Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth
Chapter 842: Ancient Stone Tablet
"The thirty-first lot consists of eight Eevees with Cyan-grade potential."
As the host spoke, staff members beside the stage slowly wheeled out a cart from behind the curtains. On it lay eight Poké Balls, resting quietly.
The host continued, "These eight Cyan-grade Eevees are all below level 10 and were obtained through legal means. None of them have ever had a trainer, so there’s no need to worry about disobedience after purchase."
"The starting bid is 100 million, with each increment no less than 10 million."
Right from the start, it was an explosive offering—eight Cyan-grade Eevees at once.
Currently, Eevee had exactly eight evolution forms.
On the market, a single Cyan-grade Eevee was valued at around 10 million. Due to their popularity among trainers, the price consistently remained high, and it was often difficult to acquire one even if one had 10 million.
With eight Cyan-grade Eevees here, the total value undoubtedly exceeded 100 million.
Sure enough, as soon as the host finished speaking, many began bidding enthusiastically.
In less than ten minutes, the price had already reached 150 million, and the pace of bidding showed no signs of slowing.
Julian, however, had little interest in Eevees. After all, Eevee didn’t have a Steel-type evolution—or if it did, it hadn’t been discovered or researched yet to enable Eevee to evolve into a Steel-type.
Eight Cyan-grade Eevees—if released on the open market, they would have derived Eevee trainers into a frenzy.
Finally, the eight Eevees were sold for 560 million, averaging 70 million per Eevee—far exceeding their market value.
The appearance of eight Cyan-grade Eevees in one go was exceptionally rare, which naturally justified the premium price.
Subsequent auction items included various Pokémon-related items, recipes for Pokéblocks, and breeding notes on the Raichu lineage from a Pseudo-Champion Electric-type trainer, among others.
Soon, it was time for the thirty-eighth lot.
As the item was wheeled onto the stage, the eyes of most attendees lit up.
"Everyone, this is a Cyan-grade pseudo-legendary Pokémon egg—a Larvitar. The term 'pseudo-legendary' alone speaks to its rarity. The starting bid is 100 million, with each increment no less than 10 million."
Pseudo-legendary Pokémon represented power and rarity in every context.
Owning a pseudo-legendary meant that, as long as you didn’t falter, you already had one foot in the Elite tier.
Ella specialized in Dark-type Pokémon, and Larvitar’s final evolution, Tyranitar, was Rock/Dark type—making it a perfect fit for her.
200 million, 300 million, 400 million—the price continued to soar. Even the Dawson family joined in, since a pseudo-legendary egg was exceedingly rare, even for them.
Seeing the bid for the Larvitar egg soar to 700 million, the three major families began to look uneasy.
They could have secured it at 600 million, but Eric’s interference kept driving the price higher.
It seemed that Eric knew the three families were buying this egg for Julian and had no intention of letting them have it easily.
Each of the three families had total assets exceeding 100 billion, but that didn’t mean they had that much liquid cash on hand and for a single item at that.
"800 million!" Eric called out, then sneered as he glanced toward Julian’s private box.
Most people had already stopped bidding once the price went over 400 million.
They weren’t foolish—they couldn’t afford to cross the Dawson family, much less the Walkers.
Seeing Dave sweating nervously, Julian decided not to push him further and said, "I’ll take it from here. If possible, help me secure the stone tablet later."
Dave nodded awkwardly, too exhausted to keep competing.
"Commander, I don’t really need this Pokémon egg," Ella shook her head.
Spending the three families’ money didn’t bother her in the slightest, but if it was Julian’s money, she would definitely feel the pinch.
"I’m giving it to you, so just accept it. You have great potential—raise this Larvitar well, and reaching the Pseudo-Champion tier someday won’t be difficult," Julian said.
"One billion."
The bid shot straight to 1 billion, causing an uproar in the venue.
This time, Eric didn’t raise his paddle again. He knew when to stop. Though the Dawson family dominated Victoria, compared to the Walker family, they were still far behind.
Spending a billion of liquid cash on a single item would damage even their finances.
A pseudo-legendary Pokémon egg typically had a market value of around 300 million, but they were almost never sold. These eggs were typically held by the most powerful clans—who needed them for themselves and would never part with them.
Any pseudo-legendary egg that did appear on the market usually came from a lucky civilian trainer who found one by chance in the wild or a secret realm—then sold it because they couldn’t protect it, or worse, it had been acquired through shady means.
Clutching the incubator containing the Larvitar egg tightly, Ella was visibly moved. If not for the inappropriate setting, she might have offered herself to Julian on the spot.
Then came the 43rd lot.
"This is an ancient stone tablet recovered from a Ruin overseas. The inscriptions have faded over time, but it still holds significant research value."
"The starting bid is 10 million."
As the stone tablet was brought onto the stage, the Unowns in Julian’s chest began to heat up once again—the same burning sensation they gave whenever they sensed one of their kind nearby.
Stone tablets like this were practically useless to anyone who wasn't a Pokémon scholar. Even among scholars, few could decipher the content inscribed on them.
In the end, Dave purchased the tablet for just 50 million.
"Master Walker, perhaps we should buy another item?" Dave said somewhat apologetically. He hadn’t expected the tablet to be so "cheap," which made it feel somewhat inadequate in terms of prestige.
Julian shook his head. "No need. I like it very much."
He soothed the Unowns inside him, urging them not to cause any commotion. After all, now wasn’t the time. Since the tablet was already in his hands, the Unowns obediently quieted down.
Gently tracing his fingers over the tablet, Julian studied the ancient script. Though it consisted of only three characters, its meaning went far beyond that. He murmured softly, "Guardian of the World Tree, Mew."
This tablet recorded the existence of Mew, written in ancient script—no wonder no one had known about the existence of the Mythical Pokémon until now.
"Master Walker, can you read the text on it?" Dave asked curiously.
Julian nodded. "Yes. I’ve always had an interest in ancient tablets like this, so I’ve done some research."
Dave nodded in sudden understanding. "I have a few friends who have ancient tablets in their collections. I’ll see if I can buy them for you."
