Playtime's Over, CEO: She's Really Done With You
Chapter 75: Pressed Her Against a Tree and Kissed Her
CHAPTER 75: CHAPTER 75: PRESSED HER AGAINST A TREE AND KISSED HER
Thinking about it, Vera Hansen lowered her head and pretended to continue crying.
"Brother Julian, I’m okay now, I don’t want to see the doctor."
Julian Lawson frowned, "Your health isn’t good, it might help you to relax a bit."
The doctor nodded as well.
Vera Hansen’s illness was widely talked about, and the doctor had heard about it, naturally feeling very sympathetic.
But Vera just forced a smile and said, "It’s okay, I can just use some painkillers."
Then, she paused briefly, self-mockingly saying, "Someone like me, dying a day earlier or a day later doesn’t make any difference."
Speaking, Vera glanced at Julian Lawson again.
Julian didn’t seem to notice her gaze, just waved his hand to let the doctor leave first.
Then he helped Vera up and took her to the bedroom.
"You’re not dirty, it’s hard to deal with Grandpa and Grandma, I’m indeed not in the mood today," Julian said, "Your health is poor, get some good rest first."
As Julian spoke, he called the caregiver who had already come out of the room when the doctor arrived.
"Take good care of her, got it?" Julian said.
The caregiver didn’t dare respond, just looked at Vera.
And Vera was eagerly staring at Julian.
He lowered his eyes slightly and touched her head.
"I can’t let Grandpa and Grandma know I’m here, I’ll come to see you again when I have time," Julian said.
Vera didn’t dare feign illness anymore, afraid he would call the doctor at the door.
So, she just turned around, pretending to be sad.
Julian didn’t say anything either, just instructed the caregiver again, and then prepared to leave.
But just then.
Vera’s muffled voice came through, "I don’t know what she did to you tonight, what she said to you."
"But Brother Julian, I just want to know what you think."
"Was the issue with the child resolved? What’s going on?"
"Also, she uses the child to force you back, using the elders to pressure you, are you really going to succumb?"
Julian’s departing steps paused slightly.
But, he still left.
Hearing the sound of the door closing, Vera looked at the caregiver packing up beside her, and she reached out and smashed the items.
Damn it!
She had stripped so much standing in front of him, but still didn’t succeed.
This is simply a humiliation!
She can’t go on like this, if the Lawson Family keeps pairing Julian with Serena, what will happen!
Thinking about it, a plan emerged in her mind, she found someone’s number and dialed...
On the other side.
Julian Lawson came down from upstairs.
He sat in the driver’s seat of the Bentley, but didn’t immediately start the car.
He lit a cigarette, looking at the smoky scenery outside the car.
The incident from a year ago...
Even now, he doesn’t want to recall it.
That incident caused many predetermined paths to shift.
As he was leaving, Vera’s words repeatedly surfaced in his mind.
His head suddenly hurt.
Julian rubbed his temples.
Actually, he wasn’t unaware that Vera occasionally went a bit overboard, but...
Never mind, he’s willing to trust her.
She only has six months left.
After these six months, everything will return to normal.
The cigarette burnt out.
Julian extinguished the cigarette butt, gave Ian Yates a call, then started the car and left.
...
PIH.
Music and dance resounded.
Julian Lawson sat by the bar in the private room, watching the people below dance energetically to heavy music.
Ian Yates pushed open the door and came in.
"Drinking alone?" Ian asked curiously.
Julian pointed to the seat beside him, where there were glasses, ice cubes, and alcohol.
Ian sat down, and Julian reached out to pour him a drink.
Neither of them sat on the sofa but leaned under the dimly lit small bar.
"What’s happened?" Ian sipped his drink and asked, "By the way, I heard today the old man asked you to go to Moonlight Manor with Serena?"
"Hmm." Julian responded.
He rotated the ice cube in his glass, calmly watching the dance below.
"Is your bad mood related to that?" Ian continued to ask.
Julian didn’t immediately answer.
His heart was very chaotic.
Serena’s crying refusal, Vera’s words, were all swirling in his mind.
Out of inexplicable impulse, Julian asked, "Last time you said that woman who thought you were a rotten cucumber, how’s it going with her?"
Ian, who was somewhat flippantly interested in Julian, suddenly wilted.
"Bro, are you trying to build your happiness on my pain?" Ian gritted his teeth.
Julian hadn’t thought so much, he just asked casually.
Seeing Julian lost in thought, Ian didn’t bother holding grudges, just drank his whisky, "It’s still the same as before, ignoring me."
"Honestly, I’m not like you, not the power wielder of the Lawson Group in Aeston, but I’m still the heir of my family’s business, right? How can she treat me like that?"
"I’ve sent flowers, bought clothes and bags, done various explanations and apologies, but nothing works."
"Booked her favorite Michelin five-star restaurant, she didn’t go either, finding her is just busy, no time, or simply won’t acknowledge me."
"Ah!"
Ian grew more despondent as he talked.
He even started scratching his head.
Finally, Ian said, "I know, she’s testing my limits."
"Because of my previous outing with the Chaucer Family’s miss."
"Clara Huxley wants to get a hold on me."
Julian watched the hot dancing below.
Isn’t that the case?
Serena is like that too.
Vera’s words re-emerged in his mind.
-
"Was the issue with the child resolved? What’s going on?"
"Also, she uses the child to force you back, using the elders to pressure you, are you really going to succumb?"
-
He had already told Serena that the position of Mrs. Lawson has always been hers. She clearly can quietly wait for these six months to pass, can even go abroad for a vacation, yet she is still doing this.
Is she trying to gain more leverage in the subsequent marriage?
That child might not be registered under the Lawson Family, but as long as there is the child, the old family here will definitely bring them back.
This way, it will use the two elders to pressure him.
She clearly knows the reason why he hurriedly registered with her in the first place.
Moreover, she can still use that child to perform and remind him of the child they lost.
Julian’s eyes narrowed slightly.
He almost got entangled by her.
Trying to pinch him? Ha!
...
Soon, it was the next morning.
Serena Sterling just found a piece of clothing she left here before when she stayed overnight.
Putting it on was still proper.
After tidying up, she went to the residence of Grandpa and Grandma.
But just as she was about to enter, she saw Julian Lawson returning from outside.
Thinking about last night, she didn’t want to see him anymore, so she just turned and walked inside.
"Serena!"
Before she could walk two steps, Julian had already parked the car and walked over, standing beside her.
Serena ignored him, lifting her foot to walk into the house.
The next moment, Julian grabbed her, pulling her to a nearby forest and pinning her against a tree.
Forcefully kissed her.
"Julian Lawson, what are you doin... mmh."
All subsequent words were swallowed by his lips.
