Primordial Heir: Nine Stars
Chapter 63: Under Pressure
CHAPTER 63: UNDER PRESSURE
Elysia sighed, deciding to cancel the rest of her training for the day. It was time to step outside and find out what was so urgent.
As she wiped the sweat from her brow, she walked out to find Emily already waiting for her. In Emily’s hand was a tonic—a vibrant, shimmering drink that glimmered like liquid rubies in the light. The aroma was a mix of citrus and herbal notes, promising to replenish stamina and ease muscle pain. Elysia took the bottle and downed the contents in one swift motion, feeling the revitalizing warmth spread through her body. She handed the empty bottle back to Emily and casually inquired, "So what’s so important that you had to interrupt me during a critical moment of my training?"
"My apologies," Emily replied, her expression turning serious. "There’s a piece of news I couldn’t wait to share with you. It’s related to your half-brother."
Elysia’s eyes narrowed; she knew exactly who Emily was talking about. "What did he do? Maybe he finally awakened?" she threw out half-jokingly, but upon seeing Emily’s silence, her heart raced with shock.
"Really? Did he awaken?" Elysia pressed, her disbelief palpable.
"Yes! He’s become capable of using a Law—the Law of Fire. He completely crushed Barak during a mock battle," Emily explained, maintaining a calm demeanor despite the excitement bubbling within her. It was hard for her to fully believe the information she had just received; she had verified and double-checked the news multiple times.
"Eh! That’s some unexpected news," Elysia finally said after a moment of stunned silence, a chuckle escaping her lips.
"To think he would awaken a different Law... maybe it’s related to his mother’s lineage. That woman with the mysterious background," she mused, her thoughts racing. Then she turned her gaze back to Emily, raising the next question. "Do you think it’s possible for our little shining star to awaken a second Law, making him the first Dual Elementalist?"
Emily hesitated, knowing the complexity of the situation. Normally, being part of the Raizen family meant he would receive the blessing of the Law of Lightning and would only be able to use that Law. But with Nero awakening a different Law, possibly linked to his maternal side, it opened up possibilities. It was conceivable that he might later awaken the original family Law.
"I think it’s possible," Emily declared after a moment of reflection, prompting Elysia to nod repeatedly in agreement.
"There is a high probability that it may happen. But let’s reconsider our standing and not rush things," Elysia asserted, her tone resolute. Emily nodded, sharing the same thought. Perhaps they could recruit him into their plans for the Raizen family.
With their minds set, the two friends vanished from the training ground, making their way back to Elysia’s villa, where they could strategize further about the exciting developments on the horizon.
As soon as Elysia and Emily left, a woman with striking red hair and intense orange eyes stepped into the Tower of Illusion, the princess.
Elreth was dressed in dark crimson training gear that clung to her athletic frame, a testament to her dedication and strength. With a determined look in her eyes, she spent 300 credits to rent the tower for her training session. She had a singular focus today: to push herself to the absolute limits.
Upon entering the tower, Elreth set the difficulty to Hell mode, a choice that would summon an illusionary clone of herself to train against. As the shimmering form of her clone materialized, an ominous aura filled the chamber. The clone mirrored her perfectly, both versions of Elreth wielding a spear engulfed in flames—an embodiment of her mastery over the Law of Fire. It was a sight to behold, the fiery light flickering ominously as the two stood poised for battle.
"Let’s kill each other," Elreth grinned, a fierce excitement dancing in her eyes as she lunged at her clone, initiating the clash with a horizontal slash aimed at its midsection.
The clone responded with equal ferocity, meeting her attack head-on with a swift parry. The sound of their weapons clashing echoed through the tower, a sharp metallic ring that signaled the beginning of an intense duel. Flames leapt from the spears as they connected, each strike sending sparks flying into the air, illuminating the combatants’ fierce expressions.
