CHAPTER 896: THE END OF THE FIRST NIGHT

The punch’s force would have made Shedinja fly away from the impact, but since it could not move, the impact was even greater.

Yet, while looking at the result, Gengar’s mischievous smile disappeared. Even though it was a ghost-type Pokemon, Axel could see its color had been drained from fear.

Unlike what it had expected, Shedinja didn’t suffer any grievous wounds, nor was it lying on the ground dying. It looked as if Shedinja was not even hurt by that ’Fire Punch’.

It must be noted that since it had lived for more than 1000 years, it had very good physical stats and special attack stat. This meant that this Shedinja was immune to ’Fire punch’.

What the hell was going on? Had the curse been lifted?

Gengar didn’t know that Shedinja was now only a ghost-type Pokemon and was immune to fire-type moves.

Gengar knew that it only had 2 seconds left now. It had wasted a second by doing nothing.

’If fire-type moves are not working, then let’s try ghost-type moves.’, thought Gengar.

Because even the ancient Shedinjas were weak in ghost-type moves.

It used the same move as before, but it drastically increased its speed. The move was called ’Shadow Aura,’ which increased the users’ speed and physical power.

It raised its other hand and used ’Shadow Punch’. He punched it in the face of Shedinja. But suddenly, a dark colored barrier instantly appeared in front of Shedinja, shielding it from that punch.

Gengar used all of its power in that punch. Shedinja’s barrier started to crack from the punch, but the 5 seconds were almost over.

ROOOARRR

Suddenly, Gengar gave a painful roar as it crashed to the ground with a loud thud. It saw that it didn’t have a shadow of itself, and it felt very weak. Its whole body was in pain for no reason.

What was happening?

Suddenly, it felt as if the gravity had increased, and now it could not even move properly.

When Gengar used the move ’Fire Punch’, Shedinja had to use ’Endure’ and ’Harden’ to take the hit. Even though it was immune to fire-type moves, effects like getting burned and the sheer power of the attack could affect it. So, it had to take precautions.

When Gengar used ’Shadow Punch’, it used ’Dark-ghost barrier’ to defend against a ghost-type move. This was the move it had personally learned from Lumos, the wandering sage.

It had been trained in this move for quite some time and Shedinja had adequate mastery over the move.

When the 5 seconds were over, it used ’Shadow absorption’ on the Gengar, which reduced its stats by 50% for 10 minutes. This was a powerful move, but it had many restrictions. Fortunately, those restrictions didn’t apply to Gengar.

On the contrary, since Gengar used shadow energy from ghost-type energy, using the move ’Shadow absorption’ to take its shadow and affect it even more, that was why its body was aching for no reason.

Gengar was a bad matchup with Shedinja.

Suddenly, small ’Shadow balls’ started hovering around Shedinja as if ready to attack.

"You said that experience is power. You are wrong. Power is power. Power is the ability to physically make things happen, not just having the will to do so. And right now, I have the power to determine your fate."

Gengar looked very pitiful right now. It knew that it was going to die right now. If Shedinja had not used ’Shadow absorption’, then it might even had a chance to run but now it could not do that too.

"I have made a mistake. I will go back and never return. You promised me that you would let me live.", said Gengar pleading Shedinja.

"That was before. Now, your fate is shielded. Say hello to Giratina for me.", said Shedinja as it flew a bit higher.

Those five ’Shadow balls’ hovering around started to spin at a rapid pace. It looked like those ’Shadow balls’ were sucking all the power from the surrounding area as they got bigger, and the rotation was actually creating a force of repulsion.

"Shadow-Darkness Domain!!!", shouted Shedinja.

Suddenly, everything went dark for Gengar. It was so dark that it could not see anything, and it was a ghost-type Pokemon. All of this was a ghost-type energy, a pre-domain move.

The pre-domain move had been trained thoroughly, and now it had become exceptionally powerful. Inside this pre-domain, Shedinja had become incredibly powerful.

Those five shadow balls that were spinning were now getting bigger and bigger, and now each of them was bigger than Shedinja itself.

3 of them went towards Gengar and..

BOOOM

BOOOM

A massive explosion occurred. Axel didn’t know how Shedinja had trained ’Shadow Ball’ to such a level. The explosion radius was around 20 meters. That was a huge explosion. Axel had warned his team to get out before Shedinja used the move, so they were safe.

