CHAPTER 895: SHEDINJA VS GENGAR

".... they have come prepared."

Axel took Alon’s report and started to read it. The situation was not looking good. This was the first day, and the number of ghost-type Pokemon that they were facing was estimated to be around 100k.

100k was a considerable number. Of course, Axel had assigned a lot of commanders and members for the night’s watch, but it must be noted that not all of them were good at dealing with ghost-type Pokemon. Only Alon’s team was proficient in dealing with them, and there were around 10k members in Alon’s team.

Even with an average of 2 ghost-type Pokemon per trainer, that was a total of 20k, and the process of rotation must be followed, too.

"Tell the teleportation team and healing team to be alert. I will deal with that Gengar and Alon, you will support me. You will also deal with other king-rank Pokemons.

Do remember. Only the commanders will deal with king-rank Pokemon.

Tory, you will be looking after the battle and commanding and telling if something bad happens. Let’s do it.", said Axel.

The Gengar that they were going to face was a tier 2 king rank Pokemon. Yet, why was Axel so focused on this Gengar?

It was because the Gengar was at its peak. It was just shy of reaching tier 3 king rank.

Axel looked at his shadow and said, "It is time. I will need your help with this."

Suddenly, Axel’s shadow started to move on its own, and Shedinja came out of it. Yes, even though it had reached pseudo-champion rank, it still loved to be inside Axel’s shadow.

###

Dealing with nearly 100k ghost-type Pokemon was not a joke. Axel knew that they might suffer some casualty tonight.

"I just don’t understand. The tide just started today but we are already facing 10% of the total tide population on the first day. Why is this happening?", asked Alon clearly frustrated on the situation.

Zoroark went ahead and immediately used the move ’Night daze’. This stopped some ghost-type Pokemon from advancing towards them. A few seconds of peace was not spent on taking long breaths. Other ghost and dark-type Pokemon started to attack, but the battle was not looking good.

There were around 60k members fighting defending the night’s watch. They had around 300k Pokemons and among them at least 120k were at pseudo-king rank.

That was a massive number. Each member of Fairy Tail had at least 2-3 pseudo-king rank Pokemon. This was the minimum requirement to enter the Fairy Tail.

Having a couple of pseudo-king rank Pokemon might seem like a normal thing from perspective of genius like Axel but it was quite a remarkable achievement for a trainer to have 2-3 pseudo-king rank Pokemon and Axel had 100k members who fulfilled this requirement.

So, each wild Pokemon was dealt with by at least one pseudo-king-rank Pokemon. Axel and the commanders had set up the battlefield like that but the fights were still not going in their favor.

One might wonder why that was when the majority of ghost type Pokemon that were attacking them were at rare and elemental rank.

This was because ghost type Pokemon were tricky. Almost all of them have moves like ’Hypnosis’ and ’Confuse ray’. They were not pure damage dealers but they had a lot of tricks up their sleeve.

Also, ghost-type Pokemon who had reached elemental or higher rank had lived for 100s of years. Living for so long had improved their experience. They were very experienced fighters, and experience could sometimes be a substitute for pure power.

###

It look Axel sometime but finally he was able to reach the tier 2 king rank Gengar. It was gliding on air and it had a mischievous smile. It seemed to be enjoying all the slaughter that had been going on.

Axel finally came near it with his Shedinja.

Just when Shedinja came near Gengar, it released all of its aura to intimidate Gengar. Gengar might be mischievous, but it had lived for more than a thousand years. It could already tell that this Pokemon was something that it could not fight against.

It also knew that this tide battle was already a bust from their side after seeing a pseudo-champion rank Pokemon like Shedinja.

Yet, it could not back down from this fight. It had its reasons that it didn’t want to think about. It had a battle to win.

"My master is also a Gengar, so I have a soft spot for you. I will give you a final chance. Return back, take all your subordinates with you, and never return. This is your final warning.", said Shedinja.

Finally, Gengar had the time to properly see who it was dealing it. For the entire time, Shedinja was living under the shadow of Axel. Axel was riding on Gogoat while coming close to it.

Shedinja wanted to hide its presence as much as possible because it didn’t want Gengar to run away. It had trained under one so it knew how crafty Gengar could be.

A lot thoughts flashed in Gengar’s mind after seeing Shedinja. It had lived for more than 1000 years. So, it knew that history and the curse of Shedinja. Yet, here was one who was in pseudo-champion rank.

Was it truly fucked? Had the curse been lifted? Because if it had been lifted then this was a very powerful Pokemon and it didn’t even have a chance.

Then it realized that this Shedinja was not even 10 years old.

Ghost-type Pokemon could live for a very long life and they could just sit and relax and accumulate their power slowly but there were some ghost type Pokemon that trained relentlessly like Shedinja.

Seeing that Shedinja was still a child, Gengar returned with its mischievous smile. There was a lot of things that it could do with this new information and it might even be able to win this battle.

