Gardevoir floated gracefully in mid-air, having undergone Mega Evolution, with its psychic power extending across kilometers to lock onto Jack and all of his remaining Pokémon.
If Jack even considered attempting another teleportation escape, he would immediately be struck down by overwhelming psychic force.
As for the middle-aged man with the goatee, he hadn't even been given a chance to resist. He had already been struck by Hypnosis and collapsed unconscious on the ground, leaving Chris free to focus entirely on dealing with Jack.
"Dragon Claw!" Chris commanded with authority.
The Dragon Rush had missed due to the teleportation attempt, but that wasn't a significant problem—they would simply execute another attack.
Mega Garchomp brandished two massive scimitar-like claws coated with dark green draconic energy, slashing horizontally with the clear intention of cutting Jack in half on the spot!
"Iron Defense!" Jack quickly threw another Poké Ball in desperation.
Magnezone emerged onto the battlefield, immediately activating Iron Defense as brilliant silver-white light enveloped its entire metallic body. It positioned itself between Mega Garchomp and its trainer, attempting to intercept the devastating attack.
"CLANG!" The sound of metal being violently penetrated echoed through the forest.
Magnezone was cleaved through instantly and sent crashing directly into a massive tree nearby. Its steel oval body was dented inward like a damaged UFO, clearly having suffered a catastrophic blow from tremendous force.
The Pokémon had to thank the world's protective laws governing Pokémon battles—otherwise, Magnezone would have been sliced cleanly in half rather than merely incapacitated.
Even though Magnezone possessed excellent defensive capabilities, had activated Iron Defense, and resisted Dragon-type moves (meaning Dragon Claw should have dealt only half damage), it still couldn't withstand a single technique from Garchomp's terrifying attack power after Mega Evolution.
A complete one-hit knockout!
"How... how is this possible!" Jack's eyes widened in disbelief.
The immediate visual impact completely shattered his understanding of power levels.
One of the primary reasons he had trained Magnezone was its Steel typing, excellent defense, and ability to serve as both transportation and a protective shield. Now this supposedly reliable shield had been effortlessly slashed through by Chris's Mega Garchomp?
Was the gap between himself and Chris really this enormous?
He was an Elite Four member of the Kingdom of Thousand Castles!
Chris was supposedly just a newly-promoted Gym Trainer from China!
How could this be possible!
Jack's assessment of Chris was rapidly escalating: China's newly-promoted Gym Trainer → Elite among China's Gym Trainers → This person definitely possesses Elite Four-level strength comparable to China's best!
After battling against Dusknoir, Alakazam, and Magnezone, Chris had gained a general understanding of the Elite Four "Boss Jack" from the Kingdom of Thousand Castles.
His skill level was roughly equivalent to an average Gym Trainer from China.
This realization disappointed Chris significantly. Even if the Kingdom of Thousand Castles was a small nation, he hadn't expected their Elite to be this weak!
What kind of Elite Four was this? Jack wasn't even as strong as Senior Alexis had been.
Alexis: ???
Regarding Mega Garchomp's ability to instantly defeat Magnezone despite its activated Iron Defense, Chris was initially surprised but quickly realized it was due to his held item's effect.
Crackling Dragon Fang: Increases Dragon-type move power by 40%, provides a 30% chance to reduce opponent's defense during physical attacks, and enhances weather-based bonuses.
The 30% defense reduction chance had been triggered.
Even Magnezone, with its steel-like durability, became as fragile as paper after its defense was lowered.
"Alakazam, Psychic! Sableye, Shadow Sneak! Electivire, Ice Punch!"
Facing the approaching Mega Garchomp with its terrifying offensive capabilities, Jack issued orders in panic.
Alakazam crossed its silver spoons in front of its chest, spreading psychic power and condensing it into concentrated force to suppress Mega Garchomp from above.
Sableye dove into the shadows beneath Mega Garchomp's feet, extending two sharp claws to restrain its movement.
Electivire charged forward with raised fists covered in frost!
A three-against-one battle?
An Elite Four member fighting a Gym Trainer with numerical advantage?
How shameless!
Chris raised his hand and snapped his fingers decisively.
"Earthquake!"
Mega Garchomp immediately executed a powerful ground-shaking attack. Sableye's Shadow Sneak had no effect whatsoever, and Alakazam's Psychic attack was easily manageable!
Furthermore, because the "Crackling Dragon Fang" effect had triggered, Garchomp's defensive capabilities were now substantially enhanced.
Crackling Dragon Fang: Increases Dragon-type move power by 40%, provides a 50% chance during physical attacks to boost the user's own defense and special defense. When receiving damage from super-effective moves, the effect is weakened by 33%.
"BOOM!"
As soon as one massive foot struck the ground, violent shock waves erupted outward.
Sableye was forcibly ejected from the shadows.
Electivire, which had been charging forward, converted its offense to defense just in time, spreading its arms to create a "Wide Guard" barrier, attempting to block the Earthquake attack.
However, this was Earthquake enhanced by the "Landrus's Treasure"!
Another technique released by Mega Garchomp!
The power was so immense that even genuine Elite-level Pokémon wouldn't dare face it directly!
When Wide Guard collided with Earthquake, it shattered almost instantly. Transparent, glass-like barrier fragments scattered through the air as Electivire was blasted away.
"Sableye, Mega Evolution!" Jack quickly revealed his Key Stone ring.
Sableye underwent Mega Evolution while airborne after being struck by Earthquake.
Surrounded by brilliant multicolored light, the red gemstone on its chest emerged from its body and rapidly enlarged until it became a massive gem capable of shielding its entire form.
Using this as protection, Sableye embedded itself heavily in the ground, successfully blocking the remaining Earthquake effects!
Jack and Alakazam survived by taking shelter behind Mega Sableye.
However, Electivire, as a pure Electric-type Pokémon, was vulnerable to Ground-type moves and was instantly defeated!
"Moonblast!"
"Crunch!" Chris added additional commands.
Jack and Alakazam's survival was only temporary.
Having assessed Jack's true strength, Chris had lost all interest in prolonging this battle.
Mega Gardevoir raised its hands, and despite the light rainfall, the dark clouds above suddenly parted to reveal a night-like starry sky. Pink energy began falling from above, covering Alakazam, Mega Sableye, and Jack himself.
A beautiful pink meteor shower descended upon them.
"Pink memories~" Chris couldn't help humming to himself, enjoying the aesthetic spectacle.
Meanwhile, Mega Garchomp advanced with the predatory ferocity characteristic of the dragon clan. Dark energy surrounded its body as malevolent power filled its gaping maw. Its reptilian eyes locked vertically onto Alakazam before attacking suddenly, biting down like a crocodile or shark.