But the wild Pokemon were not.

After the explosion ended and the dust and debris cleared, Axel could see that Gengar was seriously injured, but it had not yet died from that attack.

"Damn!! That is some good defense. The concentration of that attack was very high, and Gengar was weak against ghost type Pokemon and it was of lower rank but still it had not died.

Gengar could not believe that it was going to die. It had survived for 1000 years, and now it was going to die. It felt like time had come for some time now, but it didn’t know it would die by fighting Shedinja.

Still, it was a good life and it died by honor. But it was not going out without doing damage to Shedinja.

It expended its tongue out and muttered something, and suddenly, its whole body started to rot and visibly began to shrink, and then it died.

Suddenly, Shedinja felt that it had been hit by something. It felt incredibly weak for some reason.

Axel could already tell that something was wrong with Shedinja. So, he asked, "What happened?"

"It managed to use the move ’Curse’ on me. But worry not, even though the mastery of this move is very high, the effectiveness of the move depends on the health that the user sacrifices. Since it didn’t have much health left, the curse will not affect me much, and I am a pseudo-champion rank Pokemon while it was a tier 2 king rank Pokemon."

Axel sighed in relief. ’Curse’ was an exciting move, and it was very rare because it was very hard to master. It was not hard to learn, but it was hard to master, and had too many restrictions. But it was a deadly move nonetheless.

Yet the fact remained that Shedinja needed to rest and could not fight for the night. Axel called it inside the master ball. Being in a different space would slow the effect of the curse.

The move might look simple, but it was not simple. A status move was never simple. Axel believed that if Shedinja trained in this move in the future, it would become more powerful than it was right now.

Axel wanted Shedinja to learn how to create that magic circle and trap the opponent but it looked like Shedinja was not so lucky.

Now, Axel was facing a huge problem. Since, Shedinja was not here, a powerful force had been removed and they were going facing more problems than before.

Yet a surprising thing occurred. When Gengar died, it looked like the motivation of the wild Pokemon seemed to have hit bottom. Some ran to the forest, and some could not fight with all they had.

This had reduced the pressure on the tide battle.

"Come out!! All of you!!!", shouted Axel and called out all of his senior Pokemons, including Charizard, Slowemperor and Alakazam.

Alakazam was still busy with its experiments and didn’t want to be disturbed but since this was an emergency, Axel had requested its help and it agreed.

Now, with four pseudo-champion rank Pokemon and Kirshna having one too, the pressure of the battle decreased.

None of them had a type advantage against ghost-type Pokemon, but they were pseudo-champion rank Pokemon. This was a risky move. If even one of the pseudo-champion rank Pokemon got injured, then it would create problem in the future battles.

The battle became even easier when the remaining king-rank ghost-type Pokemon were defeated. Most of the ghost type Pokemon started to run back to the forest. The battle went on for 8 hours, and by the time the battle was over, it was already 3 a.m.

WHOSHH WHOSSHHH WHOSSH

Sounded all the members who had won on the first day of the battle. This was a big victory, but Axel was not looking so good. He could tell that none of the members had died which was a miracle by itself, but some of them were seriously injured could no longer fight the tide battle and some of them were permanently injured. This meant that they could never fight a tide battle anymore.

Axel went to his office and told his commanders to give him all the details of the casualties.

"Sir, none of the members are dead, but 30 of them are permanently injured and 200 of them are seriously injured."

"What about the Pokemons?"

"We have lost 259 Pokemon, and 30 were pseudo-king rank."

Axel sighed after hearing the result. This was war, and Axel could not always hope to have zero casualties. The member also knew this, but it hurts a lot when one sees their Pokemon die fighting for themselves.

Axel could tell how those members were feeling.

"Even though they had lost a Pokemon, the war is not over. They can rest for two days and mourn for their Pokemon, but they must be back after that. Also, tell them they would be compensated for their loss.", said Axel.

"Ok, sir. I will do so.", said Alon.

This was one of the worst thing of being a leader in a tide battle. He had to take hard decisions.

All the dead wild Pokemons were cleared for tomorrow’s battle and the ally Pokemons who had died were grounded and mourned.

Axel had to get ready for tomorrow’s battle, and it was already morning. Axel thought to sleep for some time, and it was for the young Pokemon of Axel to take the stage.
