Playtime's Over, CEO: She's Really Done With You
Chapter 43: Missing the Mole on Her Chest
CHAPTER 43: CHAPTER 43: MISSING THE MOLE ON HER CHEST
This is the first bid tonight for bidder number [888].
Vera Hansen is with Julian Lawson, so the bidder number 888 is essentially Julian Lawson.
Serena Sterling also looked over.
In fact, it wasn’t just Serena; almost everyone’s gaze was focused on Vera Hansen.
The second level is for relatively private guests, but there are options. Some seats allow you to sit where you can be seen, or you can stay hidden.
Vera Hansen was now in the open.
Julian Lawson, however, sat in the shadows. From the first level, people could only vaguely see his outline, not his expression.
Jasper Ford knew the Tanzanite was Serena’s and understood why she brought it here. The moment he saw Vera bid, he almost wanted to rush over and tear her apart.
Serena squinted her eyes, watching the smiling Vera Hansen.
Tonight, she intended to auction off the Tanzanite, but it could be given to anyone except Vera Hansen!
Over in Julian Lawson’s seat, he looked at Vera, who was holding up the bid.
"Do you like it?" he asked calmly, his eyes dark and steady.
Vera nodded with a smile.
Julian didn’t respond, he simply looked at the sparkling Tanzanite below.
He remembered he had seen this Tanzanite before.
It was in early March, when he and Serena saw it together.
They had just dealt with another round of pressure from the grandparents for children.
On the way back to the villa, the Aston Martin passed Aeston’s largest jewelry shop, and they saw this Tanzanite.
On an early March night, the air outside was still a bit chilly, but the inside of the car was warm.
He noticed Serena glancing at it more than once and asked the same question: "Do you like it?"
Serena just smiled and said, "I was thinking, considering how much effort Grandpa and Grandma puts into urging us to have a child, if I got pregnant now, the due date would be in December. And December’s birthstones are Tanzanite or Turquoise."
"It’s just that now we happened to see this Tanzanite, which feels a bit coincidental."
Upon hearing this, he gave the Tanzanite a second look and asked, "Does it mean something?"
"They say Tanzanite symbolizes love and eternity, while Turquoise symbolizes success and victory," Serena replied. "If it were me, I’d prefer to buy the Tanzanite."
She smiled, looking at him: "Because I want to tell the baby that Mom and Dad will always love him."
He raised an eyebrow slightly: "I, on the other hand, hope he will always be successful, always victorious."
Seeing her a little unhappy, he said: "It doesn’t matter. The child of Julian Lawson deserves the most expensive diamond, like that Pink Star."
Serena didn’t seem too concerned about this. When he said he would go buy the Tanzanite, she was a bit upset, so he didn’t pursue it either.
But after returning that day, from the car to the villa, from the entryway to the bedroom, they went at it passionately all night.
In his mind, the scene from that night seemed to reappear; her breath, her warmth, and the fragrance of her body still seemed present.
Also, the mole on her chest...he liked it very much.
Julian Lawson closed his eyes, his Adam’s apple moving slightly. When he opened them again, he took a sip of the wine next to him.
He wondered who ended up with that Tanzanite and why it appeared in this charity auction?
Just as Julian Lawson was slightly calming down.
Suddenly, a white hand extended from a nearby seat, with nails painted in a pale moon color, mysterious and beautiful. This hand held a number card.
"After bidder 888 made an offer, bidder 823 has joined the bidding with an offer of 900,000 yuan!"
Julian Lawson and Vera Hansen both looked over there.
That hand, that seat.
It was Irene!
All eyes focused again, and a loud buzzing filled the entire villa.
"This is the first time Julian Lawson has attended a charity auction in two years, and it’s tonight’s first bid. Plus, it’s not even a particularly special item, who in their right mind would dare to raise the price?"
"Right, when this Tanzanite first came out, I was truly amazed, but it’s just a Tanzanite. It’s still not impressive enough, so I didn’t think of bidding."
"Right, same here. If it were a blue diamond, I might be interested."
"Hang on, wasn’t it that Vera Hansen beside him who made the bid just now?"
"It doesn’t matter; she used Julian Lawson’s number, and since Julian himself didn’t stop her, it’s all the same, right? Even if the female companion likes it, buying it to please her is the same thing."
Everyone nodded, a silent understanding among the group.
Unless it’s necessary to obtain it, giving face to the other party is a customary practice.
"I found out that the bidder is Irene, who’s brought by the third son, Jasper Ford."
Everyone was puzzled.
"What does this all mean? Is Jasper really going to face against Julian Lawson?"
"Who knows, his temper is always volatile. Who knows what’s gotten into him this time?"
As everyone was discussing, in another secret seat on the second level, Alexander Ford laughed his heart out.
"My foolish brother, you already annoyed the old man, and now you do something stupid! It’s hilarious; I don’t even need to do anything else, you can ruin yourself all on your own!"
Next to him, a person hidden in the shadows listened to Alexander’s laughter and quietly sipped his wine.
Elsewhere, Vera Hansen couldn’t believe someone would actually bid against her.
That was her intention.
At this charity auction, she wouldn’t bid on anything too expensive, but wouldn’t go for something too cheap to avoid embarrassing herself and Julian Lawson.
The Tanzanite was just perfect.
It could be said she’s using Julian’s number as a playful purchase; she’s making a contribution for a good cause.
This Tanzanite would be the symbol of their love.
Plus, Julian Lawson wouldn’t let her suffer a loss, what she spent today, he would give her more in return.
Not to mention she could make a significant profit just from online marketing.
This was their first bid; logically, people should let them have it. She even added an extra 100,000 to base price for a total of 800,000, and yet Irene dared to compete!
Whose idea was this? Irene’s or Jasper Ford’s?
A test?
Or was it to go against her or Julian Lawson?
For what reason exactly?
Vera couldn’t understand. Should she bid again?
The Tanzanite was worth 1 million, and her highest offer was 1.2 million, anything over wasn’t worth it to her.
As Vera hesitated, the auctioneer moved on with the process.
Inquiring if there were any further bids.
So, Vera once again raised her bidder card.
She refused to believe that Irene would dare again.
"Bidder 888 has bid again, offering 1 million yuan..."
The crowd continued to buzz.
"She’s raising the bid, seems she truly wants this Tanzanite."
"Will 823 continue?"
Just as everyone turned their attention to look at Serena’s private seat once more.
Before the auctioneer could continue, almost without hesitation, that white hand extended once again.
"Bidder 823 has bid again, offering 1.1 million yuan!"
Vera gritted her teeth, writing swiftly; she couldn’t fall behind.
So—
"Bidder 888 has bid again, offering 1.2 million yuan!"
No need to wait, the next moment—
"Bidder 823 has bid again, offering 1.5 million yuan!"
