CHAPTER 184: CHAPTER 184: STEPPING INTO THE BUSINESS WORLD (4)_1
He believed that for a manager, the most crucial attribute wasn’t personal work ability, but the capacity to lead subordinates—to inspire them to work for him willingly and with wholehearted dedication.
He was this kind of successful manager. He rarely returned to the company, yet he was able to firmly hold the Valence Group in his hands, even having Hansen Ruiz, the most prominent young master of A City, at his service. What more did he have to worry about?
"You go back on your word," Julia Bluen muttered.
"For you, it’s worth it," Glades Horne chuckled softly, finding his wife’s stubbornness amusing. She was the most exceptional heiress he knew.
"Sometimes you’re like a scoundrel," Julia Bluen also laughed, walking around the car. Glades Horne had already considerately opened the door for her. As she elegantly climbed in and settled into her seat, a strong hand reached out to fasten her seatbelt.
"If I always keep a stern face, I’m afraid you’ll grow weary of it," Glades Horne chuckled again.
Julia Bluen laughed even more. His face? Who could possibly grow tired of it? On the contrary, it was so captivating that people probably wished they could peel it off, boil it into a potion, and swallow it, just to make it a part of themselves.
The Toy Industry Company was the largest of the companies transferred to Julia Bluen’s name from the Valence Group. This company specialized in producing toys, ranging from the lowest-grade, immobile plastic toys to high-grade, high-tech toys like remote-controlled airplanes. The company’s premises spanned over ten thousand square meters. It resembled a conglomerate in its own right and was grand in scale, housing over 2,500 employees, more than 200 mid- and low-level management staff, nearly one hundred high-level managers, and over a dozen departments.
This company was located in T City’s first industrial zone, within the City District. It was a forty-minute drive from Golden Kirin to the first industrial zone, a considerable distance.
The company gate was a one-and-a-half-meter-high stainless steel, retractable automatic gate. When vehicles weren’t passing through, the automatic gate remained tightly closed. Although it wasn’t very high, no one dared to climb over it because there was a small door next to the main gate, just wide enough for two people to walk through side-by-side. Beside this small door was the security guard room, where several security guards were on duty twenty-four hours a day.
The Office Building had only five floors, though only three were used for offices. One floor was dedicated to entertainment, equipped with a karaoke hall, a billiard room, a dance studio, and a management library. The topmost floor was reserved as a temporary residence for the company’s top decision-maker—the General Manager. This space was essentially an apartment with a home-like layout, including a Bedroom, main hall, living room, Guest Room, Study Room, balcony, and kitchen. All necessary furniture was present. Needless to say, every conceivable appliance, whether regularly used or not, was also provided.
Because the Toy Industry Company was a subsidiary of the Valence Group, the General Manager was usually appointed by the Valence Group’s headquarters. Such a person would be a capable, high-level manager who could handle matters independently and report directly to headquarters. After the company was transferred to Julia Bluen’s name, the original General Manager had been recalled by the Valence Group. Hansen Ruiz then reappointed him to serve as General Manager in another subsidiary. Currently, the position of General Manager was vacant.
While Glades Horne had assertively escorted his wife to the company, true to his word, he no longer allowed the Valence Group to interfere with the companies transferred to Julia Bluen. He let go, allowing Julia to fully exert her capabilities and strive. Success or failure rested entirely in Julia Bluen’s hands.
The layout in front of the Office Building was roughly similar to that of other companies. It featured a small, segmented green garden with a few small stone paths woven through it. These paths centered around an artificial goldfish pond in the middle of the garden and scattered in all directions from there. The garden was filled with various green plants, some that flowered and others that didn’t. The green lawns, perhaps with the consent of upper management, were accessible to workers and became a place for them to rest after meals. Every day during their breaks, numerous workers could be seen resting on the lawn in the garden, soaking up the sun. The grass, with its tenacious vitality, continued to grow despite being sat and stepped on daily. However, as it was early winter, it had yellowed somewhat and lost the tender green of spring.
Behind the green garden stood the Office Building. To its left was the parking lot, and to its right were the employee canteen and dormitories. Due to the large number of workers, there were four dormitory buildings, each eight stories high and divided into sections A, B, C, and D. Sections A and B served as dormitories for ordinary workshop workers, section C for technical personnel, and section D for the managerial class. Security guards were stationed at the entrances of the dormitory buildings, strictly prohibiting non-company employees from going upstairs.
Behind the Office Building lay the vast production workshops.
The production workshops were spread across three floors. Each floor was extremely spacious, understandably so, as it could accommodate over two thousand employees. As a subsidiary of the Valence Group, the work environment was quite good. Even the production workshops were kept tidy and clean. In summer, all workshops were maintained at a temperature of twenty-five degrees Celsius, allowing workers to work comfortably and avoid the scorching heat.
Julia Bluen arrived unexpectedly, without prior notice to the company. Although the high-level staff knew their boss had been changed to Julia Bluen, they had not yet seen her and were unaware of when she would come to take over the company.
The car stopped at the gate, unable to enter.
The security guard asked Julia Bluen to present her identification for registration. He also inquired which company she was from and her purpose for visiting the Toy Industry Company, conducting a thorough check.
Julia Bluen glanced at the man beside her; he was pursing his lips, looking as though he had no intention of explaining. She had no choice but to get out of the car, take her identity card from her bag, and walk to the window of the security guard room. Handing her identity card over, she felt no discontent. On the contrary, she was rather pleased with the company’s strict management.
Upon seeing the name Julia Bluen, the security guard suddenly froze. Still uncertain, he spent several minutes comparing the identity card with Julia Bluen herself. He then handed the ID back to her, straightened up, and respectfully addressed her, "Boss Bluen, I apologize; I didn’t realize it was you. Please wait a moment; I will open the gate for you immediately." He then unhurriedly activated the switch for the automatic gate.
Knowing that the slender and beautiful woman standing before him was the boss of his company, the security guard still maintained his composure. This made Julia Bluen regard the management here even more highly. Rigorous oversight from above ensured that those below would execute their duties with equal strictness.
