CHAPTER 125: ROYAL BOOKS? ONCE AGAIN LEARNING ARRAYS!

Kranos hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. He earnestly wanted to get his hands on the books on arrays, formations, talismans, and alchemy, but he didn’t know how to go about it. Kevin seemed to notice his hesitation.

He turned to Kranos curiously. "Are you interested in any of them?" Kevin looked stunned as he stared at Kranos, noting his expression.

Kranos nodded faintly. Kevin’s eyes widened slightly. The elders stared at Kranos in slight surprise too, their frowns deepening. Ignoring their thoughts, Kevin spoke up.

"If that is the case," he turned to the elders, then continued, "since you elders want the books from the royal treasury, why don’t you give Kranos a chance to study, alongside your disciples, whichever side profession he wants?"

So abrupt? Kranos was shocked by Kevin’s suggestion. Even though it was beneficial to him, he felt that Kevin’s decision was too sudden and impulsive. However, since it worked in his favor, Kranos didn’t say anything and silently watched as things played out.

"We can’t allow a human to look through some of our most precious knowledge!" several elders quickly shook their heads. Even though the decision would benefit their disciples, they had to prioritize the overall situation of the elven kingdom.

Some of the elders, however, were silent, and their eyes flickered with thought. Kevin watched all of this quietly. After they finished their muttering, he said, "In that case, there is no discussion concerning this. You either impart your knowledge to him or forsake your rights to the novel."

After Kevin finished speaking, he watched them as their expressions changed constantly. Most of them were already considering the offer, but they didn’t want to be the first to speak up. They remained quiet, unwilling to break the silence—until a slightly burly man stepped forward from the group.

"Since we have no conflict with the young human, as long as he is willing to promise that he won’t share our knowledge with the remaining humans, then we can agree to impart some knowledge to him."

Kranos glanced at him and realized that he held a huge hammer in his hand. His skin was toned, and he looked quite burly. A blacksmith?

Kranos had a faint guess.

He was also impressed by the man’s words. How sly, Kranos muttered internally. From the man’s words, he explicitly stated that they wouldn’t be imparting much knowledge, and that Kranos wouldn’t share it with other humans—making it seem as though he had the interests of the elven kingdom at heart. But Kranos understood that the man was just doing all this to get his hands on the book of blacksmithing.

The other elders also glanced at the blacksmith who had spoken up, but they didn’t say anything. Soon, some voices of agreement followed. Seeing that the majority of the elders had agreed to impart their knowledge to Kranos, Kevin smiled faintly, then began handing them the thick books.

Soon, all the elders had been given the books. Kranos also silently became their student.

Kranos glanced at three of the elders among the group. Arrays, formations, talismans, and pills... Kranos was intrigued, but he knew that due to the limited time he had left, he had to choose only two professions to study deeply. Since Kranos had already embarked on the path of arrays, he chose that as his first choice.

The second choice took him quite some time to settle on. But after some hesitation and using his rapid thought process to determine what ability would benefit him the most, he decided to choose alchemy. The worm demon from before had been killed easily due to the fact that he had poisoned it. That alone showed how important the alchemic path was.

After settling on his choices, Kranos glanced toward the elders.

"I’ll study arrays for a bit, since I already have a certain amount of knowledge concerning it. After that, I’ll study alchemy."

Hearing Kranos’s choices, Kevin was surprised. "Just that?" he asked in confusion.

"I’ll use the remaining time I have left to cultivate," Kranos replied with a faint smile.

Kevin remained silent. As long as Sister’s first plan has worked, there’s nothing for me to worry about. He sighed, then bid Kranos farewell and slowly walked away. Kranos stared at him for a moment, then his gaze turned to the elder of arrays. He stared intently at the array book, eager to read it immediately.

...

Meanwhile, Kevin entered a room. He saw that Kathryn had already removed her gown, exposing her milky white skin. He was slightly fascinated by the sight. Just as he was lost in thought, Kathryn’s voice rang out, snapping him from his daze.

"How’s the situation?"

"Array and alchemy," Kevin replied, getting straight to the point.

"Just those two?" Kathryn frowned, sliding on a slightly peach-colored robe over her exposed body. She stood at a mirror in the distance, glancing at her reflection and smiling faintly, her eyes flickering with craftiness.

"Says he wants to use the remaining time to cultivate," Kevin responded.

Kathryn nodded, then asked, "How about the rebellious elves?"

"They are already ready to attack at any time," Kevin said with a smile.

Kathryn was impressed. Then she flicked her hand. A pale, transparent liquid appeared in her palm.

"Give this to them..." After handing her brother the tube of liquid, she began to whisper some plans to him.

As Kevin heard the plans Kathryn had plotted, his eyes continued to widen in shock as he listened. Soon, she was done explaining, and he stared at his sister as though she were a monster.

"Sister... this..." Kevin’s eyes widened once more.

Kathryn simply flashed him a playful smile. Nothing comes free, Kranos...

...

Unaware of what had transpired between Kevin and Kathryn, Kranos followed the array cultivator to his courtyard. They entered a spacious building where Kranos saw about four men sitting down and discussing.

His disciples? Kranos noted.

He stared at them and noticed that each had distinct features. However, their golden eyes were quite remarkable, signifying their statuses as royal elves.

Seeing the elder enter, the three quickly stood up and bowed slightly. They also noticed Kranos following from behind and couldn’t help but look at him curiously.
