Chapter 256: Huo: We Will Get Married and Be Husband and Wife
CHAPTER 256: CHAPTER 256: HUO: WE WILL GET MARRIED AND BE HUSBAND AND WIFE
Julian Lawson’s head was drenched in cold sweat, his teeth almost shattered as he fiercely glared at the calm-faced Silas Hawthorne before him.
Seeing that Julian Lawson still hadn’t answered, Silas Hawthorne released the chair he held and forcefully pressed his right hand onto the same spot he had just struck.
With this, Julian Lawson’s face contorted even more.
Seeing Julian Lawson in this state did not satisfy the resentment in Silas Hawthorne’s heart.
Repeatedly in his mind appeared the miserable image of Serena Sterling from that day.
Although Serena always told him she was fine, he knew she wasn’t.
She never wanted others to worry too much and always insisted she was okay, that it wasn’t a big deal, but he knew she wasn’t okay.
Not okay at all.
The two men stared at each other, one with a cold demeanor and one in distorted agony.
Silas Hawthorne never released his grip on Julian Lawson’s leg, pressing down on his wound, determined to make Julian suffer.
At some unknown point, rain began to pour outside, the sky darkened, and even the light within the hospital room dimmed, leaving only the cold white light quietly illuminating everything.
Finally, Silas Hawthorne released Julian Lawson’s leg.
Julian Lawson felt as if he had just been dragged out of water, his entire body limp on the hospital bed, panting heavily.
Silas Hawthorne took two steps forward, coming to the side of Julian Lawson’s head.
"Feeling miserable now?"
His voice remained calm but carried a terrifying sense of composure, entirely unlike his usual gentle and refined demeanor.
"Feeling the pain now?"
He spoke calmly, looking at Julian Lawson.
"When you hurt her, did you ever consider her feelings?"
"When she begged you to spare her, when she screamed in agony, Julian Lawson, did you ever think about how much pain she was in?"
Julian Lawson still clenched his teeth tightly, fists gripping hard, enduring the intense pain and discord emanating from his shinbone.
He didn’t look at Silas Hawthorne.
Repeatedly before his eyes appeared the pitiful image of Serena Sterling.
He shut his eyes in anguish.
He didn’t know what to say and couldn’t utter a word.
"You knew full well she had been seeing a psychiatrist, that her condition wasn’t light, yet you still wanted to force her!"
Silas Hawthorne’s voice cut through, making Julian Lawson’s heart tremble hard.
"That day in the apartment, she was already so provoked by you that she couldn’t recognize people, after returning home, she stayed in the bathroom, scrubbing her skin raw!"
"You kept saying you love her, that you had your reasons, then, you hurt her like this?"
Every question from Silas Hawthorne hit Julian Lawson’s heart like a heavy hammer, causing him unbearable pain.
What had he done again?
He clearly knew...
The scent of disinfectant lingered in the air, neither man spoke for a long time.
At last, Julian Lawson asked, "How...is she doing now?"
"Ha..." The response Julian Lawson got was a cold laugh from Silas Hawthorne.
It was filled with mockery.
All meanings were contained within that cold laugh.
How did Julian Lawson even have the face to ask how Serena Sterling was doing!
Julian Lawson’s face burned hot.
It was like he had been slapped hard.
When he was hit, his face never hurt this much.
"That wasn’t my intention." After a long while, Julian Lawson finally said.
"Excusing yourself again, are you?" This was a statement, Silas Hawthorne’s voice was very cold, "You had your reasons, it wasn’t intentional, you’re very regretful, then you continue to hurt her?"
Julian Lawson clenched his teeth tightly, his eyes met Silas Hawthorne’s cold gaze.
But Silas Hawthorne only sneered.
"What’s the excuse this time?" Silas Hawthorne asked coldly, "Saw her move to Hawthorne Manor, lost your mind?"
"Thought she lived with me, assumed we were intimate, so you wanted to force her?"
Dark shadows clouded Julian Lawson’s eyes, at this moment he was like a ferocious eagle, fiercely glaring at Silas Hawthorne.
And Silas Hawthorne’s face remained calm, to an unnerving degree.
The two stared at each other in silence, not speaking.
The cold white light cast upon them, painting their figures with a chill that was unbefitting of this midsummer.
After an unknown time had passed, Silas Hawthorne finally spoke first.
"I have never been intimate with her," he said, "I’m not afraid to tell you, we’ve never even laid on the same bed, at Hawthorne Manor, we sleep in separate rooms."
"What?" Julian Lawson seemed to take a moment to comprehend what Silas Hawthorne was saying.
Silas Hawthorne sneered, saying, "So, do you realize how ridiculous, how excessive it is what you did to her!"
"For something she didn’t even do, you forced her!"
For a moment, Julian Lawson stood bewildered.
Then, guilt surged over him, nearly crushing him.
He thought...
"But Julian Lawson." Silas Hawthorne’s voice came again, still cold, "Even if I were intimate with her, so what?"
"You two are divorced, what identity do you have?"
"What gives you the right to treat her like this?"
"This is rape!"
"You don’t care about her life or death, Julian Lawson, yesterday had I not arrived in time, I suspect she might have died on that bed!"
Only at this moment did Silas Hawthorne’s composed voice begin to uncontrollably show traces of hatred.
He leaned forward, closer to Julian Lawson.
"Aren’t you afraid she’ll be intimate with me?" Silas Hawthorne’s voice was soft, yet sounded as if it came from the depths of hell, "I will. In the future, I will marry Serena, we will lie on the same bed, embrace, kiss, make love, have children, we will do everything a couple does!"
"And you..."
Silas Hawthorne straightened up, looking at Julian Lawson coldly.
"Will be tied to Vera Hansen for your days to come!"
Julian Lawson wanted to say something as he struggled to stand, but Silas Hawthorne had already turned to leave.
Passing by Julian’s calf, giving his wound a kick.
"Ah!"
Sudden pain overwhelmed Julian Lawson speechless, and at this moment, Silas Hawthorne had already left the hospital room.
Jasper Ford had been waiting outside, and when he saw Silas emerge, he nodded at Silas Hawthorne.
The screams from Julian inside, Jasper Ford heard them, but he found no issue, he himself wished he could stab Julian Lawson!
"Julian Lawson is simply unworthy of being human!" Jasper Ford said.
Silas Hawthorne nodded, the two left together.
As they climbed into the car, Silas Hawthorne looked at Jasper Ford.
"I think we can’t let him live too comfortably." Silas Hawthorne gave Jasper Ford a knowing glance.
Jasper Ford rubbed his hands excitedly and then nodded knowingly.
"Let me know if you need anything." Jasper Ford said.
Silas Hawthorne nodded.
The car hit the road, Silas Hawthorne looked out at the rainy weather through the window, his expression cold.
He indeed needed careful planning.
Whether it be the matters of the Sheridan Family or the Lawson Family, he needed thorough planning.
After years of endurance, now seems to be the time for an eruption.
