CHAPTER 891: FUNCTION OF THE LOCKET

Krishna, the strategist, spoke,

"It might not be so simple. First, the ghost-type energy from the shadow realm has been sealed. Even Mew could not sense it, so how could others feel it? No, they had not sensed the ghost-type energy from the shadow realm.

Within a few minutes, Gengar appeared before them. Axel could still not understand how his teleportation was more proficient than his Alakazam. Also, it didn’t look like he was using any psychic-type energy while using that move. Or maybe Axel could not detect it cause he was too weak.

Shedinja told Gengar everything, and what they had thought about the whole tower situation.

"Gengar, just like this locket that could hold and seal the ghost-type energy of the shadow realm, don’t you have anything that could also seal all the ghost-type energy of the tower from the ground floor to the 10th floor?"

"Do you think that it is easier to create something like this? This locket is an artifact that has been in my tribe for many generations. So, no, I cannot do such a thing.

But I could free the souls trapped there for over 1000 years."

"Alright, please do it and help those souls.", said Axel.

"Is there a difference between a soul and a spirit?"

"Oh, that is a good question, and yes, there is. A soul is all the knowledge and experience that makes us. It contains thoughts, emotions, and feelings. A spirit is like a transcendent connection with the body and the higher realm, an immaterial part essential for the human being to work.

So, when a Pokemon or a human dies, the body is detached from the soul and spirit. The spirit is eternal, like energy; it cannot be destroyed, but can be converted from one form to another.

But a soul is different. It starts to disappear slowly. All those feelings, emotions, thoughts, and experiences slowly start to go away. It is said that the power of the soul is hidden deep inside the spirit, but it is very hard to unravel it.

So, when a human or a Pokemon dies, the soul and spirit are separated from the body. 90% of the time, the spirit and the soul will not know it is dead. But when it realizes that nobody can see it and its body is being cremated or burned, it realizes that it has died.

So, the spirit and soul are given a certain amount of time in the living world to figure out that it has died and to say goodbye to their loved ones.

Then, it is taken to a higher realm, where the spirit and the soul are first separated. But even though they are separated, it is said that some part of the soul’s power is attached to the spirit.

Anyway, when that is done, the spirit is either punished for the crimes that they have committed or they are sent to the cycle of reincarnation."

"How did you know about such things?", asked Axel.

"Well, my master has mastered the power of souls and spirits, so he knows about these things. Now, let me continue," said Shedinja as it got ready to finish what it had started.

"The process of death starts and ends like this. But for some reason, the spirits on the tower have been stuck up there for more than 1000 years.
