Rumors had it that Mew was the guardian of the World Tree, yet it had actually appeared near the Ancient Giant Tree instead.

Could the Ancient Giant Tree be somehow related to the World Tree?

One might even speculate—could it be like a father-and-son relationship?

In fact, that guess was pretty much correct.

There was only one World Tree, but there were ten Ancient Giant Trees, and each of them had sprouted from the seeds of the World Tree.

So they really were parent and child.

Normally, the Ancient Giant Trees were just older trees with an impressive origin.

But their true role only came into play when the World Tree reached the end of its life.

Everything had a lifespan that eventually came to an end; the World Tree was no exception.

Whether due to natural aging or perhaps it encountered a massive crisis—in any case, when the World Tree perishes, one of the ten Ancient Giant Trees would become the new World Tree, while the remaining nine would serve as its foundation.

It was like an ancient emperor suddenly passing away without naming a crown prince or successor, leading his ten sons to engage in a brutal power struggle for the throne.

Once the victor emerged and became the new emperor, he certainly wouldn't spare his nine brothers—only by getting rid of them could he truly secure his position.

Aside from watching over the World Tree, Mew also had to check on the ten Ancient Giant Trees from time to time. Even though the chances of the World Tree encountering problems were extremely slim, it couldn’t afford to be complacent.

If something really did go wrong, those ten Ancient Giant Trees would become extremely important.

Imagine if the World Tree had an issue, and one or two of the Ancient Giant Trees were also compromised—that would be a real disaster.

So recently, Mew happened to be napping here—near the third Ancient Giant Tree.

After sleeping for about ten years or so, it would go check on the fourth one.

But before even a few years had passed, Celebi barged into its tree hollow and woke it up.

And that led to the scene unfolding now.

"Mew, how about I trade you something else for it?"

As he spoke, Julian bought a plush doll from the system shop—a life-sized replica of Mew.

"Mew!"

Seeing a doll that looked exactly like itself, Mew clearly found it fascinating. It flew up to the doll and poked its face with a tiny paw.

Julian smiled slightly. "Well? Do you like it? If you do, it’s yours—but you have to give me back what’s in your hands."

"Mew~"

Mew shook its head, hugged the Dowsing Machine tightly, and floated away from the plush.

As if to say, 'I want this instead.'

Julian: 'Damn, not easy to trick, huh? Way smarter than Celebi.'

Celebi shouted from the side: "It likes fried chicken—it even stole mine earlier!"

'Wait, really?'

Julian froze for a moment, then called out, "Gengar!"

Gengar emerged from his shadow.

Julian reached into Gengar’s belly and pulled out a box of fried chicken drumsticks. Gengar put on a "pained" expression, its fingers trembling as it pointed at Julian, its face a mix of heartbreak, misery, and utter betrayal.

The drama king Gengar had taken over.

"How about this?"

Julian opened the box of fried chicken, and instantly, a delicious aroma filled the air.

But instead of luring Mew, he ended up attracting Celebi—the absolute dumbass—who came rushing over.

Julian realized he’d been played. It wasn’t Mew that liked fried chicken—it was Celebi who wanted it.

Watching Celebi happily munching away, Julian’s face darkened. "If you don’t give me a good explanation, I’m deleting your Pokémon Glory account the second we leave this Ruin."

Celebi froze, stopped what it was doing, and awkwardly put the drumstick back: "Alright, alright, take a look."

Then it pulled out an untouched chicken leg and turned to Mew. "Here! For you!"

It thought Mew would come over right away—after all, Mew had just stolen its chicken drumstick earlier.

But instead, Mew shook its head.

"Mew~"

Mew: "That stuff isn’t healthy."

At this moment, Julian felt like he was looking at that well-behaved kid from next door.

His gaze shifted to Celebi, now resembling a disappointed parent catching their child in a lie.

Celebi couldn’t take it anymore. Just moments ago, Mew wasn’t like this at all, but now it was putting on a show!

And what was with Julian’s expression?!

Furious, Celebi pointed at Mew and yelled: "You manipulator! FAKER! Julian, you have to believe me—it’s all an act!"

"Mew?"

Mew tilted its head innocently, as if to ask, 'What’s a manipulator?'

The head tilt was so adorable it nearly gave Julian a sugar-rush.

Arcanine: 'My head tilt isn’t cute enough, huh?'

Julian patted his own cheeks to snap out of it. He told himself not to be fooled—the Dowsing Machine was still in Mew’s hands.

After a moment’s hesitation, he gritted his teeth and bought a box of Mew’s Exclusive Pokéblocks from the system shop.

'Damn it, 3,000 points for a box of ten?! That’s 300 points per Pokéblock!'

That was outrageously expensive.

Even Metagross’s exclusive Pokéblocks only cost 1,000 points.

Sure, he had over 600,000 points saved up, but that didn’t mean he could just splurge like this!

Still, for the Dowsing Machine, he had no choice but to bleed a little.

He opened the box and sprinkled some 'Fluffy Powder' on the Pokéblocks—a seasoning that enhanced their flavor.

"Here, try this. It’s healthy and delicious."

Mew floated over, but it still clutched the Dowsing Machine tightly in its tiny arms. Julian’s eye twitched. It didn’t seem like it was planning to give it up anytime soon.

Mew sniffed the aroma of the Pokéblocks curiously before picking one up and popping it into its mouth. Instantly, its eyes lit up and then squinted with delight.

No Pokémon could resist the allure of its own exclusive Pokéblocks—and if they could, a sprinkle of Fluffy Powder would do the trick.

Sensing Mew’s joyful aura, Julian smirked in satisfaction.

"Tasty, right? How about this—I’ll give you the whole box and you give me back that device." Julian pointed at the Dowsing Machine in its arms.

Mew nodded and immediately returned the Dowsing Machine to Julian, then happily hugged the Pokéblocks and continued eating.

"Don’t eat too many at once—two are enough," Julian said.

It wasn’t that he was worried about Mew overeating—it was a First-class Legendary after all, no way it could be stuffed—but because he was worried that if Mew finished them, it might ask him for more. Then what? Buy again or not?

Luckily, the Dowsing Machine was back in his hands.

Looking at the big red dot still on the screen, Julian now realized that it wasn’t pointing to some Ultimate treasure—it was marking Mew itself.

So when he had told Celebi to find the Ultimate treasure, the little guy ended up finding Mew instead. That explained everything.

Surprisingly, Mew actually listened to Julian. After eating two Pokéblocks, it waved its tiny hand, and the box vanished into thin air.

"Mew!"

It circled around Julian a few times. He wasn’t sure what it was up to, but he wasn’t worried—Mew wasn’t the type to attack out of nowhere.

Then, without warning, Mew reached out and lightly tapped Julian’s forehead with its paw.

In the next second—

Boom!

Julian felt his Advanced Aura Power instantly surge to Master Level.

Now, with Master-Level Aura Power and Master-Level Psychic Abilities, Julian had officially become a dual-Master-tier ability user.