If Shedinja was defeated, the tide battle would be far easier. It could already tell that there must not be many pseudo-champion rank Pokemon on the human side.

"Haha, a kid like you is threatening me? You are 1000 years too young to say anything!!!", shouted Gengar laughing loudly.

Gengar’s eyes glowed in blue and dark light and then suddenly it was enveloped in purple light. After that it rushed towards Shedinja. Axel could tell that the speed of Gengar had clearly increased. It must have used ’Agility’.

But would Gengar be able to hit Shedinja?

Obviously not.

Shedinja dodged the attack quite comfortably.

"Hmm, impressive speed. But that is not enough.", said Shedinja with a smile.

"You think that you are powerful just because of your rank? The battle is not only determined by power and ranks, boy!!!", shouted Gengar.

Its right hand glowed in red aura. It was ’Fire punch’. Being a Pokemon who was more than 1000 years old, it obviously knew that Shedinja was extremely weak to fire type moves.

It also knew that Shedinja had very weak defense and very weak health.

’I only need one hit.’, thought Gengar and moved with even greater speed towards Shedinja but the result was the same.

Gengar grunted in anger. Since Shedinja had weak defense and weak health points, it knew that it must have very high speed. If that was not the case, then how could it have reached pseudo-champion rank?

But Gengar only needed one hit and that was all. This was the only reason why it was still fighting with a Pokemon that was 2 sub ranks higher than it.

It figured that even though Shedinja had many immunities, it was still weak to ghost type moves. Since it was not even 10 years old, it would not have so much experience in dealing with an experienced Pokemon like itself.

So, if it could land a hit on Shedinja, it was going to win and brag it to its friends that had decided to not join it in the fight.

How very wrong it was.

Gengar’s right hand was now glowing in fire and its left hand was glowing in darkish blue light.

It was using ’Shadow punch’ and ’Fire punch’ at the same time.

"That is quite a good mastery. Well, the guy had 1000 years. So, that is acceptable.", murmured Axel.

As Gengar was targeting Shedinja while Shedinja was using all of its status moves like ’Agility’, and ’Harden’.

Finally, it got ready and it rushed towards Shedinja. This time, the speed of Gengar had almost doubled than before. Axel was surprised to see it. What had it done?

But Shedinja had already used moves like ’Agility’ and its speed was very fast. It was quickly able to dodge the move but then something happened.

Axel saw a black flash as a second Gengar came running towards Shedinja. It was also extremely fast and this time, Gengar was able to hit Shedinja with its ’Fire punch’.

BANG!!

Gengar had actually used a substitute before and the original was actually hiding inside a shadow. Even Shedinja didn’t know that it was there. Gengar could only do this because it had fought countless tide battles and it knew that it had to do this for its safety. Thankfully, the substitute plan had come to fruition.

It was mentally patting its back as its hand was striking Shedinja.

But when Shedinja was hit it vanished with a poof of smoke.

Shedinja had actually switched itself with a substitute.

Gengar being the experienced one used its ghost type energy to maximum to sense Shedinja and found Shedinja just a few meters next to it.

It rushed towards Shedinja and used the move ’Shadow ball’ towards it. Shedinja dodged the move effortlessly, but Gengar had already expected it. It started to use the combination of ’Fire punch’ and ’Shadow punch’, but none of them were hitting Shedinja.

Even Shedinja was confused. If the attacks were not landing, why was it not changing its strategy?

Since it had trained under Gengar, it was taught how powerful an experienced ghost type Pokemon were. Almost all of them had their own trump card and it were to fell into it, then it might be facing a lot of troubles.

That was why Shedinja was measuring Gengar and not attacking it till now, but after seeing it for some time, it realized that this Gengar was not so special.

Just as it was thinking about it, Gengar smiled once again and shouted,

"Let me show you the power of an experienced ghost-type Pokemon."

Suddenly, some lines on the ground started to glow in dark blue light. Shedinja realized that it was just in the middle of all these lines. These were the lines that Gengar drew when it was attacking Shedinja. Shedinja was just dodging from the same place.

Suddenly, a dark purple magic circle was formed, with Shedinja at the center of it. Even Axel was confused and concerned about Shedinja.

Since he still had to look after the entire tide battle, he didn’t have the time to look for its status page and its move description.

Shedinja felt that it just could not move. It could not even twitch, let alone move properly. Shedinja also felt that it was having a very hard time even using its ghost-type energy.

"What is this?", shouted Shedinja.

"Haha, you think that I was just playing with you this entire time? Of course, I was trying to device a trap for you and now you are done.", shouted Gengar with a smile on its face.

This move would restrain Shedinja for at least 5 seconds and it could not do anything during this time. This was its ultimate move for Shedinja.

It rushed towards Shedinja and used ’Fire punch’ on its face. Gengar was now confident of its victory.
