CHAPTER 151: THE SERVANT’S BARGAIN

Alora simply bowed her head. Everyone knew what Eresia, the future queen of Valigria, was like. She was used to surviving around people like that girl. So what she was doing now was simply showing that she was not an enemy to be feared.

"What do you want from me, Your Highness? I am just a lowly servant," said Alora.

"I want you to be honest with me. Are you close to that slave? You know who I mean."

Alora was silent. She knew that if she admitted being close to Kai, she would most likely be killed. And no one would be able to save her, not even Kai.

"I’m not close to anyone, Your Highness. I just invited him to eat together in the afternoon during break time because he has no friends," Alora explained.

Eresia stared intently at Alora. Her lips pursed several times, then she removed a ring from her finger. It was a ring with a beautiful gemstone.

"This ring is a rare piece of jewelry. There is only one like it in the whole world. Do you want it?" she asked.

Alora looked at the beautiful ring, then looked at Eresia, wondering if the girl was crazy enough to offer her something so valuable.

"I’m serious," said Eresia, noticing Alora’s gaze.

Alora bowed respectfully. "I cannot possibly accept that jewelry, Your Highness. What do you want from me?"

If she accepted the ring, she would be considered a thief. She would have trouble selling it, so it would not be beneficial for her.

Eresia frowned. "You don’t like it?"

"The ring is very beautiful, but I cannot dream of owning it."

Eresia put the ring back on. "All right. What do you want?"

"I don’t understand what you mean, Your Highness. I don’t want anything."

Eresia tilted her head, as if deciding whether she should negotiate with the girl or not. She didn’t care about anything, not even her name, if Alora decided to side with Kai.

"I want you to get that slave out of the palace. You can name your price," Eresia said bluntly.

Alora was silent. She had expected this when she heard Eresia call for her, and she had already thought of everything.

Alora looked at Eresia and smiled. "Getting that slave out of the palace is easy, Your Highness. I don’t want anything in return. I am a loyal and responsible servant. I would be grateful if you appointed me as your personal maid."

Eresia looked surprised to hear Alora’s words. The girl’s response was very interesting to her. She didn’t want anything but wanted to be her personal maid.

"You want to be my servant? Why?" Eresia didn’t understand Alora’s intentions and thought her request was strange.

"I only have good skills but not enough luck. Only high-ranking servants are allowed to serve members of the royal family. I just want to devote myself fully to the royal family. You don’t need to worry, I am very capable of serving you," said Alora.

She saw a great opportunity before her. Of course, she didn’t want to waste it. If Kai couldn’t bring her to the top, she would take another path, a faster one. Who would have thought that the future queen herself would come to her?

Eresia was pleased to hear Alora’s words. She was delighted because she didn’t expect to find such an easy way to get rid of Kai without any trouble. Making Alora her personal maid would be very easy.

"Deal. But if you fail, you must be prepared for the consequences. I will not hesitate to kill you," said Eresia.

Alora was silent, looking down. A few moments later, she nodded. "You don’t need to worry, Your Highness."

Then, a guard outside the room announced that Sylas was ready and waiting. Eresia immediately jumped with joy.

"Let’s go, Silvia!" Eresia exclaimed happily, walking quickly out.

During the trip, Sylas treated Eresia well. As usual, he was very polite and made conversation that he thought would interest her.

"Are we going to the clothing craftsmen?" asked Eresia, hearing Sylas’s words. She found it strange that he was taking her there.

"Aren’t they the ones who come to the palace when we need clothes?" she asked.

Sylas nodded. "That’s right, but there you will see a clothing production process that is different from other kingdoms. I’m also sure you won’t see the same thing in Ganesh. I want you to see another side of Valigria."

Eresia nodded. She didn’t mind going anywhere, as long as she was with him. But when they arrived at their destination, she wasn’t interested at all. She just walked beside Sylas as the man assigned to welcome them showed them around.

Sylas asked the man many questions on Eresia’s behalf. The man was very kind and enthusiastically explained the entire process from start to finish, showing them each section. Sylas had been there several times and knew the man. The man loved his job very much.

"I think my lady would love to get some clothes from here," said Sylas, noticing that Eresia looked bored.

The man could see that Eresia was only pretending to be pleasant in front of the people who had gathered to watch them. When they were far from the crowd, her expression quickly changed to show her boredom.

Hearing Sylas’s words, Eresia immediately nodded. Whatever it was, she wanted to leave as soon as possible.

Sylas smiled, then looked at the man in front of him to lead them to the boutique. The room there was cleaner and brighter. The designer immediately greeted them warmly.

Eresia looked around at the beautiful clothes on display.

"I never buy ready-made clothes. You know, my size is a little different," said Eresia, looking at the row of fall clothes in front of her.

Sylas nodded in understanding, answering on the designer’s behalf. "You’re right, the palace designer has already prepared everything for you. But you won’t regret getting a piece of clothing from here. I’m sure they can make a few adjustments."

Sylas invited the designer and staff to take care of Eresia. While he waited, he walked toward the men’s clothing section. A staff member accompanied him.

There was nothing special. He already had everything he needed. There were no new styles he wanted. But his eyes still wandered around the room where several outfits were neatly arranged.

His hand pulled out a long-sleeved outfit that looked comfortable. His eyes widened instantly.
