BOOM!!!
The meteors fell to the ground, completely dyeing Jack’s surroundings in brilliant pink light.
Mega Sableye raised its red gemstone shield to resist the celestial barrage, even activating Amnesia in a desperate attempt to bolster its defenses. But it could only delay the inevitable, using itself as a living barrier against the Moonblast.
The Fairy-type move dealt double damage to Mega Sableye. While its dual defenses had grown impressively after Mega Evolution, its stamina remained unchanged, a fatal flaw.
The massive red gem shattered under the relentless pink meteor shower, breaking into fist-sized fragments that scattered across the forest floor. As Mega Sableye reverted from its Mega form, the shattered pieces were drawn back into its body like a magnet, reforming into the small red gemstone that protruded from its chest.
Meanwhile, Mega Garchomp’s jaws clamped down on Alakazam.
Alakazam instinctively tried to activate Teleport, but when it reached for the spatial fabric, it found the space sealed tight as an iron plate. There was no escape, Mega Gardevoir’s psychic field had locked down the entire battlefield.
Realizing its predicament, Alakazam managed only to raise a hasty Protect barrier.
Crack! The defensive barrier shattered like sugar coating on candied fruit, crunched between Mega Garchomp’s powerful jaws before being devoured entirely.
The dragon pushed through and followed up with Dragon Claw.
Dragon-type moves held no special advantage against Psychic-type Alakazam, but in front of Mega Garchomp’s overwhelming power, Alakazam’s defenses were meaningless.
Another instant knockout.
As for Jack, the cowardly trainer had already abandoned his Pokemon the moment Alakazam engaged Mega Garchomp. He rode his Luxray toward the edge of Maya Forest at breakneck speed, even commanding it to use Wild Charge.
Frenzied sparks crackled through the forest as they fled.
"Run! Run! If I can reach a populated area, he won’t dare kill me!" In his desperation, Jack’s thinking remained surprisingly clear.
But his plan had a fatal flaw.
John had been riding through remote areas for over an hour since leaving the hotel, how could populated areas be anywhere nearby? Jack himself had chosen this location precisely because it was deep in The Mayan Forest, where encounters were unlikely.
What he hadn’t expected was that he would be the one trying to escape.
"Run?" John sneered and snapped his fingers.
Racing through the forest, Luxray suddenly felt the world spinning. In the next instant, it crashed headfirst into a massive tree, seeing stars.
Jack, thrown from Luxray’s back, tumbled across the ground. Both trainer and Pokemon found themselves forcibly dragged back by Mega Gardevoir’s Teleport.
His struggle was nothing more than a joke in John’s eyes.
"I’ll step aside. Handle this as you see fit," Saul said, moving forward to give John privacy over Jack’s fate.
John recalled Mega Garchomp and walked toward the disheveled Jack.
Five minutes later, John caught up with Saul Badman, who was riding his Arcanine.
"Killed?" Saul asked John, who had finished dealing with Jack.
"Yeah," John answered truthfully.
Since the other party had come to kill him, there was no need for mercy. Death was the best ending for Jack.
Before dying, Jack had tried to beg for mercy, promising money, property, and Pokemon items, anything John wanted, as long as he had it.
Unfortunately, John wasn’t interested in any of those things.
Someone with a monthly income in the tens of billions wouldn’t be tempted by such pittance.
However, before dealing with Jack, John had used Gardevoir’s Hypnosis to determine his opponent’s true purpose. It was confirmed to be simple greed, Jack had coveted his Mega Gardevoir.
That sealed Jack’s fate.
The middle-aged man with the goatee was buried alongside him.
As for Jack’s Pokemon...
As always, John transferred them to his Gameboy and released them into the wild.
"Teacher, want to train a Sableye for fun?" John offered, handing over the Sableye Mega Evolution stone he’d just acquired.
John himself had no interest in raising a Sableye.
Mega Sableye possessed Ghost and Dark typing, with the extremely rare and powerful ability Magic Bounce
.
[Magic Bounce: While on the field, continuously maintains a Magic Coat effect, negating status moves that target the user and reflecting them back at the opponent.]
Combined with its excellent dual defenses, this made for a formidable defensive wall.
"I don’t have the energy to train any more Pokemon. Since Sableye has Ghost typing, why don’t you give this Mega Stone to Damian?" Saul waved dismissively. If he were younger, he might have been interested in raising a Sableye, but not anymore.
"That’s right! I almost forgot Damian is a Ghost-type Elite-Four," John said, slapping his forehead. He quickly pulled out his phone to message Damain.
"Senior, I have a Sableye Mega Stone. Interested?"
After a moment, Damain replied:
"Yes. I’ll trade you five treasure-level Pokemon items for it."
"Deal. I’ll give it to you in person during New Year’s at Teacher’s house," John replied without hesitation.
In relationships, if you only take advantage or constantly let others take advantage, the friendship won’t last. Sableye’s Mega Stone might be inferior to those of Garchomp or Charizard, but five treasure-level Pokemon items was a fair trade.
Moving forward slowly with Saul, they soon arrived at the spatial rift torn open during Landorus’s earlier battle.
"Is this the place?"
"Yes."
John had marked this location during the fight, so there was no mistake about where they were.
Saul gestured for Gengar to investigate.
Circling around, Gengar located the crack’s structural weak points.
"That’s right, this is it," Saul nodded, beginning to reach for his Pokeballs. The next step would be using powerful attacks to widen the tear.
At that moment—
A khaki figure burst through the forest, suddenly appearing before them both.
The figure stood with arms crossed, an ancient face weathered by time, its lower body wreathed in white clouds. It stared coldly at John and Saul.
Seeing this figure, John’s pupils contracted sharply, and he couldn’t help but cry out:
"Landorus?!"