Elreth spun away from the clone’s counter, leveraging her agility to create distance. She pivoted on her heel, positioning herself for a second strike. With a swift motion, she thrust her spear forward, flames trailing behind as she aimed for her clone’s shoulder. The clone anticipated the attack, sidestepping just in time and retaliating with a swift jab of its own spear, the flames crackling ominously as it sought to find its mark.
The two warriors danced around each other, exchanging blows with explosive energy. Elreth’s movements were a blend of power and grace, her training evident in every calculated strike. The clone, however, mirrored her techniques with uncanny precision, each parry and thrust executed with a level of skill that made it a formidable opponent.
As the fight progressed, Elreth felt the heat of the flames intensifying, the aura of their battle creating a furnace-like atmosphere in the chamber. Sweat dripped from her brow, but she relished the challenge. With each clash, she could feel herself growing stronger, adapting to the rhythm of the fight. The two became a whirlwind of fire and steel, their surroundings suffering under the ferocity of their battle.
Elreth decided to switch tactics. She feigned a downward strike, drawing the clone’s attention downward before suddenly launching into a high kick aimed at its head.
The clone narrowly dodged, but Elreth used the momentum to pivot into a spinning thrust, her spear igniting in a blaze as she aimed for the clone’s torso. The attack landed, sending the clone staggering back, but it quickly regained its footing, summoning flames around it for a counterattack.
With a fierce roar, the clone launched forward, its spear thrusting like a bolt of lightning. Elreth barely managed to evade, rolling to the side and coming up ready for the next assault. The intensity of the fight escalated, both fighters now pushing their limits, the flames surrounding them beginning to coalesce into a raging inferno.
Elreth could feel the adrenaline coursing through her veins as she continued to fight, but she also knew she had to maintain control. She focused her energy, channeling the essence of the Law of Fire. Flames coiled around her form, transforming her spear into a blazing extension of her will.
"Let’s see how you handle this!" she shouted, launching a series of rapid thrusts and slashes that sent waves of fire cascading through the air. The clone retaliated in kind, its spear igniting with a ferocity that mirrored her own. They clashed again and again, each encounter igniting the air around them, creating a spectacle of fire and fury.
The tower shook as their flames intertwined, creating a dazzling display of light and heat. Elreth could see the determination in her clone’s eyes; it was a reflection of her own fighting spirit. As the fight reached a fever pitch, she felt herself becoming one with the flames, her movements more fluid, her instincts sharper.
With a final surge of energy, Elreth gathered her strength for one last attack. She channeled all her remaining power into a single, powerful thrust, her spear glowing with an intensity that rivaled the sun.
"This ends now!" she yelled, launching herself forward with explosive speed.
The clone, recognizing the impending attack, braced itself, preparing for the collision. In that moment, Elreth felt a profound connection to her fire, the flames responding to her will as she drove her spear toward her clone with a fierce determination.
The two spears met in a spectacular explosion of fire, the impact echoing throughout the tower.
Bang!
Flames erupted outward, engulfing the space in a brilliant blaze of light and heat. Elreth was thrown back, landing on her feet but momentarily dazed.
As the smoke cleared, she looked up to see her clone standing, though it wavered, flickering as the energy that sustained it began to dissipate. Elreth felt a rush of triumph wash over her; she had pushed herself to the limit and emerged victorious.
Breathing heavily, she allowed herself a moment to revel in the accomplishment. This training session had not only tested her abilities but had solidified her understanding of the Law of Fire. As the remnants of the flames danced around her, she vowed to keep training harder, striving to reach even greater heights in her mastery of this Law.
With a satisfied grin, Elreth stepped back, ready to take a good bath and have a nice sleep. Unknowingly, Nero’s awakening gave her a pressure prompting her to train harder, this pressure was something she hadn’t felt in a while.
’’Hehe! Show me more, I will eventually make you mine.’’ she murmured, eyes burning with desire. Do not misinterpret her previous words she just means to have Nero work for her nobody else.
