CHAPTER 902: TOGEKISS, THE LEADER

After talking with Butterfree, Axel was sure about a couple of things. First of all, someone, most probably Arceus, was pulling the strings and manipulating these Pokemon with voices in their heads.

This was a serious issue. Did that mean that all the recent tide battles that had been increasing were because of it? One cannot rule out the possibility of such things. So, even with the tower incident, the number of Pokemon attacking them would not decrease as they had hopped.

Of course, Mismagius and its core team would not be attacking but that was not a huge number.

The second thing that made him nervous was about Mismagius and Aegislash. Ghost-type Pokemon like Mismagius might not be as strong in the early stages, but when they reach king rank, they become one of the unstoppable forces. Even though Mismagius had backed out, Axel had to prepare for it. What if it attacked for some reason?

Also, Aegislash was not easy to deal with either. Even though it was only a tier 3 king-rank Pokemon, it was something Axel had never faced before. It was said that it had strong illusion abilities, and it was very complicated to fight against.

Axel also asked Butterfree about all the king-rank Pokemon that they had on their side. Butterfree didn’t know about all of them, but it shared what it knew.

"Sir, Can’t we start the meeting right now? The tide battle is going on, and it will not be ideal to leave the field for so long.", said Hector.

Axel had called a meeting immediately after taking with Butterfree. It was something that he must do if they wanted to survive the tide battle. It was very rare for Axel to call the emergency meeting in the middle of the tide battle, so Hector knew that it was important but they were in the middle of a tide battle.

"Let’s wait for Alon for some time. I want all of us to be together when starting this meeting.", said Axel.

Hector didn’t voice out loud, but he was extremely angry with Alon, right? Alon was responsible for the night’s watch. So, obviously, he was sleeping right now.

Finally, after 5 minutes, everyone heard a knock on the door, and the door slowly opened. Alon came inside with sleepy eyes and sat on the chair.

"Let’s start this meeting. I called this emergency meeting because I have some new information about the tide battle.

We thought that since we have solved the tower incident, the number of Pokemon that we will be facing will be lower, but it looks like that is not the case. The number will be the same.", started Axel.

"What do you mean? So, the number of Pokemon that we will be facing is not going down? What about ghost-type Pokemon?" asked Jin.

"Yes, I talked with Butterfree, and it says that....."

Axel then explained about the voice that it heard and also about Mismagius and it backing out, and Aegislash taking over.

"Mismagius and its team is a very small number of the larger population. So, excluding Mismagius, a total of 5 tier 3 king-rank Pokemon will not be attacking us. There are also 3 tier 2 king-rank Pokemon and around 100k other Pokemon.

That is all. We have yet to fight any tier 3 king-rank Pokemon. That means that we will still have to face 5 tier 3 king rank Pokemon, and the tide battle will come to its end very soon."

"So, there is a chance that we might be facing all 5 of them at the same time."

"That is a possibility."

It was extremely rare to face all of the tier 3 king-rank Pokemon at the same time. All of these Pokemon have their own ego to fight alone. But Axel and the team had faced such a situation before. So, he could not be sure about it.

"So, the flying and the ghost-type Pokemon have backed out, and we need to deal with others now.", said Alon.

"Incorrect. Butterfree and Mismagius are not the sole leaders of flying and ghost types. There are other Pokemon leading them, too. Of course, they were the most dominant force. So, we must be ready for flying and ghost-type Pokemon, too."

"But since the Butterfree incident, we have yet to face any flying-type Pokemon."

That was true. When Butterfree talked to its friends and families, they stopped attacking the town, and they did not face any flying-type Pokemon, but that was not the case for ghost-type Pokemon. They were still facing some ghost-type Pokemon at night.

None of them were in tier 2 king rank or above, but there were some tier 1 king rank ghost-type Pokemon at night.

"Sir, do you plan to go inside the forest to infiltrate?", asked Alon.

They had done such a thing before. It was full of risk, but the result was also very nice.

Axel shook his head and said, "No, we are not going to do such a thing. I am very worried about that, Mismagius. A pseudo-champion rank ghost type Pokemon is not something to joke about.

Even though it has decided not to attack us, if we infiltrate their place, then it might attack us. We don’t know the place of its residence, so we might just run into them.

So, we cannot do that. We will have to be ready for the massive force at any time. Don’t worry; I have multiple tier 3 king rank and pseudo-champion rank Pokemon to deal with all of them.

The only thing that I am worried about is the safety of members."

Even though Axel and the team had the capability to deal with those 5 tier 3 king-rank Pokemon, the appearance of a tier 3 king-rank Pokemon would disturb the entire battlefield.

"Don’t worry, sir. We will get it done."

Young Pokemon POV,

It was a normal day for the young Pokemon. The day started with a normal tide battle. Togetic, Salamence, Feraligatr, Aerodactyl, Primeape, and Lucario had already trained and fought with a specific plan for many days now, and they had gotten used to the new environment.

