CHAPTER 899: CHARIZARD TAKES THEM BOTH

Charizard had a big smile on its face. Even though Charizard specialized in one-on-one battles rather than a tide battle, it was still not to be underestimated. Charizard singled out Fearow and Butterfree as if telling them to fight with it.

This might be the worst day for both of them. First of all, most of their friends and family had died suddenly, and now they were facing a pseudo-champion rank Pokemon. Granted that both of them only had to defeat one Charizard, it was still a pseudo-champion rank Pokemon.

Butterfree started with ’String Shot’. It had been trained in this move for many years. Even though it was a weak move, with years of training, the move had evolved and become a strong control-type move.

Yet,

A blast of powerful ’Flamethrower’ had incinerated those strings. This had further angered Butterfree to no limit.

Fearow could already tell that there was a minimal chance they would return alive. So, it wanted to inflict as much damage as possible.

It directly used its pre-domain move called ’Sky domain’.

Suddenly, all the air molecules and the wind around it seemed to be following Fearow’s orders. Fearow’s speed had drastically increased to a new height. With the help of its ability and hidden ability, which had been mastered fully, it had now become a deadly beast.

It flew towards Charizard with all of its speed and power. It was using the move ’Aerial Ace’. With the help of its hidden ability ’Sniper’, the move was surely going to cause a lot of damage, and due to its ability ’Keen eye’, there was a very low chance that it would miss.

Fearow flew down with accelerated pace towards Charizard. Its whole body was enveloped in a white, sharp-winded aura. Its eyes looked sharp, and it was ready to strike.

TIINGGG!!!!

Came the sound when its beak hit Charizard. It turned around to see the result of its attack and was surprised by the look on its face.

The defense of Charizard had just been breached slightly, and only a hint of blood was coming from its shoulders. Charizard was not even seriously injured.

Charizard looked at Feraow with a menacing smile when it fired up a powerful ’Flamethrower’

BANG!!!

The move hit Fearow as it rushed back from the impact and finally stabilized itself.

When Fearow and Butterfree were preparing for the attack, Charizard was also preparing.

"Charles, use ’Dragon Scales’ and ’Ash Manipulation’ to increase your defense", said Axel.

Axel knew the weakness of Charizard. It was its defense, especially special defense, but its physical defense was also not very good.

So, Axel told it to use to improve its defense. But Charizard not only did that, but also used the move ’Sunny Day’ and then ’Dragon Dance’ to become even more overpowered.

Charizard was more of a physical attacker than a special attacker. So, with renewed excitement, it bolted towards Fearow using the combination of ’Wing Attack’ and ’Flame Wings’.

Fearow dodged the first time, but it could not dodge the second coming of those attacks.

BANG!!!

This was one of the most powerful moves of Charizard. Fearow was now seriously hurt after that attack, and its left wing was affected by the attack. At that time, Butterfree took advantage of the situation and used the move ’Confusion’ on Charizard. Unlike Fearow, its speed was not so high. It was even slower than Charizard, but Axel noticed that it was using all the advantage of the fight to deal damage to Charizard.

The move did hit Charizard, but it was not confused. The move caused some damage, but it was minor. Charizard turned towards Buttefree and used a powerful ’Flamethrower’ on it.

Butterfree did everything to dodge the attack, but it could not do so at such a close range.

BOOOM

The move sucked out a lot of its health.

The battle continued like that. Charizard was dominating the fight, and Fearow was doing everything to be alive. Butterfree was taking its chances to use control-type moves like ’Confusion’ and ’Sleep Powder’, but Charizard was smart enough to dodge most of them.

The battle went on for 5 minutes, and finally, Fearow had to deactivate its pre-domain move. The move had consumed a lot of its stamina, and it was now taking long breaths.

Even though Charizard was stronger than both of them, the health and defense of the king rank Pokemon were on another level compared to pseudo-king rank. So, it was very time-consuming to kill them.

Fearow knew that it was going to die now. It didn’t even have the option to flee because Charizard would surely catch it. It could have retreated before, but due to its anger of seeing its brethren die, it had decided to teach this Charizard a lesson.

It might be close to its death, but it was not going without doing significant damage to Charizard.

It had already used ’Roost’ and its pre-domain move. So, now it used ’Agility’ and ’Work up’. Butterfree had also used ’Tailwind’ to increase its speed. Its speed and attack were now at the highest level.

It bit its tongue and used the pre-domain move again. It was already going to die, so it didn’t care about not hurting itself.

It used all of its power and flew up to attack Charizard with ’Aerial Ace’. Charizard knew it could be injured by this move as well. So, it took precaution. It used the move ’Flame domain’.

Instantly, its stats increased significantly. The surroundings’ temperature changed immediately, and now it was burning hot. Then it used the move ’Hellfire Punch’ on Fearow.

BANG!!!!

There was a big collision as everyone saw one Pokemon falling to the ground. It was Fearow.

