were still quite a few things.
The two of them took the car back to Hawthorne Manor.
The rented house had been tidied up, and things were ready to be placed after a bit of confirmation here.
Silas Hawthorne went to handle company affairs, while Serena stayed with the housekeeper here.
The housekeeper at Hawthorne Manor was Uncle Zhou, who held a tablet, directing Mrs. Walsh and other staff to place things properly.
Serena occasionally confirmed where her belongings should be, and soon everything was arranged.
"Miss Serena, come with me," Uncle Zhou said with a smile to Serena, "I’ll give you a detailed introduction."
Serena nodded.
Though she had visited here a few times, it wouldn’t be proper to roam around someone else’s home heedlessly.
"Meow!"
The chubby Ragdoll cat called out.
Serena held it in her arms and followed Uncle Zhou.
"Here’s the first floor, with the kitchen, entertainment room, guest rooms..."
After visiting the first floor, they went to the second.
"This is the master bedroom, which is where sir is staying now." Uncle Zhou opened the door and led Serena inside.
Serena felt a bit embarrassed, but Uncle Zhou said, "It’s alright, sir asked me to show you."
Only then did Serena nod, following Uncle Zhou to look at Silas Hawthorne’s room. The arrangement here was not the usual cold style but rather homey.
"Sir spent many years at sea and prefers the warm feeling of home," Uncle Zhou explained.
Ah, I see.
Uncle Zhou then showed Serena the study room, which had a distinct Chinese style, similar to the tea room downstairs, but with Silas Hawthorne’s personal touch more apparent. He added a table here, so if she wanted to come, she could be with him.
Next was Serena’s own space.
"Sir specifically arranged it so Miss Sheridan’s room is next to sir’s room."
Uncle Zhou showed Serena her room, prepared a study for her, and a space for Seraphina. However, Seraphina’s space was a bit further from their two rooms.
"This is convenient for the nanny to care for Miss Seraphina at night," Uncle Zhou said.
Silas Hawthorne even opened several rooms on the first floor to create a children’s playground for Seraphina.
Also, the art studio on the third floor, Silas Hawthorne arranged a place for Seraphina, with storage for her artworks, all with adjusted temperature and humidity control.
Finally, Uncle Zhou took Serena to their walk-in closet.
Although there were wardrobes in the rooms, most of the clothes were stored in the closet.
Serena looked at the wardrobe, at her clothes hanging beside Silas Hawthorne’s suits, and reached out, gently touching.
There were also his ties and her scarves, their pajamas, and so on.
All neatly placed together.
Only here did she truly feel a sense of reality.
They’re going to live together.
They’re really going to cohabit.
Uncle Zhou continued speaking on the side: "Sheila Jenkins lives in the next building, not far from here, accessible by shuttle."
"The manor has a resident family doctor, and the housekeepers have been here for a long time. Miss Sheridan can be at ease and reach out to me or Mrs. Walsh with anything."
Uncle Zhou finished speaking and turned to leave, letting Serena take a good look.
Serena looked at this closet and all that Silas Hawthorne had thoughtfully prepared for her and Seraphina over the past few days, feeling comforted.
He truly was a considerate person.
Moreover, his actions made her feel that he was sincerely thinking of spending a lifetime with her.
Serena went to the study, which had a great view; from the windows here, she could see the manor’s courtyard.
In the Chinese style, she could see the fat carp swimming in the pond.
Serena held the chubby Ragdoll cat in her arms and smiled.
Silas Hawthorne seemed to raise small animals to be chubby.
He treated her the same way.
He often said she was too skinny and encouraged her to eat more.
As if he wanted to fatten her up.
It seemed this was his personal interest.
Serena returned to her bedroom and lay on the bed, feeling everything was a bit unreal.
She never thought about being with someone other than Julian Lawson.
But now, it’s real; she’s going to live with Silas Hawthorne.
It was truly a novel feeling.
Serena’s lips curved slightly; this was good.
...
In the evening, when Silas Hawthorne returned, he brought a box.
At this moment, Serena and Seraphina were playing in the children’s playground.
The playground had quite a few large play facilities, and Seraphina was having a great time.
There was also a super-sized alpaca plush toy that Seraphina particularly enjoyed climbing on.
Serena watched nearby to prevent her from falling.
When Silas Hawthorne returned, he was greeted by this warm scene, his eyes filled with laughter.
He knocked on the door.
Serena turned and saw Silas Hawthorne standing by the door.
He shook the box in his hand and said, "The dessert shop downstairs from the company, I noticed you really enjoyed their treats last time."
Serena stood up to look at the box in his hand.
Inside were many small desserts, indeed the ones she liked.
Serena reached out to take them. Seraphina climbed down from the alpaca, staring at the desserts inside.
"Wow! They look so delicious!" Seraphina exclaimed joyfully.
Her voice was sweet and milky.
Serena reached out to pat Seraphina’s head, then glanced at Silas Hawthorne as they went to the living room together.
"You can’t eat too much; we’ll have dinner soon," Silas Hawthorne told Seraphina, then looked at Serena, "You too."
Serena nodded without thinking much, just focused on watching Seraphina, occasionally wiping her mouth.
A gentle breeze lightly tousled her hair; in the sunset, her profile was beautiful.
He now felt like a husband bringing home treats for his wife after work.
Silas Hawthorne’s heart felt like it was inflated with a balloon, full and satisfied.
The day passed warmly in this way.
Seraphina played so much that she soon fell asleep in her little bed.
After watching Seraphina sleep, Serena went out.
She took a shower, changed into pajamas, and as she walked out, met Silas Hawthorne, who had also just showered and was getting water.
He was wearing comfortable loungewear, with water dripping from his hair tips.
They met like this, face to face.
The house was quiet at this moment; the two of them just stared at each other in the corridor.
