For the next several days, Chris remained at Dragon University.

This was because he had entrusted Landorus's Treasure to his teacher for research purposes.

Vladimir's research had no definite timeline, so Chris had no idea when he would be able to leave the university.

Fortunately, Green Valley Ranch was under Wanda's capable management, and Green Valley Gym hadn't been challenged by any particularly stubborn trainers recently, allowing Chris to enjoy a very relaxed period.

He lived comfortably in the villa on Trial Island No. 7.

Each morning, he would wake up and go surfing, then head to the university to audit various classes. Occasionally, he would train his Pokémon, and in the evenings, he would play video games.

Everything seemed to have returned to the peaceful times of the past.

The day after Theodore's welcome-back celebration feast, Chris was resting on his balcony while Gardevoir gracefully poured tea for him.

Zeraora was perched on the roof's edge, leisurely placing the specially crafted Pokéblocks that Chris had made specifically for it into its mouth, one by one, to savor the taste.

Although the treats were delicious, Zeraora maintained an air of indifference, as if it couldn't care less about such luxuries.

After their initial interactions, Chris had discovered that this Pokémon had a personality similar to Greninja's—both possessed that cool, aloof temperament. Every day, Zeraora was either training its own techniques or sparring with Greninja and Garchomp.

Among all of Chris's Pokémon team, only those two possessed the strength to compete with Zeraora on equal terms.

A battle maniac with a cool demeanor—how perfectly fitting!

Chris expressed complete satisfaction with Zeraora's impressive image.

"Get ready, we have another powerful opponent to face!" Chris announced to Zeraora.

"Zera!" Zeraora immediately sprang to its feet, brimming with fighting spirit. Electric sparks danced around its body as it looked around, searching for the strong enemy Chris had mentioned.

"Not here," Chris gestured for Zeraora to remain calm.

The powerful opponent they would face next existed within his handheld device.

Currently, Chris was riding his Totem-sized Salamence toward the water capital known as "Alto Mare."

That's right—Chris's target was Alto Mare's legendary siblings, Latios and Latias.

When he had checked their information, he saw that Latios was at the impressive level of 75, while Latias was only at level 60.

His current strategy was to have Zeraora hold down Latios, then use his other five Pokémon to overwhelm Latias! After capturing Latias, he would return to deal with Latios.

After subduing both siblings, he would also obtain the legendary Pokémon item known as the "Soul Dew."

Perfect!

The plan was already written; it just depended on whether the other actors would cooperate.

The countdown to arrival showed 1 minute remaining.

"Oh right, I remember that Alto Mare triggers a story mode," Chris suddenly recalled.

He stood up and returned to his room to sit down.

3... 2... 1...

When the countdown ended, the scenery before Chris suddenly transformed from the narrow sky view to the open city streets.

He had arrived at the Pokémon Center in Alto Mare.

However, the streets of Alto Mare today didn't seem as lively as usual. Few pedestrians were visible, and those who were present walked with hurried, anxious steps.

Perhaps it was due to the threatening weather.

The sky was overcast, with gray and dark clouds covering everything above, suggesting that an unexpected storm was approaching.

Chris turned and walked into the Pokémon Center, but was surprised to find it unexpectedly crowded. Dozens of trainers had packed into the lounge area, filled with nervous conversations. Many people appeared panicked and uncertain.

"Did something happen here?" Chris sensed that the atmosphere was wrong, but he still approached Nurse Joy to have his Pokémon healed, especially since they had an important battle ahead.

Just after the treatment concluded, Chris was retrieving his Poké Balls from Nurse Joy when he suddenly heard a surprised voice from nearby.

"Are you... are you the customer who purchased the Aerodactyl fossil?"

Chris turned his head and saw a familiar face.

Lorenzo.

The curator of the Alto Mare Museum who had sold him the Dark Aerodactyl skeleton.

"Long time no see," Chris greeted him politely.

Lorenzo showed no interest in casual pleasantries. Instead, he grabbed Chris's hand and dragged him toward the back of the Pokémon Center without any explanation.

"What's wrong?" Chris wondered aloud.

After Lorenzo had pulled Chris into the private lounge behind the Pokémon Center, he looked around carefully to ensure no one else was present before asking in a hushed tone.

"Did you bring back that Aerodactyl fossil?"

"I resurrected it," Chris replied, taking out a Poké Ball and releasing its contents to show the Dark Aerodactyl on the spot.

The Aerodactyl, surrounded by an ominous black aura, perched on Chris's shoulder like a large bird of prey. However, given its considerable size, standing on Chris's human shoulder looked somewhat awkward. This arrangement was only possible because Chris possessed three orbs in his body; otherwise, he would have been crushed to the ground.

"Put it away! Put it away!" Lorenzo reacted like a startled cat when he saw the Dark Aerodactyl, frantically gesturing for Chris to quickly recall the Pokémon while nervously glancing around to ensure no one else had witnessed the Dark Aerodactyl's appearance.

Chris was even more confused but still used the Poké Ball to return the Dark Aerodactyl.

Seeing that the Dark Aerodactyl was safely contained, Lorenzo breathed a heavy sigh of relief before asking helplessly.

"Did you just arrive from another region?"

"Yes," Chris answered honestly.

"No wonder..." Lorenzo muttered under his breath, then continued his questioning. "Since the moment you resurrected it, how has your luck been?"

"Huh?" Chris looked puzzled. Did Dark Aerodactyl also possess some kind of "super lucky" ability like Togepi?

"Have you experienced any bad luck?" Lorenzo pressed.

"No," Chris replied without hesitation. He had resurrected the Dark Aerodactyl quite some time ago. Up until now, not only had he avoided any misfortune, but his luck had been "phenomenally good!"

He had just recently captured a Shiny Zeraora, after all.

"No...?" Hearing Chris's unexpected response, Lorenzo hesitated for a moment.

"Of course, my luck has always been excellent," Chris said without any embarrassment.

His luck had indeed been consistently good ever since he'd been traveling with Togepi.

"Really... then it doesn't seem to be Kabutops's problem," Lorenzo muttered to himself.

"Curator, why are you asking me these questions?" This time it was Chris's turn to inquire.

Just as Lorenzo was about to respond, they suddenly heard a loud "boom" explosion from the distance, followed by repeated splashing sounds.

The already gloomy sky seemed to darken several more degrees at that moment.

Lorenzo's face turned pale at the sound of the explosion.

"The Dark Pokémon have returned!"