When the dust settled, Axel could see that Charizard had a wound on its right hand.

ROOOOARR

Charizard gave a mighty roar to announce its victory. Now, only Butterfree was left.

Axel also concentrated on Butterfree, and he was surprised to see its injuries heal so fast. Even though Charizard was concentrating on Fearow, it had also landed some powerful ’Flamethrower’ on Butterfree.

Butterfree must also have some injuries, but he could hardly see one.

So, how did it recover so fast?

Charizard started to fight with Butterfree. In its ’Flame domain’, its fire-type moves were boosted, and Butterfree was barely hanging on, and the only reason that it had not yet died was because it was recovering at an exceptional rate.

Even Axel was surprised to see its healing speed.

Axel could already tell that it was a move that Butterfree had created itself, and it was a bug-type move.

Axel wanted Beedrill to learn such a move. Such an overpowered move could not be missed. But even if Beedrill killed that Butterfree with its own hands, there was a minimal chance that it could learn that move.

So, Axel decided to catch Butterfree.

He could see that Butterfree could not last much longer. So, he used a Master Ball and threw it into the sky with all his power. Both of them were fighting in the sky, and they were at a good altitude.

The ball caught Butterfree, and Charizard caught the ball with pure reflex.

Ting... Ting... TING!!!

Butterfree was caught!!!

"Hurray!!!!", shouted Axel.

It had been some time since he had caught a Pokemon after battling them. Most of his Pokemon came from eggs and mutual agreements.

There was a different level of thrill in catching Pokemon like this.

Charizard came and gave the ball to Axel. It was not in a good mood. It wanted to finish the battle with Butterfree.

"You can battle it in the future. Don’t worry.", said Axel, patting its back.

Of course, Axel was not going to keep Butterfree as a part of his team. The Pokemon hated Axel to its core. Axel and his team had killed its friends, families, and its soldiers.

So, there was no way it would want to be a part of his team. He caught it to make a trade. Its friends and family might have died under Axel and his team’s leadership, but it still valued its life more.

So, he decided to give its freedom if Butterfree could teach those moves to Beedrill. It would be a perfect win-win situation.

Axel looked at Sam and Kane and noticed that one of the tier 1 king rank Pidgeot was already defeated, and now they were ganging up on the final tier 1 king rank Pokemon.

He also started to take reports from the aerial battle.

"Sir, among those 6000 Pokémon that were left, half of them retreated to the forest. We didn’t chase them. The other half is still fighting with our Pokemon. This would be dealt with within a few hours.", reported Dory.

Killing 3000 Pokemon in a matter of a few hours might seem preposterous, but if one were to look at the entire battlefield and so many ally flying-type Pokemon fighting in the air, it would make sense.

If Axel didn’t have any knowledge about this world, he would have assumed that the world was ending after seeing the aerial battle and the land battle at the same time. The sheer size of the fight could not even be entirely seen with the naked eye.

"Good. Focus on the injuries and casualties. I don’t want anyone dying on me. Also, if you need the Tauros team, notify me.", said Axel.

After that, Axel called out Pidgeot because it wanted to get some experience in the tide battle. It was eager to show its new moves and tell the others how powerful it had become.

"Flappy, try to protect yourself as much as possible."

Axel was watching the battle, but he couldn’t always focus on his Pidgeot. So, he wanted to be careful.

Staraptor was not eligible to participate in this tide battle because it was not even an elemental rank Pokemon.

Axel looked at the tide battle with a satisfied expression. None of the members had died up to this point. Of course, he had made extensive preparations, created multiple strategies, and also created a teleportation team to make it happen.

Axel had invested more in defense, escape, and healing than he had in offense. This was why he could protect all of his members.

After seeing the battle and giving some commands, he decided to sleep for the night’s watch.

Pokemon POV Starts,

A few days before,

"Hey Garry, I heard that we are finally going to start our tide battle days. Aren’t you excited? I have trained for this moment for many months. HAHAHA", laughed Feraligatr.

Primeape, which had its eyes closed while standing, suddenly opened its eyes and looked at Feraligatr.

’I want to crush this pest. How dare it disturb my sleep!!! Clam down... take a deep breath. You need to control your anger, thought Primeape.

It had quite a short temper, and it was told to control its anger. Because if it didn’t, its mastery over the ability ’Vital spirit’ would go down, and it would not be able to sleep at night.

Yet, it got itched at simple things. Fearligatr knew all this, but it loved to tease Primeape. It always loved to play with dangerous waters.

"Feraligatr, don’t disturb Garry. It is resting now, and yes, we will participate from tomorrow. Salamence, you, Aerodactyl, Garry, Lucario, and I will be participating from tomorrow.

You know all the drills that we trained on. Gogoat will be helping us, but I don’t want it to interfere. I want all of us to handle the tide battle ourselves.

I want the senior Pokemon and Axel to know that we are not kids anymore."