Even though they had fought in tide battles before, it was very restrictive, with Gogoat protecting them all the time. Now, things have changed. Most of them had ranked up to pseudo-king rank recently, with Togekiss being the first.

Actually, except for Salamence and Lucario, all of them were at pseudo-king rank. So, their base power had increased a lot more than before. They had trained in their moves very extensively and had grown stronger.

"Another incoming. Garry, get ready!!!", shouted Salamence.

It was flying in the air. Since it was a flying-type Pokemon, its job was to look out for any possible enemies that would be coming its way.

Under the guidance of Gogoat, they had been fighting like this for quite some time.

Soon, everyone saw a group of 6 Pokemon coming towards them. 3 of them were Golem, and 3 of them were Hariyama.

’Quite a strong team.’, thought Togekiss.

When they came near, Primeape immediately used the move ’Taunt’. This was a new move that it had learned and the move had been upgraded to have some other effects.

Taunt (Primeape) (Level 40): Can use the move to attract the opponent to fight against it and also make the opponent angry towards it.

(Level 45): Can attract multiple opponents in the 10-meter radius around it.

The move would normally not let others use any status moves during the fight. Now, Primeape was using this move to attract all the opponents that it was facing. This was a handy ability, and it was very powerful.

Since all of them would be attacking only Pokemon, the battle had gotten extremely easy now. Primeape then used the move ’Beserker hollow’ to take all the hits. It had become quite a tank for the team.

Togekiss looked at Aerodactyl and said, "Use it now!!"

Aerodactyl used the move ’Wide guard’. The move had also been trained and improved.

(Level 45): The defense of this move has increased

(Level 50): Can protect the user and its allies for 15 minutes.

A brown aura enveloped each and everyone on the team. Their defense had rapidly increased, and now they could take hits too, and they had nothing to worry about.

This move would obviously take a lot of stamina out of Aerodactyl, so it would only use the move after receiving Togekiss’s orders.

Togekiss had a remarkable instinct to say if the group was dangerous or not. It was due to its passive move ’Feelings’, which had recently been upgraded.

Feelings (Togekiss):

(Stage I): The user can get a feel of other’s feelings and what they are thinking at the moment. It cannot be triggered at will and can only be triggered randomly.

(Stage I): While fighting, there is a small chance that the user can trigger the effect of this passive move, predicting what the opponent will do next.

At first, Togekiss thought that this move was not so good or powerful, but when it was upgraded to stage II, Togekiss could feel the intent of every Pokemon that it was fighting against.

Of course, it would not activate all the time, but it was never wrong. This passive move also made it a menace in single-fighting battles. Most of the time, it could predict the moves of its opponents, so it was rarely hit by any attack.

The move ’Sunny day’ was already used. So, Togekiss used the move ’Solar beam’ on those 3 Golem. 3 back to back ’Solar beams’ attacked each of those Golem, and they were all flung high in the sky before falling down. Golem were very weak against grass-type moves, but none of them had died.

All 6 of them were pseudo-king rank Pokemon, and they had a lot of health and defense. Togekiss also used the move ’Thunder wave’ on all 3 Hariyamas, and all of them were now partially paralyzed.

"ATTACK!!!", shouted Togekiss.

All of them were now ready to attack. Aerodactyl went ahead and used ’Dragon breath’ on all 3 Hariyama. 2 of them were able to dodge it, but one of them got hit by it. Since all of them were partially paralyzed, their speed had decreased a lot. Aerodactyl used the advantage of it and used the move ’Crunch’ on the one that had been hit by ’Dragon breath’.

It was able to deal devastating damage, and a part of its shoulder was torn off from that attack. This was all due to careful planning and its passive move ’Devine teeth’.

Its passive move had rapidly improved its teeth’s power and their tearing effect. Aerodactyl had especially attacked the right shoulder of Hariyama with ’Dragon breath,’ and it was already bleeding from it.

So, when it used the move ’Crunch’ on it, it was able to tear it apart.

Aerodactyl didn’t fight it for too long and moved to battle another Hariyama. The injured one was swiftly dealt by Feraligatr.

"That is a very good strategy. It looks like Togekiss has improved its leadership qualities.", said Axel while looking at his Pokemon fight.

Before its evolution and rank up, Togekiss had always wanted to be the leader of the young Pokemon group. But it never had any leadership qualities. But now, it was sacrificing its own might to improve the team’s overall powers.

Togekiss might be the most powerful pseudo-king rank Pokemon he ever had. It was very powerful. This was not only due to hard work but also to luck. He knew that if it wanted, it would have fought with all 6 of them at the same time and also had a narrow victory.

But it didn’t do it but instead coordinated the team to do it. This showed that it had matured a lot.

Also, the strategy might have been basic, but it was very precise and had a good effect in the tide battle.
