Playtime's Over, CEO: She's Really Done With You
Chapter 247: The First Night of Living Together
CHAPTER 247: CHAPTER 247: THE FIRST NIGHT OF LIVING TOGETHER
Serena still held the towel she used to dry her hair.
She looked at him.
The current Silas Hawthorne was very different from his usual self.
The man she usually saw was always dressed immaculately and meticulously.
Since he was in the gemstone business, he often wore something with sparkly gems.
Like gem-encrusted cufflinks and such, making him look extraordinarily distinguished.
But dressed in homewear now, he appeared gentler and more harmless than usual.
He even looked younger, like a university student in his early twenties.
With his handsome face, Serena stared at him for a moment.
Silas saw her, smiled, and said, "Want some water?"
Serena came back to her senses, nodding absentmindedly.
"Sure," she mumbled.
Then the two of them approached the water machine together, and he reached out to pour her a glass.
She took it and sipped.
"Today, Uncle Zhou showed you around the house. Did you like it? Is there anything you want to change?" Silas’s voice came from beside her.
Serena thought for a moment and shook her head, "It’s great."
Then she recalled Seraphina’s joy with the big alpaca today, and how her room was filled with Cinnamoroll plush toys, her little bed and blanket, and the new Peppa Pig notebook. Serena smiled.
"Seraphina loved it," she said, "especially the alpaca in the playroom. She didn’t want to get off it today."
"And you?" Silas turned to look at her, "Which part do you like the most?"
Serena thought of the closet where their clothes were hung together.
Blushing slightly, she took another sip to hide it.
"The study," Serena said, "It’s wonderfully arranged."
"Hmm..." Silas seemed thoughtful.
Serena couldn’t understand what he was thinking, so she looked up at him.
Then she saw him take out a hairdryer from somewhere.
He guided her to sit down and took her towel to dry her hair.
Was he about to blow-dry her hair?
Serena reached out to take the hairdryer.
However, he had already plugged it in.
"Sit tight," he said, then flicked the switch.
The warm breeze blew, and Silas patiently blow-dried her hair.
His fingers gently combed through her strands, tidying and drying patiently.
She had trimmed her hair earlier, but it had grown quite a bit since then, extending from its previous chest-length.
The sound of the humming hairdryer echoed in the silent space.
It was just the two of them, the lights dim, creating an intimate atmosphere.
Serena lowered her head, her face slightly flushed, her hands tightly clutching the glass as he styled her hair.
Silas looked at Serena beside him, enveloped by her scent, strongly aware she was there with him, under the same roof.
For how many years, this was the scene he dreamt of late into the night.
Finally now...
Though she hadn’t agreed yet... he believed that someday, she would.
But even so, as long as she sat by his side, he felt content.
"Serena, I really... like you," Silas murmured softly.
"What?" Serena lifted her head in puzzlement.
She thought she heard him say something, but the hum of the hairdryer drowned out the words.
Yet, he just shook his head, indicating it was nothing.
Soon, he finished blow-drying her hair.
Turning off the hairdryer and placing it aside, he took her glass, setting it down before leaning in to kiss her.
He pressed her against the table edge, deeply kissing her.
His hair still dripping water, a drop fell on her collarbone, slipping into her nightgown, making her shiver slightly.
Both wore pajamas, their bodies scented with shower gel, in close proximity.
Silas couldn’t resist kissing her, passionately indulging for a long while, until he regained control, eyes reddened, kissing her forehead.
"Alright, go to bed," he said, his voice husky.
Serena watched Silas clearly holding something back, turning her face away.
"Mm," she responded, then dashed off.
If she didn’t, something else might happen.
Serena hurried upstairs in her slippers, returning to her room.
"Goodnight," she said at the door.
"Goodnight," Silas looked up, smiling at her.
Only then did she close her bedroom door.
Silas glanced down at himself, took a deep breath, then tidied up the glass and hairdryer, heading upstairs slowly.
He stood outside her bedroom door for a moment, before retreating to his own room.
Inside her room, Serena heard his footsteps fade away, and she turned over.
She touched her lips, pressing on her heart.
It was pounding wildly.
...
The Lawson Corporation’s new product was releasing soon.
That day Julian Lawson and Ian Yates went out for drinks, Julian got drunk and Ian directly sent him back to the apartment beside Lawson Tower.
Because of the upcoming product launch, there were many things to handle at the company, Julian often worked late, so he stayed at this apartment.
Today, the new product was finally released.
After the launch, everything went well.
And now, three days had passed since then.
That evening, as Julian tiredly drove back to the apartment opposite the place Serena had rented before, he keenly sensed something was off.
However, he couldn’t pinpoint what was wrong, so he opened the curtains and looked over.
The balcony opposite wasn’t like usual with her clothes, but neatly tidied.
Julian was puzzled.
When he looked downstairs, the people Silas had stationed in the shadows to protect Serena weren’t there anymore.
What was going on?
Did they fight?
Julian thought with undisguised relief.
Hopefully, they fought, so Serena could see another side of Silas and they’d break up!
Yet, his excitement hadn’t lasted two minutes when the lights suddenly turned on in the opposite room.
Julian saw an unfamiliar man and woman enter the house.
What?
For a moment, Julian couldn’t grasp what was happening.
Why were strangers entering her rented house?
Were they thieves?
But it didn’t seem so; he saw them open the door normally.
The man was talking to the woman, showing her around the living room, bedroom, and kitchen.
It didn’t look like a robbery, more like... a real estate agent.
Moreover...
With the lights on, Julian saw that the living room no longer held her things.
Instead, it was neat and empty as if no one lived there.
Julian furrowed his brow slightly and immediately went downstairs towards the opposite building.
