She just couldn't stand how much Grandmother adored and favored Julia Bluen.

In this past month, Grandmother hadn't stopped talking about Julia Bluen, causing her jealousy toward Julia to deepen even further.

The old lady gave her a knowing smile but didn't answer, simply instructing Auntie Mei, "They've just gotten off the plane, and I don't know if they've had a meal on board. Even if they did, the food on the plane isn't likely to be good. Auntie Mei, quickly have the kitchen send the prepared spaghetti to the dining room so Julia can have a bite. We'll make more of the dishes she loves for dinner."

"Don't worry, Grandmother, everything's ready," Auntie Mei replied with a smile.

In a single sentence, the old lady had made her affection for Julia abundantly clear.

"Grandmother is so biased. She hasn't even come back yet, and you're already preparing her favorite foods," Adele Horne taunted again, her tone cool.

Mila Anderson, sitting beside her, immediately nudged her with a foot. When Adele looked toward Mila, Mila gestured with her eyes, warning her to stop the sarcasm—should Glades Horne accidentally hear it, it would bring on another icy glare.

Ultimately fearing her dear older brother, Adele promptly pursed her lips in displeasure.

"If Adele likes it, Grandmother can also command the kitchen to make it for you every day," the old lady said to her critical granddaughter with amusement in her eyes, yet her tone was gentle and loving, as if to prove to the world she treated her granddaughter and daughter-in-law with the same regard.

"Who would want to eat that pig food? Just..." Adele blurted out. Only after the words left her mouth did she remember that she had just called Julia's favorite pasta pig food. An image of her brother's icy gaze flashed involuntarily through her mind, and she immediately shut her mouth, silently cursing Julia.

"Grandmother thinks that eating pasta occasionally is quite good," the old lady said, unangered. Instead, she praised the pasta, implying that if Adele were to again call it pig food, she would be treating her grandmother like a pig.

The shrewd old lady easily silenced Adele Horne's sharp tongue, making Adele hesitant to call Julia's favorite pasta "pig food" again.

"I'm going out." Adele, feeling irritated, immediately stood up and walked towards the outside, not bothering to wait for her brother and sister-in-law to return. After all, seeing Julia would remind her of her good friend Orlando Evans. Just thinking of Orlando made her wish she could drive Julia out of the Horne Family.

She truly couldn't understand; the world was full of beautiful women, so why would her exceptionally outstanding brother marry no one but a Bluen sister?

"This child, always running outside all day long," Mila Anderson sighed helplessly in a low voice.

"If you, her mother, don't discipline her, of course she'll be wild and run outside all the time," Gian Horne indifferently replied to her.

The old lady then shot Gian Horne a meaningful look and said pointedly, "Gian, don't scold Mila. You're a father yourself. Now that you're not managing the company anymore, when have you disciplined Adele? You and your wife are a case of the pot calling the kettle black."

Gian Horne didn't respond. Mila Anderson, who had originally wanted to retort, found the old lady had preempted her and could only purse her lips in resignation.

Steady footsteps were heard from outside, and the expressions of those seated on the sofa changed instantly.

Mila Anderson stood up and went to the door to greet them.

"Glades, Julia, you're back." Seeing Glades Horne walk in holding Julia Bluen's hand, Mila Anderson put on what she considered a maternal smile, though it was directed at Glades.

Watching the instantaneous change in her daughter-in-law, a flicker of amusement crossed the old lady's eyes.

"Mom," Julia Bluen greeted her politely and warmly.

"Hmm." Mila Anderson smiled, glanced at her briefly, then turned her attention back to Glades Horne.

"Grandma, Dad, we're back," Julia Bluen greeted the old lady and Gian Horne with a beaming smile. Glades Horne also greeted his family in a deep voice, then instructed Auntie Mei, "Auntie Mei, Julia didn't eat much on the plane. Please ask the kitchen to prepare something quick for her, preferably noodles, as they don't take long to cook."

"Young Master, the Grandmother had already thought of that. The freshly cooked spaghetti has just been served in the dining room," Auntie Mei chuckled. The old lady and the Young Master both truly doted on the Young Mistress, she thought; their ideas and preparations often aligned.

Upon hearing this, Julia Bluen, moved, sat down next to the old lady and affectionately took her arm, smiling. "Grandma, you're too good to me."

"Let Grandma have a look at you first." The old lady turned her head and lovingly appraised Julia from head to toe. Seeing the unique charm of a young wife radiating from her, satisfaction flickered in her eyes, and her smile deepened. Moreover, Julia was clearly exuding happiness, suggesting that over the past month, her precious grandson had been slowly winning Julia's heart.

"After sitting on the plane for hours, you must be tired. Go eat something first, then take a bath upstairs and have a good rest. I'll have your favorite dishes prepared for dinner tonight," the old lady said kindly.

"Grandma, we're not tired. I plan to go back and check on my mom later." Julia was eager to return to the Bluen family home immediately. She wanted to tell her worried mother about her sister's whereabouts. She didn't know that Ruby Bluen had already returned to the Bluen family home before her, much less that Ruby was already on her way to the Horne estate with her parents.

"You've just arrived; rest first. It's not too late to go see your mother tomorrow," Mila Anderson also said warmly, but a flash of displeasure crossed the depths of her eyes when she heard Julia say she wanted to return to her parents' home so soon. Julia had married into the Horne family, Mila thought, but her heart was still with the Bluens. She didn't realize Julia was so eager to go back because she wanted to show her parents the photos Jonathan Allen had taken, to ease their worries about her sister.

Gian Horne nodded in agreement with Mila Anderson's words.

Julia Bluen looked at her in-laws with a light smile but didn't reply. Her father-in-law, Gian Horne, seemed genuinely concerned. Her mother-in-law's solicitude, while containing some sincerity, was reserved for Glades Horne; towards her, it felt feigned.

Sighing inwardly at her unfortunate situation, she knew the honeymoon was over. Now she would have to officially face a mother-in-law who held a grudge against her because of her sister, and a nitpicking younger sister-in-law.
